Weekly Wrap Up- 6.19.16

Favorites
Grace and Frankie- Still a favorite! I love this show... its really funny, I'm almost done and I'll have a review soon and then I'll watch Orange is The New Black... but this is good! I like it a lot!

Last Year was Complicated- The new Nick Jonas CD is really great! I'll have a review on that sometime soon also... but I liked it. Even though all his songs kinda sound the same, I think there's a purpose for that. He's telling a story. Lol.

Watching Movies- Watching movies is just fun. I haven't done that in a little while, so I watched Pitch Perfect 2 and My Big Fat Greek Wedding when I was cleaning my room. I bought Deadpool really cheap at Target, so I think I'll watch that when I finish cleaning... so yeah. That's fun!

Snippets from the week
-Monday was my moms bday, so we went out to lunch and dinner. It was nice. We went out a lot this week too... we went out friday and yesterday... so that was good. And my grandmother took us to lunch one day this week too... so that was nice!
-I didn't do much Wednesday. On Thursday I got a lot of cleaning done in my room and that was when I watched Pitch Perfect 2 and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
-I also went to Target and out for Ice Cream on Thursday.

TV Highlights
Grace and Frankie... Uncle Buck, which I'll have a review of soon... and I think thats it. Other than the movies I mentioned.

Noteworthy Snacks
Blueberry oreos... review soon lol. Pink Drink. I went to a place called Coney Waffle and got a waffle ice cream. That was good. And Cheese fries from Windmill... yum.

News and World Events
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis announced they are expecting a 2nd baby.

Thats all I feel like mentioning. The news this week sucked and this is a happy blog... so yeah. Just be nice to people. Do a random act of kindness for a stranger or something nice for someone. I think a lot of people get into ruts when the news is so horrible and the kindness of a stranger will show you that the world is a better place than you think.

Ohh but I do want to mention some not so great news just because I haven't heard it talked about on the news very much. Alejandro "Jano" Fuentes was shot and killed in Chicago this week. A man ordered him to get out of his car, and shot him. Fuentes was 45. This was just a week after the tragic death of Christina Grimmie.

On CBS's Sunday Morning it mentioned that since the attack in Orlando last week... there have been 207 gun-related deaths in the United States... but you know, the big problem in America is Microbeads...

Thoughts
I kind of went over this already, but just be kind to people. You never know whats going on. There have been a lot of people reminding me of that this week in particular. Just people I know just from Instagram or Periscope have been so kind to me this week... its just been a good week of that. So that's what I'd like to mention as my little advice of the week.

Bye! Hope this made you smile at least! Have a happy Father's Day! Hope everyone has a nice day!
-Shannon

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
