Feeling Lovely Friday- Feb Faves!

I'm enjoying the alliterations of this title. Lol. I like doing Favorites... so here are the best of Feb. Beauty  I feel like I don't have much this month cause its been snowing too much to actually wear any make up.  I don't think I've used anything super consistently.  Physician's Formula Nude Wear Concealer- My one big beauty discovery during the middle of February was this guy here... or girl she looks like a girl. 1) The packaging is absolutely ADORABLE! The whole nude wear line has rose gold and bow detailing and its just super cute. I kind of just bought it for that... but it actually works amazingly well. I'm a pretty picky person when it comes to concealers, I kind of want something that will make my undereyes look amazing but also cover up imperfections and this kind of does that. I feel like this works great on its own or with a foundation or bb cream. Loves it! Naked 3- This is another repeat fave, but it's been my go to this month. Loves

True Test Thursday- L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder.

Okay, this is going to be a new way that I will review products. When I did my Dove Deodorant review, I decided to post it on a Thursday because I have a lot of things going on on Thursdays. I have 3 classes, barely any time to myself... so if something can past the Thursday test it is a truly amazing product. This isn't exactly a first impression, because a lot of times I like to test things RIGHT away so a first impression isn't all that good. Also this isn't really a new product or anything... but it's new to me so I thought I'd give this a go. I had a $2 off L'oreal coupon and they are definitely one of my favorite drugstore brands and this is something I was interested in so I thought why not? I tried this for the first time on Sunday Night, and my first impression was that I liked it a lot. I used a primer under it and it was really nice and easy to blend with my fingers. It was more full coverage than my Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream but it looks more

TMI Tag - Your Mom joke edition.

I saw this on youtube... so I wanted to do it here. I changed some questions to make it more blog-friendly instead of youtube friendly. QUESTIONS! 1: What are you wearing?  A t shirt that says make cupcakes not war and really comfy sweatpants from American Eagle with a whole in the crotch... well not really the crotch but close enough. Pretty picture I know.  2: Ever been in love?  I love puppies does that count?  3: Ever had a terrible breakup?  I wouldn't say I've had a terrible breakup. I've only ever had one breakup because I'm obviously super successful with relationships, and it was pretty bad not gonna lie. 5: How much do you weigh?  A kagillion pounds.  6: Any tattoos?  No. I don't ever see myself getting one, I'm not really a tattoo type of person. I just don't think it would look right on me.  7: Any piercings?  Just my ears. Only one piercing. I almost want to get my bellybutton pierced but that sounds painful and I don't usually

Shannon Reviews Stuff: Late Night With Seth Meyer

Seth Meyer is a super funny and really talented and I was really really excited for him to start to host Late Night. I think he absolutely deserves it and I think I'm actually going to watch it consistently. I thought he did a really great job. I think Seth Meyer is perfect to host something like this, because he was great on weekend update. And he wasn't only great by himself, but he was great with a co-host also which makes me really happy that Fred Armisan is the leader of the band. They work well together and they're a good combo. I think it's really great. His monologue felt a lot like Weekend Update, which I really enjoyed. He's so good at delivering jokes and one liners that I think the opening monologues are always going to be super entertaining. If you can't stay up late enough to watch the whole show, or don't like the guests or something like that, I always think that catching the monologue is worth staying up for. It's just an entertainin

Man Crush Monday- Justin Timberlake

While thinking of all of my man crushes... I realized I never did a Man Crush Monday on a Singer Before. I may have done one on David Bowie... Maybe not... not quite sure. Anyway JT is probably one of my favorite male singers and one of my biggest man crushes. First off... let's point out the obvious. This dude is super hot. Like really really hot. I have probably had a crush on JT longer than any other crush in my entire life... aside from Han Solo maybe. Yeah Han Solo is #1 longest crush and then JT. Looking at pictures of JT in N'Sync now... I don't think he's that good looking. Mostly because of his Ramen Noodle hair... but he is certainly not a boy band guy any more! And he is also insanely talented. There are so many great JT songs that I could say are my absolute favorites. Right now I really like Don't Hold The Wall and Pusher Love Girl from the 20/20 experience... but Mirrors is great, Sexyback is great, Cry Me a River is great, Frickin Bye Bye Bye is g

Stuff that Happened this Week (2/16-2/23)

1) Charlie Sheen engaged to porn star Brett Rossi-  This is Charlie Sheen's 4th marriage... but I guess 4th times the charm right? Nope probably not. Hasn't he been married to 2 other porn stars before? He's been married to at least one other porn star. I guess it's not that shocking that Charlie Sheen's getting married to a porn star. It's not like he'd be getting married to like Katie Couric or anything right? That'd be weird... 2) Baby Krasinski Welcomed into the World- This is happy news! Emily Blunt gave birth to a baby girl named Hazel. And of corse Emily Blunt is married to John Krasinski otherwise known as Jim Halpert from The Office so yayyy! Congratulations to them both and Hazel has some pretty awesome parents! 3) Pete Wentz and Megan Camper expecting a baby- Awww yayyy! I feel like this week is very "marriage and babies" themed. I love Fall Out Boy, Megan Camper is adorable and I think they're great together. Pete Wentz has

Celebrities that I think can EGOT

I've always been obsessed with the idea of EGOTing ever since I saw it on 30 Rock. Basically it means to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and a Tony. Here's my list of stars I think have what it takes. 1) Andy Samberg- This would make me the absolute happiest. I think he already has a grammy, he's on his way to an Emmy... and I think he could win an Oscar and a Tony also. The Lonely Island helped write the song "Everything is Awesome" from The Lego Movie... which I'm sure had it been released earlier. I think he could win an oscar for a lot of things, he's actually a good actor and I'm sure he could win for an acting role. He can also write really well, so he could probably win an award for writing also. Sure he hasn't been on broadway... yet. He totally could do something on broadway or write a song for broadway or something. This guy has a lot of talent and I think he has what it takes to EGOT! 2) Pharell- He already has a Grammy. He's nomin

Feeling Lovely Friday: Laid Back-Pirate look

So I think this look is kind of a laid back but put together look and I like to think it makes me look like a pirate. I wore an American Eagle logo t shirt... which I love. I think its called their super soft logo tee. I'm not usually a logo tee kind of person, but American Eagle has sparkly logos in pretty colors soo... I got a few for Christmas, and I just ordered a couple more cause I like them so much. I'm definitely going to look at these in the stores when they have them. Unfortunately it probably won't be till August at least lol.  I paired that with this really cool skull scarf I got from Cotton On for $5. That's what gives the look its "pirate-ness" because pirates like skulls and scarves. Cotton on has a lot of cool scarves and usually they have $5 scarf with purchase deals. I like cotton on they are pretty dang cool and affordable.  And I topped it off with a snapback hat from American Eagle. I didn't wear this all day... actu

Appyness #2 Temple Run

Hello everyone today I'm going to review an app and tell you how much I like it... or how (h)"appy" it makes me. And today... I'm going to do Temple Run 2! Basically I looked at all the free games and this one was on the top free game... at least I think. I know Temple Run was a big craze, I never actually played it, but now I'm going to try the second one. Alrighty here I go...  This is fun. Basically its this ginger guy running away from a gorilla monster and you have to swipe to jump over things and swipe down to go under things and tilt for money... ugh its fun. I'm on level 2 now.  This is frustrating. I don't like getting eaten by this weird monster. It looks like a gorillas body but with a skull face, its face looks like cubone.  Now I'm looking at the upgrades. There are a few different characters here lets see if I can find out some stuff about these guys... or at least give my impression of them.  So the ginger guy tha

Movies You Should Watch

Sooo I've been doing a lot of mini reviews lately of movies that are streaming or just easy to find in general and here are some you should check out. 1) Cabin in The Woods- I watched this a few months ago and it is such a great movie. It is the perfect blend of scary and funny and "wait what happened? Could that happen?" There are a lot of twists and turns and it's kind of cheesy but it's meant to be. I thought it was just a horror movie about kids going into a cabin and theres a killer or something... but there is sooo sooo much more than that. It's just a really great horror movie. It's a fun one to watch and it kind of makes you think a little bit. They are also making this a ride in Universal... which sounds absolutely epic and horrifying to me. If you watch it at the end you'll see why the ride would be so great and really scary at the same time. I'm excited and I definitely want to go! This is available on Netflix.  2) Sleepaway Camp-

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon- Review

I don't usually watch Jimmy Fallon or Leno or anything... but I do like Jimmy Fallon a lot so of corse I had to watch his first episode on the tonight show. I remember watching his first episode of Late Night and it was super funny. I remember he did a game called "lick it for ten" where he would have people lick things for $10. It was fun. $10 is just enough money to get me to lick something around the studio, but its also probably a gross enough thing for a lot of people to not want to do for a small amount of money. It's brilliant. Anyway this was a lot different. His guests were Will Smith and U2. He did a little sketch with Will Smith where they did the evolution of hip hop dancing and it was funny. There was a bit at the beginning of the show where he told off his friend saying "You never said I'd be on the Tonight Show. Guess you owe me $100." Then a bunch of celebrities came out including Tina Fey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Joe Namath, Seth Rogen,

Oscar predictions 2014

Sooo I haven't seen many of the oscar-nominated films, but I thought "hey why not blog about my predictions." From what I can tell it seems like its anyone's game. That's what I've heard anyway. I'll let you know who I think will win and who I want to win.  Best Picture  American Hustle  Nebraska  12 Years a Slave  Captain Phillips  Gravity  Philomena  The Wolf of Wall Street  Dallas Buyers Club  Her  As of right now I've only seen Dallas Buyers Club and 12 Years a Slave and I gotta say 12 Years a Slave deserves it. It was a phenomenal movie and it was brilliantly directed and was just great. The other movie I think could maybe get it is Gravity... but I feel like that was released too early so one of the others will likely get it instead.  I think it'd be cool to see Her win. I didn't see Her I really want to, but that one is more of a comedy I believe and I think it'd be nice to see a comedy win. Also it

Mini Movie Reviews 2!

Hello all! I've seen some more movies on tv or netflix or amazon or whatnot so I figured I'd do some more mini reviews. Since these movies aren't out in theaters anymore I don't want to go into a lot of detail... so I'm just going to tell you if you should see it or skip it. 1) The Incredible Burt Wonderstone- This didn't look that bad... but it got some bad reviews. I thought comedy with Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi and Jim Carey... how bad can it be? It was pretty bad. It wasn't unwatchable completely it had enjoyable moments and everything, but it was not that great. It was slightly offensive to women, it wasn't too too bad I just may be sensitive to this fact... idk. It did pick up in the middle though, so I almost said see it... but honestly there are wayyy better things you could see on demand. I'm gonna go with a Skip It!  (also it seems like this movie should be a kids movie... but it is pretty inappropriate for kids. Just thought I'd

Stuff that Happened This Week #2

It's Monday right now... and i'm going to post this on Saturday or Sunday... but a lot of stuff has already happened this week. Some of it has already happened... but I forgot to mention it in post #1 so I thought I'd mention it here too. Also I update this as more stuff happens because it's a week a lot of crap is gonna happen.  So I'll start with the older news and then we'll go on from there. 1) X Factor Is Cancelled After season... ohhh who cares- I'm actually super happy about this. Not that I ever watched X Factor, but I'm happy that it seems like people are less interested in this type of reality show. There are so damn many of these friggin shows on tv right now and for a while nothing was original or funny. I mean Arrested Development was replaced with goddamn Skating With Celebrities! Which failed btw. I'm just happy that a reality show is over and I feel like the craze is FINALLY dying. 2) Ben and Leslie's Lock was stolen- The lo

I love Drugstore Makeup Tag!

1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand?
I'd have to say I've never been disappointed with L'oreal or Nyx. Those two are my favorite favorites... but they aren't exactly the cheapest. I'm starting to like Covergirl quite a lot too, so that's probably the most affordable drugstore brand that I love... but L'oreal is probably first.  2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
Face product is probably a tie between my Covergirl 3 in one Stay fabulous whatever foundation and my Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream. The Covergirl foundation is really great coverage and it stays all day and it is quite awesome. I really like it. The Olay BB Cream is really great for my dry skin in the winter time and it gives a nice coverage also.  Cheek- I'm just sort of experimenting with blush right now but if I had to pick my favorite is Elf baked blushes. They're really nicely pigmented... I think these are harder to find in stores unfortunately

Bad Kiss Experience

Sooo this blog is kind of very embarrassing but since it's Valentine's Day I thought I would explain the worst vday experience I had... Wait no actually it was after valentines day that this happened. I think I went out on a date with this dude the day before Valentines day but it was just so bad we just decided to take a short break and then he more officially asked me out the day after (and by more officially I mean he asked me on Facebook chat instead of text message. This was back when I was in high school so Facebook chat was just about as serious as it got.) Anyhoo back on track this is a first kiss story... Which as you may have been able to tell from my Valentines day essentials blog.. There weren't that friggin many of. Anyway this story starts off weird because we were in the mall, but we weren't even hanging out together. I was just basically at the mall all that day because I was seeing the same movie twice (Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland for anyon

Woman Crush Wednesday- Tina Fey! (100TH POST!!!!!)

This is my 100th post so I figured I'd make this a very long awaited and incredible post about my #1 woman crush and idol the lovely and talented Miss Tina Fey. I love Tina Fey she is brilliant and beautiful and funny. Words cannot describe my admiration for Tina Fey. She's just the best. This may be an uneventful 100th post because idk where to even begin with this... I loved her on SNL, I thought she was super great on Weekend Update and at the time I didn't even know that she was the head writer of the show at the time... that must have been awesome. Except in her book when she describes that guys actually peed in jars instead of going to the bathroom. Watching sketches with her and Amy Poehler together made me realize it's okay to be a funny girl. These two women were "the funny ones" and they were on tv and doing amazing! And I remember watching 30 Rock when it first came on wayyyyy back in the day. I was a Freshman in High School and Arrested Devel

Rejected Candy Hearts!

This was a TT on twitter... and I thought why not just do a list of my own here? 1) When I'm drunk, you're a solid 7. 2) I watch you while you sleep. 3) Let's see other people. 4) Threesome tonight? 5) Friend Zoned! 6) I'm wanna give you my crabs! 7) I'm You'res. 8) Let's play Flappy Bird... ohhh wait. 9) I charge by the hour. 10) Just a picture of Nick Cage's face.

It List: February 2014!

Every month I feel like I go through different obsessions and I like reminiscing about said obsessions, so these are basically 10 things I'm loving right now that you should be loving as well because my recommendation is gospel basically. 1) 30 Rock - Seriously cannot get enough of this show. I watched it since it started when it was just an itty bitty baby tv show and I watched it grow up and get even more hilarious and I missed it when it ended. I happened to catch a repeat a little while ago and remembered its amazingness and I've been reobsessed ever since. I'm happy I've rediscovered this. 2) Sex and the City- E has a sex and the city marathon every day! It's amazing! After watching a lot of Carrie Diaries and catching up, I wanted to rewatch some episodes of this too and I'm loving it. I think out of the whole show my favorite episodes are when Carrie is dating Aiden and when she's cheating on him. I like when Miranda is dating Steve too. I just

Stuff That Happened This Week #1

Well technically last week... I'm just going to say some little snippets of news or rumors that I've heard that have happened the past week and write my own thoughts and whatnot about it. I've been wanting to do something like this for a while... but I don't really watch all that much news or hear to many things other than gossip... so this is what I have. 1) Selena Gomez went to rehab- So this is something kind of funny but kind of sad. Mostly very sad, I really hope she gets better, addiction is a disease and it's got to be hard spending so much time in the spotlight and there is a lot of pressure on her and everything. I think the girl is very talented and I really hope she gets better. That being said... she didn't really give a reason for her being in rehab... On E! News they said that she just needed to "clear her head" so she went to rehab... I'm sorry what now??? Selena Gomez is just thinking far to much everyone, she needs to clear he
