Father's Day Gift Guide: 2016

I'm kinda bad at shopping for men... idk its just hard... but here are some good ideas.

Books are always good! If your dad likes history, maybe get him the book that inspired the musical Hamilton! I think that would be a good one. There are also lots of funny-man biographies out. I think Martin Short has one, Patton Oswalt has a book about movies thats good if your dad likes movies, Nick Offerman has a book called "Paddle Your Own Canoe" that seems to be THE father's day book to get. If your dad likes dogs and fiction maybe something like The Art of Racing In The Rain. And Cookbooks are always an option!

Is your dad a Home-Improvement buff like mine? Home Depot Gift Card! Lol might not be the most fun thing ever, but my dad really likes it.

Got a lot of money? Lol. That sounds rude... but its true. Treat your dad to tickets to see Hamilton! That seems to be a musical that dads can get on board with. Lol. Or get him the soundtrack if you can't justify the insane price of tickets. As I've said, its a play that dads would like.

One year we went to a glass blowing place and my sister and I got our hand prints in a marbleized paperweight type of thing. He liked that. Sentimental things like that are always good, pictures of the family that you could frame or create a book of or print on a blanket or something like that. There's a lot you can do with a picture or a handprint, and that will probably be something your dad will love!

I think if you're a kid or you just can't afford a present right now... get creative! Craft, do a coupon book, write something nice for him! Theres a lot you can do with a little bit of stuff... you know!

Dvd's are always good too. My dad likes the Star Wars movies and the Minions... we're a minion-loving family! So really... anything minion related is also good!

If your dad is technologically challenged... or just doesn't understand social media... teach him how to use stuff! That could be fun and dangerous lol... but I think any dad would appreciate that!

Also ALCOHOL! Lol. My dad doesn't drink a whole lot... and honestly we have a lot of alcohol we'll never drink in the house... but still I think thats something dads could appreciate.

And a Fitbit! Thats the gift that everyone needs and no one really knows they need it... so its the perfect gift! Lol.

Hydro Flasks would be good too! Those are good water bottles that work perfectly if you're looking to drink more water, or if you work out a lot.

And yeah... I think those are all my ideas for right now!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
