Tony Talk 2016

So of all the award shows... the Tony's is my favorite. Usually the hosts are really good, its not boring. And I love all the performances! I especially love Hamilton and James Corden... so I'm really excited for this year! I think this will be my version of "live tweeting" and I'll watch the show live and write about it here... or watch it tivoed and write about it here. Whatever works!

The show opened with a message from James Cordon on the recent tragedy... and many winners and presenters respectfully stated their sadness and thoughts on the tragedy. Its a terrible thing that happened and I think everyone took time to reflect the tragedy very nicely. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

I didn't end up live tweeting because I was too into the show lol. But here are some thoughts in snippet form.

- I love James Corden. I thought he was really funny. Typically, I like the hosts of The Tonys because I like theatrical actors. I thought he was funny without being too goofy and I thought he was a lot of fun. I'm just a fan of Corden in general.
-I liked the opening song with the Hamilton cast. I thought that wad funny.
-The skit where Corden was talking about all the broadway stars being known for Law and Order... so funny!
-Corden looks exactly like his parents... lol. Its just going to be me fan-girling over James Corden.
-Okay onto fan-girling about Hamilton.
-Rene Elise Goldberry's speech was great! I like that she said you can have it all. You can be a mother of 2 and still get a Tony. It was sweet.
- The Humans won a lot! I don't really like sad plays though... I appreciate the art form and I think an actor that does any of those plays is probably amazing... but I don't like feeling awkward and voyeuristic and I feel that way with sad plays like that. I haven't seen any really... but I've read some and its weird. I do love The Glass Menagerie though.
- Daveed Diggs won too! Everyone said he was amazing!
-I knew Leslie Odom Jr would win! I'm happy he won!
-They don't give many tonys! There's only one award per play it seems like. Funny.
-Surprised Phillipa Soo did not win for Hamilton. But I'm happy for whoever won... I forget who it was. Lol. But I'm sure they were amazing.
-As much as I loved all the performances... I think there were more plays I wanted to see last season and I liked that more than the nominees performed. I liked the Hamilton Performance, the Waitress Performance was great. The School of Rock performance is always fun to see live, I love the music of Fiddler on the Roof...Spring Awakening was really unique and interesting. Nothing I want to see as much as I want to see Hamilton. Lol. And I'm not going to see that anytime soon cause its too expensive. I will see it one day though!
- I think Fully Committed and An Act of God look really good too... maybe I could see one of those instead of Hamilton. Except I don't think they'll be around around my bday :(
-I liked the Ham 4 Ham thing... but again I kinda think it took away from some of the other performances.
- I was surprised there was no performance of Tuck Everlasting/ I'm happy there was no performance of Tuck Everlasting.
-The Titus commercials for Kimmy Schmiddt were funny.
-The Absolutely Fabulous movie looks good... trailer talk soon!?!?!

So yeah. Overall exciting night! Made up for me not being able to see Hamilton... a little bit.

Byeee!
-Shannon

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
