Scribbles About TV: Uncle Buck Review

I was pretty excited about the Uncle Buck Tv Show. All the previews made it look really funny and different and it just looked like it was well cast and funny. Mike Epps looked really funny on the previews. I love Nia Long! Just seemed like a good show!

And I really enjoyed it! I thought the first episode was good... but it wasn't my favorite. I think the girl scout episode was where it really shined... but we'll get to that. Lol.

So I've never seen the movie Uncle Buck, but according to my mom the pilot was pretty true to the movie... which is cool! There are so many tv shows based on movies that just don't work because they don't stay true to the movie... but this one stayed pretty true, so that's really good! And its a different spin because obviously John Candy was the original Uncle Buck, he's a white man and its about a white family and this version has a black family. And its also set in a more modern time... so there are different problems then they would have in the original Uncle Buck. A big part of the Pilot had to do with sending a boy she liked a picture with her top down a little bit... and thats a problem that didn't really happen until the last 10 years or so... so its pretty modern!

I think I just like any tv show or movie about girl scout cookies... because the second episode is what I thought was really funny. I'm excited that this is on during the summer because really nothing else is on and all the shows this year look really good! And summers can be hard. Its nice out and everyone is happy... but there are lots of problems in the world right now. There's a lot of sad stuff on the news and sometimes, you just need a good laugh even if its just for a half hour. This was on the Tuesday after the tragedy in Florida and there wasn't anything else that was really uplifting on TV this week... this is just one you could sit down and watch or you could have on in the background and just do whatever and you'll laugh and be happy. Its the type of show I think I needed to see this week and I was really impressed by it.

My parents both liked it also... so its something you can watch with your parents and you'll all like it just the same. And I love those types of shows!

I highly recommend watching this! It's on a little later tonight... so check it out!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
