Holiday Gift Guide

I love watching these videos and reading these things for some reason, and I did some posts last year and you know what? I'm doing them again! I'll have one here and one on my beauty blog most likely.

My Favorite Stocking Stuffers

So my mom actually got me something really cool for me, my sister and her boyfriend and it is an Elf Ball Shooter Thingy. It looks like an elf (similar to Buddy the Elf) and you put a ball in its mouth (tee hee) and then you press his stomach and shoot it out! These are sold at Hallmark and they are super cute and fun. They have them in other characters too, I think theres a reindeer and a snowman and maybe a santa. The Elf is my favorite though!

Another fun little present that they carry in a lot of dollar stores are the solar powered dancey toys. My mom again got these for me, I have an awesome mom, I'm spoiled I know! They're so cute. And my sister likes these because she has orchids and if she puts these in the window and they're dancing she knows that the orchids are getting sunlight. So its very practical too.

Also candy. My favorite candies that are only around during the holidays are the Chocolate Covered Cherry Hershey Kisses and this candy called Peepsters. That is basically a chocolate with peep marshmallow on the inside. It is the most delicious thing that exists probably. Also gingerbread twix are good and my cousin said theres all sorts of new peep flavors and some of them have minions on them... its just an exciting time for food. Also don't gift an orange! Give chocolate oranges! I don't want fruit in my stocking I want candy! Lol I'm half kidding.

For the cool girl that likes to read

Obviously, there is Amy Poehler's book Yes Please. Amy Poehler is a fantastic human being and I have not yet finished this book, but from what I've read... yes she is in fact awesome and this book is amazing.

If you want to get something else really cool and have it go to a good cause, you could also get Nia Vardalos's book Instant Mom. Nia Vardalos is an amazing writer and just an incredible person and inspiration. She wrote the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding and this book is a biography of her that mainly follows her journey adopting her daughter. It is truly from the heart and its so funny and fun to read also. It has a lot more than just her being a mom. There is a lot of stuff about her improv experience and how My Big Fat Greek Wedding got made. Its a really good book from what I've read so far. I'm not very far into it, but I've laughed and cried a lot from the first 3 chapters alone. And if you go to Nia's facebook or twitter page, you can even get yourself a personalized copy for $25 ($40 in Canada). All the money goes to adoption charities, I'm pretty sure even if you don't get it personalized it still goes to adoption charities. I got a personalized copy and she's my idol so its very special for me.

For Cool Guys That Read

You could also get him the Amy Poehler book... he might like it Amy Poehler is an awesome girl. And hey, you could get him Instant Mom if you want a sort of hint towards a future with kids maybe.... lol if you're married and have kids I'd imagine this is a book guys would find funny.

But a book more male centric Horns by Joe Hill. I read this and it is probably one of the coolest books I've ever read. Its so different from anything else I've ever read, and it was boring at first, but it picked up a lot and it was so exciting and unique and really an excellent page turner. If you like mystery and horror you will like this book.

Other gifts for guys

One thing I noticed is that guys really like pocket knives. Not sure what it is, but when I used to wear a multi-tool pocket knife, guys were playing with it and asking me about it and its something guys kinda like. So thats a fun little gadgety thing that you can get him.

Also, I feel like I mentioned this last year but this is something practical and cool. There are like plastic money-clip wallets for men and I just think they're like the coolest and easiest thing a man could carry in a wallet. I feel like this could be good for a guy friend or a romantical type of thing. Also could be kind of a hint : "Ohhh here's a wallet so that you can pay for me." Lol.

For your mom
For the most part... moms are nice people lol. My mom is very happy go lucky, so my sister and I usually get her something from Life is Good. They have cute t shirts with nice little quotes and cute pictures. They always have cute holiday ones and they make my mom happy, so thats good.

And my dad got my mom a Christmas decoration from Hallmark that is adorable and that I think mom's will love. Its a snowman tree that light up and plays music. Its so different and cute. It comes with four different parts that all connect together and play a song. 5 parts together actually, there are 4 parts that come together and there is a conductor also. It lights up and plays quite a lot of different songs. This isn't cheap to buy all together... but its for mom, you can splurge for mom! Lol. Also if you have more siblings you could all chip in together and maybe buy her a layer each (the parts are all sold separately, but when they play and light up together its so cute and really different.) If you have a mom that loves Hallmark decorations and christmasy things... she will absolutely love this.

I think thats everything I want to mention... I'm probably forgot something. Maybe I'll have another gift guide.

Ohhh well.

Byeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
