Scribbles About Music: Last Year Was Complicated by Nick Jonas

Alright lets do a little review on the newest from Nick Jonas. I'm a little biased because we all know I'm going to marry Nick Jonas... so yeah.

I think this is a really great album all in all! Its fun to dance to, theres sort of a fun "in and out of love" theme that I think a lot of people can relate to. Lots of fun sexy songs. What a fun, sexy time for you! (name that quote! Hint: It is NOT Borat!) I do have some favorite and least favorite songs and I have some reasons for that.

Lets just start out with my least favorites... cause its not that I don't like the songs, its not that I don't listen to them or sing along to them... but they just aren't really my favorites for one reason or another.

Champagne Problems- I do like this song... idk I just don't feel like I get it. Like I can get what its about and interpret it... it just isn't a really "Shannon" song.

Chainsaw- I like this song but its one of those typical "I'm a child star going to rebel and be a badass in this song to show I'm 22 now song." It reminds me of Ottowanna go to bed from Kroll Show... lol. Its not bad, but it kinda makes me laugh. And I think Nick Jonas has done a great job transitioning to a grown up with little drama. But its like "Ugh I'm just gonna break everything and say the eff word!"  I feel bad writing this because I am such a fan of Nick Jonas and I don't think he is actually like that at all... but thats just what I think of when I hear this song. I appreciate this title because of Scream Queens. Lol.

Bacon- I feel like this just isn't my song. I like Bacon... but it seems like he's going to say "There's one thing I love more than you and that's bacon." I like it, I'll listen to it, I'll sing along even though I sing wrong cause I say "There's one thing I love more than being with you and thats bacon" lol. Idk just a weird thing.

Favorites

The Difference- This is stuck in my head right now. I really like this song. Its just cool and its a good song. Idk I just like the lyrics, its sexy but its also kinda sweet. Its nice.

Close- How can you not like this one! Its just so good! I usually don't like the singles quite as much, and I thought that I'd be tired of it by now because I've listened to it millions of times... nope! I love it!

Under You- Nick just released a video for this one and I think its awesome! I like the song a lot. Its catchy and goes with the vibe of the album.

Touch- This one is a lot different than the other songs and I think its really good for that. I like how it starts and I just think its good and cute. Lol.

Good Girls- This is one that kinda makes me laugh again... but I think its good. It reminds me of Flight of The Conchords when Jemaine says "Yes, sometimes my lyrics are sexist but you lovely bitches and ho's should know I'm trying to correct this" lol. He's saying "yeah I'm not objectifying you... but this music video probably has a lot of sexy women in it... and I'm not slut shaming I'm just trying to change society." Type of vibe... which you know what, good for Nick Jonas! I think he is trying to change society. He seems like an awesome dude that is comfortable with himself... so that is really cool!

So yeah. Good summer cd. Some great things to listen to. Really like it!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
