Scribbles About News/ Feminist Rant: Amal Alamuddin Clooney is the most fascinating person?

So I didn't watch Barbara Walter's Most Fascinating people... but I'm a little pissed that it was pretty much a woman that just made the list because she married George Clooney. When will society recognize women for being themselves and not just being the wife of someone famous. And if thats the case... why not just make the famous person himself the most fascinating person? Side Note: What interesting thing did Scarlett Johansen do this year? She starred in one movie and had one baby... lots of people do that, I don't see why this makes her fascinating!

I'm not saying that Amal is not a fascinating person. She's a human rights lawyer, that on its own is interesting enough. She doesn't need the Clooney factor to make her interesting or successful... but at the same time... she's been interesting and successful before George Clooney but the only reason that they chose her was that she's married to George Clooney now. That doesn't seem right to me. She wouldn't have been on the list if she didn't marry George Clooney, and I don't like that.

Also what kind of message is this sending? If you marry a well loved celebrity you too will be a well loved celebrity? Women are only good to be a man's wife and thats what makes them interesting. Never mind whatever other things they have in their life, any other accomplishments you may have. You got married! That's all you are now! And I'm not against marriage and I'm not saying its wrong to just be a stay at home mom or stay at home wife or anything like that, but there is so much more to it than that.

And remember how I ranted not too long ago about a bunch of things that happened that aren't necessarily sexist... but they wouldn't happen to a man? This would never EVER happen to a man. Eva Mendes has said she doesn't want to get married: If she marries Ryan Gosling will he be the most fascinating person of the year? Unlikely. At least that won't be the reason, the real reason will be because he's talented and hot.

I feel like this is sending such a bad message. This is something I probably would have seen as a kid and went "ohh she's interesting because she's married." which is a sad thing because thats what kids will think. And yeah this isn't catered to kids but isn't that also what adults will think? I don't know.

Its very messy and I'm not saying she shouldn't have been the most fascinating person... well yeah I guess I am. I don't want to say she doesn't deserve it because I'm sure she does, but the only reason people give a shit is because she's married to someone famous and handsome.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
