It List! February 2017

1) Crazy Ex Girlfriend- I bingewatched the second season from my tivo in about a day... and it was really good! I think the first season was a little funnier... but I liked the second season so much that I actually went back and watched the first season again and now I'm watching season 2 again... even though I just watched it all... the CW is an awesome network to watch on netflix... highly recommend. 2) Jane The Virgin- Jane the Virgin is a very quick show... storylines happen and they're very dramatic and none of them ever really get solved but it's all very quick because it is a telenovela and it does follow that style... I'm guessing at least. American Soap Opera's are a lot slower than this... but this is all quite quick... I feel like Jane's relationship and marriage to Michael kind of slowed everything down a bit... and the stories were really cute and nice... but then... that storyline ended and now it's kind of back to being very quick and dramat

Oscars 2017 Recap

We've got a lot to go over tonight... let's start wit the big one... Mahershala Ali is the first Muslim man or woman to win an acting Oscar! I know this probably isn't what you were thinking of as "The Big Thing" but frankly... this is what people should be talking about! What an amazing achievement. I haven't actually seen any of the movies... but from reviews I've read and clips I've seen... he really makes the movie. A lot of the times an AMAZING supporting actor or actress can make the difference between winning Best Picture or not winning best picture. And Mahershala isn't really known to be an a-lister or anything... he's been in lots of movies- Boggs in The Hunger Games and he was on House of Cards and Luke Cage... it's still not a name I think has been heard before... and now I'm sure his name will be well known and he'll go on to do a lot more stuff! Good job Mahershala! Great accomplishment. Okay so now the big moment

Weekly Wrap Up

Favorites  The Great Comet of 1812- I was listening to this soundtrack this week... I'll probably end up doing a full  review  on it on This Blog... I have a feminist review up on my feminist blog... but I really liked it! I don't really  want  to listen to it again... I think I might end up seeing this on Broadway at some time... it's  good. Its one that you can follow the plot from the soundtrack... the characters are all really good... and the music is good. It's like Modern Rock mixed with traditional Russian music... it's good! I would recommend listening to it!  Down To Dis-ness- This is a web series about disney history that Sarah Snitch on Youtube hosts... it tells a little bit of information about Disney (and Pixar) animated movies and how it was important to pop culture... for example new animation techniques and things like that... it was good, I bingewatched all the episodes on Monday.  Crazy Ex Girlfriend- I love this show... I'm rewatc

Scribbles Feb 25th 2017

Saturday 2.18  I went to my sister's house and we went shopping at Ulta a little bit and then we just stayed and watched the baby. She was asleep most of the time... she's such a cutie! Sunday 2.19  My sister, her husband and the baby came over here because they were getting her handprint done as a paperweight at Hot Sands, which isn't far from us so they came over here afterwords and then later that night I went out with my friend and we went on a walk and then I had Chicken and Waffles at the Ale House.. so that was really yummy! Monday 2.20  I honestly forget what I did this day... I might have seen my sister and the baby? I think we did... but I can't remember! It was a good day either way... I'm just not quite sure what happened. Tuesday 2.21  I think I was home most of the day... Not quite sure. Wednesday 2.22  Again... think I stayed home pretty much all day. My friend texted me asking if I'd go to a bridal show with her and I got dressed and

Scribbles About Food: Chicken and Waffles at The Ale House in Asbury Park

So here's something fun! The Ale House is a really great restaurant... it gets really busy and the service isn't the absolute best... but even still... it's got a great menu with pretty much everything I like on it... good appetizers, fun place for drinks... and just a good place to go all in all. Anyway... back to my food... There was a lot of stuff on the menu that I liked... but when I saw Chicken and Waffles it was a done deal! I knew exactly what to get and I was super super excited! The Fried Chicken was boneless and it had a maple flavor to it. It was really good and sweet. There wasn't any maple syrup with the chicken and waffle... which I was somewhat nervous about... but the flavor of the chicken definitely made up for that. It tasted like it already had Maple with it. There was also a gravy that went on top of it that was really good. It was a white gravy that had bacon in it I think also according to the menu... it didn't really taste like bacon,

Throwback Thursday: Starkid's A Very Potter Musical!

I mentioned a little while ago that I'm getting a little bit more interested in the Starkid musicals right now... mostly because I just really like musicals and I love the accessibility of having an entire musical right on youtube. Especially since so many of them are based off of things that I already have an interest in like Harry Potter, Aladdin... I think they have a Batman one and a Star Wars one now. All pretty cool! I haven't seen the Batman or Star Wars one... but they are just really great musicals about some really cool things. This was my favorite when I was in High School. I think I liked the sequel a little bit better... but this one is really funny too. They have Voldemort and Quirrel as "Odd Couple" type roommates and Harry as this Jock type guy that's kind of a jerk. Cho Chang is a Southern Bell, Cederick Diggory is kind of an idiot that's super proud of Hufflepuff "Finding" pride. Dumbledore is sort of a burnt-out teacher... it'

Chart Chat! (feb 17th-Feb 19th)

Here are the new Top Charts of the week at the Box Office! 10) A Cure For Wellness- This looked like a weird movie... but I'm surprised it isn't further on the chart. I guess it was a little weird for most people... because it's low on the chart lol. Doesn't really have the same suspense appeal as Split... and it isn't exactly the best Date night movie for the weekend after Valentines day. 9) La La Land- This probably would be a great date night movie after Valentine's day. It looks cute, it's a musical and it's been getting rave reviews and lots of Oscar Buzz. Hasn't done great on the charts... but it has been in the top 10 for quite some time now. 8) A Dog's Purpose- Just saw this movie and I loved it! I have a review that I'll try to link here (not published quite yet as I'm writing it... so if I don't remember to link it... that is why!) I loved it... it made me cry throughout most of the movie... it was really good to hear

Scribbles About TV! Tv Recap 2.12.17-2.16.17

Here's a little recap of all the shows I watched during the week that are still currently on TV. Sunday  I don't really watch anything on Sunday's. I like Last Man On Earth and some other shows on Sunday I think... I just always forget to watch and I don't have Hulu anymore... and I don't think they're on Netflix or Amazon Prime... so there is just a lot that I miss... that I should watch and catch up on... but I don't. Monday  I really liked Jane The Virgin... I was excited for this episode... and I thought they did a good job of it! I liked seeing the difference between Jane and Petra and how they've gotten closer through the years. I liked Zen Rafael after prison... and I'm still kind of Team Rafael... I wanted Jane to be with both of them to be honest... and I guess this is the only way she can be now lol. Not "lol" this is nothing to laugh at... but it was sweet seeing how they interacted and how Petra and her were close... and

Scribbles About Movies: A Dog's Purpose Review

I know I've been saying that I wanted to see this movie when it was on TV because I didn't quite know about the abuse claims and it looked like a show better to watch on TV than in the theaters... My friends wanted to see the movie and the Humane Society did investigate the movie and all was good. So I saw it in theaters. It was a really great movie too! It stayed on the best storyline that was the main story the longest... and it spent a good enough time on the other lives and you could see how one of the dog's lives helped with understanding the next and it shaped him to become the dog he was at the end of the movie... And you got to see a lot of, unfortunately, horrible things that happen both to dogs and to people from an incredibly innocent point of view. I don't want to spoil things but the dogs don't really get to choose their life... and it isn't always fun and there are a lot of bad parts. Dogs don't really have much control over what happens un

Weekly Wrap Up! 2.19.17

Favorites  Joanne by Lady Gaga- I've been listening to this CD a lot this week and it's just really good... I'm really excited to see Lady Gaga in August... I love that this is kind of different than what she usually does... but she just does it so well. It is weird to listen to a full CD and where Alexander Hamilton doesn't die at the end... but it's still really good.  Jane The Virgin- I finished watching the First Season of the show... and I have a recap that I'll post on a Throwback Thursday sometime next month... but what a great show! I just really like it. I'm on the Second Season now... so yeah. I'm still all caught up with the current season... but re-watching is so fun.  Dr. Teals Relax and Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint Foaming Bath Soak- This smells amazing and it's a stress relief type of thing and it just smells nice and de-stresses and I just really like it. It's a relaxing and refreshing bubble bath!  A Dog's P

Scribbles! 2.18.17

Saturday 2.11.17 Ugh... Okay so real time... it's Thursday now... and I don't totally remember what happened the rest of this week. I'm pretty sure I just went to Harmon to get shaving cream on Saturday. I ended up getting a bubble bath thing as well that is a stress relieving thing... spoiler alert... I love it! It's probably going to be on my Monday Must Haves on my other blog and on my Weekly Wrap up as a favorite. It's Dr. Teals Relax and Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint... so so good! My mom tried it too and she likes it. I also had chinese food too for dinner... sooo good! We just rediscovered a place near us that has good Chinese food! Sunday 2.12.17 Sunday I went up to see my sister and my baby niece! The baby was up the whole time, my parents and I all got to hold her... she was just being cute as can be... We watched some of Finding Dory too which was cute. Not one of my favorite Pixar Movies... but it is still a pixar movie, which means it is better th

Chart Chat 2.17.17

10) Sing- Still in the top 10! Still can't wait to see this movie eventually... probably on DVD... but still! This soundtrack is amazing and I just really like Illumination movies. I guess I've only ever seen Despicable Me, Minions and Hop... but I think they've got some great, original cartoon ideas and I think they are just as good as Disney... maybe not as good as Pixar... but more fun to watch I think. 9) Lion-  Dev Patel! Nicole Kidman! What is not to love with this movie! They actually had the man that's story is portrayed in this movie on CBS This Morning... didn't hear the whole interview... but I still think it's a great story and I want to see it. 8) La La Land- This movie looks great! Musicals, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling... a love story. Really I just want to see this movie because I want to listen to the soundtrack... I bet its amazing... but I don't really want any spoilers! 7) Rings- This looks interesting to me. I don't watch Horror mo

Throwback Thursday: Frozen

So this isn't quite as much of a Throwback... and I actually watched it more than once recently... so yeah. Hopefully this is still kind of helpful. When I first saw this movie I kind of liked it... kind of didn't think it was worth the hype... watched it a second time recently and I liked it a lot better and then I watched it a few more times... and I actually kind of love it. It isn't my favorite Disney Movie or animated movie... Obviously the Despicable Me and Minion movies are my favorites. I also really like Tangled, which I reviewed last week. Lilo and Stitch is kind of a favorite... there are just a lot of movies that are better than Frozen... so when Frozen sort of became this huge thing I was like "Meh..." I also never liked that there's this great love song at the beginning of the movie called "Love Is An Open Door" and it's for the bad guy... that's kind of terrible. I just didn't like that at all. It just seems so wasted a

Scribbles About TV: Powerless Review

I was really excited about this show... and it isn't that I don't like it... it's funny... but its not super funny. It falls a little flat for me. It's a cute show and I think it's going to get better and better... but it's not my favorite show right now. It's about a girl that wanted to be a superhero or live near superheroes... but she didn't have any powers... so she tried to help the world in different ways and eventually got a job at Wayne Security, run by Bruce Wayne...'s cousin. Lol. So Batman is mentioned... it isn't mentioned that Bruce Wayne is Batman though. Danny Pudi and Ron Funchs are on the show as employees of Wayne Security that aren't really working up to their potential, and Emily (the girl, played by Vanessa Hudgens) is hired to be their boss and wants to make Wayne Security better. She didn't know, however, that Wayne Enterprises is kind of going through some problems... and has gone through quite a few bosses in

Scribbles About Food: Hershey's Cupcake Kisses and Red Velvet Kit Kats

So this is a "new" flavor from Hershey's in their kisses line... it's really good and it's really cute... but I have to say, don't really think that this is a very "new" candy. It is white chocolate with pink crunches inside. The pink crunches were a nice surprise for me. If you look on the outside it just looks like white chocolate... there's no hint of crunchiness... so the crunch was a nice surprise touch. It also does taste a little but more like icing than white chocolate or vanilla... there's a bit of a frosting smell when you open it up. Overall, these would be cute in a kids goody bag or for baking or something... they aren't the most creative or different candy out there... but they are pretty good. I liked them a lot! Red Velvet Kit Kats  These are also white chocolate... but they have a red velvet filling on the inside and the nice crispy crunch of a Kit Kat Bar. These are very very sweet... like even sweeter than the

Grammy Gossip! - A Recap of the Memorable Moments of Grammy's 2017!

This is kind of like Superbowl Smackdown... but obviously for the Grammy's. I think I did this last year too! I like award show recaps... and there was a lot for this year... so Let's go on! James Corden was really funny. He wasn't on the show that much though, but he did a really fun opening rap song that went over the music related things that happened this year... the nominees and such. I really liked that. James Corden is a pretty good rapper. Then the awards started... Chance The Rapper won the first of the night for Best New Artist... I was rooting for him, I like him a lot on the Hamilton Mixtape and I just downloaded his cd. He released it only on streaming services... which is interesting. I only listen to Apple Music right now... so that works perfectly for me! The performances were all really good too... aside from a few technical difficulties. Adele had a technical difficulty during her tribute to George Michael... and I don't think that tribute did hi

Weekly Wrap Up 2.12.17

Favorites  Jane The Virgin- I started  this  week  out  with watching Crazy Ex Girlfriend again... but then with the twist on Jane The Virgin I decided to watch that again... I think I'm going to do Throwback Thursdays on both of them because there's stuff I noticed and basically... everything leads up to the twist that just happened. Same with Crazy Ex Girlfriend...  which  is next on my list... it's just a great show.  Crazy Ex Girlfriend- So I just caught up to  what  is probably the best  episode  of the series: "That Text Wasn't meant for Josh." Maybe I'll do a Top 5 favorite episodes of this too because  this  is just a great show. I'm so excited for next season... there was a lot in the first season that sort of hinted at Rebecca's past.  News and World Events George Clooney and his wife Amal just announced that they are expecting Twins! They will join Beyonce's twins in being super awesome twins of famous people!

Scribbles! 2/11/17

Saturday 2.4  Today I cleaned my room a little more, if you saw last week's Scribbles, you know that was the big theme of the week. We had some friends over for Christmas... that's how far behind we were... lol. It was a lot of fun. We caught up and exchanged gifts and it was really nice. Sunday 2.5  Superbowl Sunday! My parents always have a party to celebrate with our family friends... and this year my sister brought her baby! She was so cute, my brother in law put little earmuffs on her to protect her little ears from Spencer. She did meet Spencer and pet his fur... but she was asleep. It was fun to see her and it was nice that it was the first time at our house. The first time my parents friends and my grandfather got to see her. I did a whole post about what I thought about the Super Bowl right  here! Monday 2.6  Went over to my sister's house to see the baby again. We watched her when my sister took a shower and did her hair and stuff like that. My mom made

Scribbles About TV:Jane The Virgin Chapter Fifty Four Recap *Spoilers*

Wow! This whole episode was amazing and I felt a whirlwind of emotions! As of right now... I'm in shock that they killed off Michael! The whole episode I was thinking "Wow, I love Jane and Michael Together. I liked Jane and Raphael a lot too, and I could still see it going either way... but I'm so happy she ended up with Michael." And then they were planning on having a baby and getting these amazing careers... Which they never could have done without each other! Jane and Michael had the cutest day ever and it seemed like after EVERYTHING that they've been through, they clearly love each other even more than the day that they first met. So So cute and very very sweet... They kept talking about memories... and that was a little weird and I was kind of scared like "huh... I wonder if Michael gets arrested for cheating on his test." And the whole episode was done very well with all the transitions. The theme of "test" came up many times in t

Throwback Thursday: Tangled!

So this isn't much of a throwback... but I haven't seen it in a while... so Throwback Thursday! This is one of my favorite movies... definitely from Disney possibly in my Top 30 movies I'd say... maybe a little higher than that. I'm not sure why... but I feel like I'm not unlike Rapunzel. I used to always have long tangly hair, and now I cut it short... but also personality wise... idk why, I just connect with her more than any of the other princesses. She's smart and sassy, but still doesn't totally believe in herself, but she befriends and loves everyone she meets.... I feel like I'm like that. Maybe that's being to positive... but not really because of the whole "doesn't believe in herself thing." I dunno. Not trying to toot my own horn... but I'm Rapunzel. Lol. And this is a really underrated movie too. I don't think it was even nominated for Best Animated Feature and it was brilliant. I love the music in it too. The s

Scribbles About TV: The Santa Clarita Diet Review *Spoilers?*

Breaking this into 2 parts... one after I've just watched the Pilot and a little bit of Episode 2... and One once I've finished the series because I have some Predictions about what's going to happen after the pilot... so yeah. There will be some spoilers in here. After The Pilot  I really liked this. I can tell this is going to be kind of a slower season though... and that is kind of what I expected. I think the full trailer gave a little bit too much information. We know that she's going to kill bad people and eat them from the trailer... but I think it takes the characters a while to figure it out... so that's what I think is making it a little slower. I think the characters are great... I like that there really aren't too many characters in the first episode at least. It just kind of works well for the show in my opinion. I love Drew Barrymore, so I'm always happy to watch her in something. It's funny that she's a vegan and she's playing

Chart Chat! 2/6/17

Alrighty... another chart chat here! I know I said I'd have a Jane The Virgin Recap/ Reaction today... but I think I'm going to save it until Friday just in case people are a little behind on watching it because there will be spoilers... so please watch the show first and then come back here to read my recap Friday! 10) Lion- This movie looked really really good. Dev Patel is in it... I really like him! I loved Slumdog Millionaire and this sounded like an interesting story also. Nicole Kidman is in it too... it just looked like a really great movie. 9) The Space Between Us- This is a weird movie... why do so many science fiction movies want to keep humans hostage on Mars it seems? This looks interesting but there's a lot going on in it for a movie... also the title "The Space Between Us" is kind of too much... they don't even play the Dave Matthews song in the previews... idk it looks a little too familiar and a little too over the top for me... it's t

Superbowl Smackdown! Superbowl 51

Hamilton wrote the other 51!!! Jk... that's just what I think of when I hear the word 51 now. This didn't seem like it would be the most exciting Super Bowl ever. It was the Falcons second Super Bowl ever and they've never won... so it seemed that this would be kind of a cased closed, easy win for the Patriots... who have won Superbowls several times before. As it turns out... the Falcons kind of kicked ass in the game up until around the 3rd quarter. It seemed impossible for the Patriots to win after that... but The Patriots were able to tie in the 4th Quarter and then won when the game went into overtime in the First time in Superbowl History!!!!! But now to the fun part... What'd I eat? Lol. I don't know if I've done this in the past Superbowl Smackdown's in previous years... but I thought I'd do it this year. We always have the same things for the most part. Chli in sort of a "do it yourself" type of way. We have all sorts of taco bow
