Holiday Chit Chat: Movies, Holiday Specials, Things I'd like to watch and a podcast!

So this isn't really a scribble about movies or anything like that... but there are some holiday movies that I've been watching, some new holiday specials and even a podcast or 2 that I've really been liking so I thought I'd include that here too... just cause!

First off: Night At The Museum. I liked this movie when I first saw it, but I didn't think it was anything worth watching a bunch of times or anything like that... but its been on FX a few times this week and I've really really been enjoying it! I think the cast is absolutely brilliant. I love that its fun to watch, but you do sort of learn something and I really enjoy the character arc of Ben Stiller's character Larry. I just think its such an interesting little series. I liked both of the movies, which doesn't happen that often. I'm really excited to see the third one now and... yeah. I want to go to the Natural History Museum now. I've been to the Smithsonian... which is odd cause I live closer to the Natural History museum but yeah.

I've also been watching some Christmas movies and there are 2 movies I've actually never seen before... that I still haven't watched really, but from what I've seen I definitely want to see the full movies. Home Alone I don't think I've seen since I was a little kid... and I feel like I don't love these movies because I think everyone is so mean to Kevin. And then his parents completely forget him! How can they do such a thing! I think its so mean and I feel a bit uncomfortable watching it, but its still good and funny at the same time... so I'll probably watch the whole thing soon. Maculley Culkin is so stinkin adorable in this too. He was already crazy when I was a kid, so I never really knew him as this adorable lovable kid from Home Alone... but I guess he isn't crazy anymore. He dated Mila Kunis for a really long time, that can't be that crazy.

And I saw the first 5 minutes or so of Bill Murray's Scrooged... it was the funniest movie ever pretty much. I fell asleep because it was midnight and I was on Benadryl and had taken a final earlier in the day... but I absolutely love it! Will definitely need to see this whole thing.

Also there's the Bojack Horseman Christmas episode... I'm a huge fan of Bojack Horseman. Anything involving Will Arnett and Aaron Paul aka The Best Supporting Actors of all time... I'm on board for. Even if its just their voices lol. This was cute because we got to watch a Christmas Special of the show Horsin Around. It was very meta and cheesy and cute. It wasn't as sad as most Bojack episodes, it was just pretty cute and funny overall!

And then the podcasts I've been liking. I've been loving Comedy Bang Bang. They had a really funny holiday episode with a bunch of really funny people on it. One of the funniest was Lauren Lapkus who was Santa's Naughty Elf Ho Ho. I thought that was just really funny. And Lauren Lapkus also has her own podcast... which I don't think has a holiday episode but it might. Basically every week the guest is the host and Lauren Lapkus does different voices and characters that are the guests. Its called With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus and its funny. And Improv For Humans is a great podcast too. It's hosted by Matt Besser and it has different funny guests that improvise with him and they do really great stuff. Its interesting to hear without seeing also. I started listening to it as a way to kind of help with my Improv final... and I think it helped a little. The last two aren't holiday related... but I thought they were worth mentioning.

And since I'm talking about holiday stuff, the only holiday songs I really like are songs from cartoons. I like the Elf soundtrack, older songs and She and Him but there aren't many songs I like more than The Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer soundtrack and the Grinch songs... and things like that. I like the Elf the Musical soundtrack. Stuff like that. Dave Matthews has a HORRIBLE Christmas song in case anyone was wondering. I also don't like Frosted Windowpanes, Everybody's waiting for the man with the bag, and Frankie Valley and the Four Seas... especially their Christmas songs. Yeah. All kinda bad.

Ohhhh and a holiday movie I forgot! My favorite Christmas Carol... of course The Muppets Christmas Carol. I watched it last night... and Muppet's aside... this movie is amazing! How great is Michael Caine as Scrooge???? He's so mean! To Muppets! He is quite the serious actor and I think he did a great job as Scrooge. I think the acting of the Muppets was on point too. All so funny. Everyone did a great job. The music in it is absolutely amazing! I just really love this movie.

And if you want a Christmas Drink: Celestial Seasoning's Sugar Cookie. Its so good, you don't need a lot of sugar in it. Very flavorful and a little spicy. I really like it!

And Philosophy's Spiced Gingerbread Body Wash... so soo good!

Byee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
