Life Hacks: Shannon Edition

Here are some fun tips that I call my "adult life hacks" and then some more... real life ones. Lol. Its not much... but yeah.

The Grown Up Way To Get Chicken Fingers
If you're at a restaurant, ask for fried chicken in your salad... that way Bam: Chicken fingers for dinner! Adult Hack!

The Grown Up Way To Have Chips and Dip for dinner
"Potato Chip encrusted Salmon with a dill-sour cream dressing" -is what the menu read. What Shannon read was "Here is chips and dip, with salmon." Life= Hacked!

Sunglasses Holder
This one I'm actually pretty proud of. I have a lot of sunglasses and I always have trouble storing it... but I have this little cubby in my room that has little like shingles on the door i guess? Idk how to phrase that but there are like spaces in between... like how a lot of closet doors are. Anyway I stuck the sunglasses inside of the cubby on the spaces... so yeah. Life Hack! I'll try to show a picture.

Bam! You've been life hacked!

Latergram Hack
Okay... so I used to have an app called Latergram... I did a whole post on why that app is amazing, and then another one about why I deleted it... look for it if you want to look for that on here... you can look for that... but I liked the convenience of it, and I felt like I was getting better with using it before I realized it didn't really work for me... but anyway I liked writing out the reviews before and it would copy and I would write out the review beforehand and it would copy and paste it for me. Which was awesome.

So basically... I just plan ahead. I know what I want to review and take the pictures before and then I'll copy and paste the review itself when I publish the photo... so yeah! Thats a little easier for me as an instagrammer. I liked having the scheduler... but this is just as easy... kinda sorta.

Writing Hack
Do you have a story set in a specific place and you want to feel like your there? Try looking up the white noise you're looking for to create the ambiance of wherever you're writing. If you're used to writing in a coffee shop? They have a coffee shop sound. Writing about a dark, stormy night in the city? They have that! Writing a horror story? They have stuff for that too! I found that I like this youtube channel. They have a wide variety of noises and time increments... so that's a good one. Also the noises sounded more familiar to me than any other channel. It was helpful for me.

So those are all my hacks for right now. Do you have any life hacks? Let me know in the comments!

Byeee!
-Shannon

It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea...

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...
