10 Things To Know About Oscars 2016

So I'm doing more top 10 things lately... and I thought instead of doing a full review, I'd just talk about 10 important things. 1) This years Oscar was controversial because of the lack of diversity. Chris Rock, the host... had no problem addressing this throughout the show. I think he did a good job covering all of the issues and addressing that there needs to be diversity and equality in Hollywood. I thought seeing Rock in The Martian and Tracey Morgan as The Danish Girl was quite funny. A lot of his jokes were about very serious things. but he's Chris Rock, he's probably the funniest person in the world... so obviously he made it work and I don't think anyone doubted that. He's Chris Rock. 2) The Stacy Dash thing... whattt? Ummm... she's a controversial person that I think annoys most people... so I don't know if people were annoyed or happy to laugh at her. If you google Chrissy Teigan's face... thats pretty much the right reaction. 3) I l

Weekly Wrap Up 2.28.16

Hello everyone! Happy Oscars, hope you are enjoying the red carpet and stuff... On with the Weekly Wrap Up Favorites  Crazy Ex- Girlfriend- I love this show. I've been behind since The X Files came on... and I hadn't seen the Christmas Episode... but I caught up a little bit this week and its just such a great show. Its really a good show. Jane The Virgin- I watched this after I finished Crazy Ex Girlfriend... and its just as good. I wasn't thinking the second season was as good... but it got really good. I was team Raphael for a little while... but I'm back to team Michael. I feel bad though because I don't think Raphael will love anyone as much as he loves Jane... so thats kind of sad. The Kingsmen- So I was only half watching... some of this movie... but holy sh*t it was amazing! Its very violent... but I don't think it was violent in a bad way... they did it kind of strategically comical so it didn't totally appear as violent as it was. It was re

Scribbles About Music: Shuffle Itunes and Review the first 7 songs

So here's a new idea that I'm doing now... I'm going to listen to the first 5 songs that shuffle on my apple music and let you know how they are... Alright! 1) Best of Wives and Best of Women from Hamilton Soundtrack- This is such a short song that I'll do the first 6 songs... I like this song a lot because it shows that Alexander and his wife are back together on good terms and it says a lot about their relationships and the situation Alexander is in with Burr in a quick 30 second song. The Line "Best of Wives and Best of Women" was in Alexander's letter to Eliza that he wrote before the duel to I think... it was definitely found in one of the letters he wrote to her... and I think its important that they included it in the play. 2) What Do You Mean by Justin Bieber- This is the reason for my Apple Music... I was too embarrassed to actually commit to this Bieber album... but I wanted it on my phone. I didn't actually like this one at first, but I

Scribbles About Movies: Top 5 Least Favorite and Why

So I think I've done similar things to this before... but I'm going to do it again. These are all of my least favorite movies... that I've seen as an adult at least. I remember as a kid I saw Master and Commander and it was super boring... but I could probably figure out whats going on in it now to at least make it somewhat enjoyable. Some of these movies are critically acclaimed... I just think they're bad. Lol. Take this with a grain of salt... some of my favorite movies are Ghost Rider and Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle... so that gives you an idea. These are in no particular order. 1) Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind- I figure I'll get the one that is probably a lot of people's favorite out first... this was just a real bummer of a movie. I couldn't get behind it... it was just bad. I felt like this was the most miserable movie-watching experience I've ever had because it just made me so sad and angry. I didn't like the characters m

Throwback Thursday: Tenchi Muyo

So this was kinda cool. When I was in 3rd or 4th grade there was this really cool show on Cartoon Network called Tenchi Muyo. And it was animae, but it wasn't overly violent or anything... it was just a cool action-packed tv show that was sort of like a cartoon soap opera... but also sort of with superhero type of stuff. I didn't remember much about it other than it was a cute guy that lived in a house with a bunch of women that all liked him. Thats me describing it as a kid... lol. And there were characters with blue hair and a scientist with pink hair and it was really funny and really cool. But they just aired the same episodes over and over again and never really continued with the show. So that was upsetting. I just watched the first episode so far... so idk if that's really what its about or not... lol. But the first episode was very action-packed but also funny and cool. What I sort of appreciate about it is the way the story is told. It kind of follows all the

Scribbles About TV: Top 10 Favorite TV Shows Of All Time So Far

So... this is an incredibly tough list to make because I watch a ton of tv... but here are my favorites. Comedies, dramas... everything. And my requirements are that it has to have been on for at least a season for me to really judge... so keep that in mind. By next season... I think Crazy Ex Girlfriend Will Be on The list. Also I started writing this a long time ago... and I finished the last one later... so yeah. 1) Arrested Development- This is always going to be a favorite of mine. This is what really got me into tv in the first place and it made me like comedy... and made me want to write... so this is a big deal for me. This is the most brilliant comedy on TV and I don't think anything could ever beat it... although I'm sure some of the shows I'm going to mention come close! 2) Breaking Bad- Breaking Bad is kind of tied with Arrested Development for me... but I'm always going to like Arrested Development more. This show was just so well thought out and suspens

Scribbles About TV: Thoughts on The X Files Revival (Spoilers)

I think I covered most of my thoughts on the X Files Revival when I did the review of the Premiere... but I figured I'd talk about the rest of the episodes and how I feel in general about the series and if I think they should do more or not... I'm sure they're going to do more... but I'll weigh in on it anyway. Lol.  So some of the episodes in this series I thought were some of the absolute best. My favorites were Mulder and Scully meet the Were-Monster and Babylon. The other episodes were really good too... but some of them I found trouble paying attention to... I feel like I lost interest somewhere in the middle with a lot of them... and I'll watch them again, but to me it was sort of needing to find its ground, and the timeline of the series made it a little harder.  I really liked the new characters on the show. I kind of wish there were some more episodes with them in it also. I loved Agent Miller and Agent Einstein, I thought they were great. And I love

Scribbles About Food: Starbucks Butterscotch Latte

As you may know... I like Starbucks... and if they have a new latte, chances are I'm going to try it. I didn't try the Latte Macchiato because I know that'll be too plain for me... and idk if I'm going to try the new Citrus Green Tea thing... cause Green Tea tends to make me poop... so yeah. Lol. Anyway, this was actually really good. It tastes just like you would think a butterscotch latte would taste. Its like a latte with butterscotch syrup... lol. I think this might be a little bit better as a frappuccino or an iced beverage than a latte... but thats sort of personal preference. It tastes a little bit like Butterbeer also... so that is pretty delicious. I feel like this would be good with alcohol. Lol. I'm not the biggest fan of butterscotch... but I found this tasty. It wasn't too overpowering, it was just a little something different and I really liked that about it. Is this a new favorite of mine... no. Idk if I'll even order it again when I g

Weekly Wrap Up 2/21/16

Favorites  Hamilton Soundtrack- I've got to mention this again cause I've been listening to it Non-Stop! Lol. After the Grammy's performance I just couldn't stop listening to it... and its amazing. Not tired of it. There are so many characters and so many songs that I always find a different character to like and sympathize with. Deadpool- I saw this movie and reviewed it and I really liked it. I've gotta say Deadpool is one of my favorite fictional characters and I just really liked the movie. It was pretty cool. Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made Palette- I didn't really want to include any beauty favorites here cause I do have a beauty blog... but this palette is just amazing. The quality and the colors are all so versatile. I didn't think I was going to use it much, so I just "shopped my stash" for it... but its amazing. I've created so many different looks with it and I just really really like it. It makes me feel nice. Highlights

Scribbles About Movies: Deadpool Review

So I really like Deadpool. I don't know all of the comics... I've read a few and I know a little bit about him from  This  youtube channel that sort of puts together some parts of the comics and breaks it down a little bit. So I know a little more about deadpool than most superheroes... and I like Deadpool a little bit better than most superheroes because he's super funny... but also super badass. Also Ryan Reynolds is Super hot... and even as deadpool with his face disfigured... he was still hot... But yeah this may be one of my favorite superhero movies because Deadpool calls out all the heroes on their shit and kind of why I don't love superhero movies. Lol. Deadpool know's he's in a movie, he knows he's a comic book character... he breaks the 4th wall all the time (A fun drinking game for when you get the DVD right?) He's just really funny and the movie was nonstop violence and nonstop jokes. If you see this with your mom... like I did... just

Fitbit Friday 1/29/16-2/18/16

January 29th So far I have 360 steps... lol. Its only 11:30 am tho... so thats not bad. I need to clean my room and I think I'm going out some places today... so we'll see what happens. We pretty much always go out for Pizza Friday night... so I might try to get 10,000 steps before then... and try for 15,000 or 20,000 cause I don't want to lose this challenge! Lol. And I did it! 11,157 Steps total. Still lost the Workweek Hustle challenge... but I don't work so it is quite a challenge. Lol. January 30th  Didn't do well today... at all. Lol. This was just a lazy saturday. I watched 10 Things I Hate About You and went out to dinner... and that was that. Lol. Really bad... but some days you just need a lazy day. January 31st  Yes! I got 10,254 steps because I went to the movies and saw Star Wars and we parked far away from the movie theater to get more steps... and I did a lot that day in general I think... so it wasn't bad! I liked it! February 1st  Th

Scribbles About Music: Death of a Bachelor (by Panic at the Disco) Album Review

Panic at the Disco has always been one of my favorite bands and they have some good and some bad albums... and this may be their best yet! I believe this is the first album without Spencer Smith... so the only original member of the band in this album is Brendon Urie. Jon Walker also not in this, he wasn't the original bass player, but he took over for someone else... so pretty much Brendon Urie is the only person on this album I know in the band and he's always been in the band... ... And I think he IS the band. I would say the worst album from Panic at the Disco is Pretty Odd... I think most people would agree... it just didn't really work... but Urie's voice is still amazing in that and makes it actually tolerable. Lol. And I was upset when Ryan Ross left Panic because I thought he was a great writer. I really loved A Fever You Can't Sweat out... but I think they've gotten even better since he left. And its sad to say that I really didn't want to li

February 2016: It List

It List Time already!!! Lets get to it! 1) The X Files- I'm really liking the new X Files series and it might be done by now... I think there should be one episode left by the time I post this... but its been so fun. It might not be as good as the original series... but I think a lot of the episodes and characters are a little more fun. Its fun to see skeptical Mulder. I just really like it a lot! 2) The People vs. OJ Simpson- I like this show a lot. At the time there's only been one episode... but its really good. Its a lot less frustrating than things like American Horror Story because you kind of know the ending... but then again it is a little frustrating because Nicole Brown Simpson's killer was never really brought to justice. If it was OJ or if it wasn't... no one knows who it is and thats scary. Its really well done and it doesn't seem biased which is really cool. Its really well done and the best actors are in it...so I highly recommend it. 3) Hamilto

Grammy Gossip 2016

So... I have Superbowl Scoop and I like having these alliterative. I'm not a huge fan of music, but I'm excited for Lady Gaga's tribute to David Bowie, so I'm going to watch mostly for that. And I didn't even know Hamilton was performing! That was really really good too... we'll talk about that. Lol. So lets talk about the reason why I wanted to watch: The performances! And they were all so good! I've never listened to Kenderick Lamar... but he was Amazing! The performance was really really cool and he was amazing! I've seen a lot of people saying he should win for Album of the Year and I can totally see that. I haven't listened to it yet, but as someone who doesn't listen to much rap or hip hop... I can totally see that. From what he performed... I downloaded it right after lol! On Apple Music, so I don't have to commit... but it was really good. Alright so speaking of rap... You all know how much I love Hamilton. I've mentioned it m

Chart Chat 2/15/16- Movies, iTunes Movies, and Books

Excited about this week's Chart Chat... I had a feeling it would be an exciting week for the movie charts because a lot was coming out and one movie in particular was shaking things up... can you guess what movie??? Movies  5) The Reve nant- This is the first time since its release that Star Wars has not been in my Chart Chats!!! I love Star Wars. And this has been out for a while also and has been doing very well for an Academy Award Nominated movie. People love Leonardo Dicaprio... so even if this doesn't end up winning any of the big oscars... I think this is the biggest Box Office success of them all. Mad Max was maybe a little more successful... but this one has certainly been successful! 4) Zoolander 2- This movie hasn't been received greatly by the critics... but I don't think the original Zoolander was either... lol. I'm probably going to wait till this is on TV to watch it cause it might ruin the original for me and I don't want to pay money for s

Weekly Wrap Up: Valentines Day Edition

So this weeks wrap up is on V-Day... so why not just call it a Valentines Edition and call it a day. Favorites Starbucks Molten Chocolate Latte- You need this in your life. I think today might be the last day to get these... so get them! I know this is kinda late in the day... but find an open Starbucks after your Valentine's Day date and get this! Its yummy. Reading Magazines- I've mentioned on my reading list that I had a few magazines I wanted to read... but this week I feel like I've been liking reading in general... but magazines especially. I'm subscribed to a few because I ordered something online and they started sending me a few for free... and right now I just kind of like reading them cover to cover because I like learning different things. I feel like its more interesting if I just read anything regardless of whether or not I'm really interested in it because I'll learn something new and different. I like being forced out of my comfort zone. I a

What Not To Do On a First Date

Valentine's Day is here... here are some things I don't think you should do. Also I'm single... so take my advice with a grain of salt. Lol. 1) Text/ call your ex girlfriend- In High School I was on a pseudo date with a guy that just broke up with someone and it was a terrible date all in all... but the worst part was when I saw a text message from his ex girlfriend... there is no reason for you to be texting your ex on a first date because that will just make the person you're dating feel bad. So... yeah. 2) Talk about controversial topics- I sort of brought up something that I shouldn't have on a first date and then the guy sort of said he believed in a conspiracy theory... and that date actually went well... but when I tell my friends this story they're like "Yeah... thats weird Shannon." So even though I'm the exception to this rule because that relationship did last a long time... its not something I'd do again. I have a lot of weird f

Valentines Day Gift Guide!

So I did one of these for my other blog and I thought... meh I can do it here too. I'm not a big believer in Valentines Day Gifts... I'm pretty simple and would be fine with dinner and a movie... but not everyone is... so here are a few ideas. If you want to see more beauty related ideas you can check out that blog right  here ... but here we go! Valentines Day Survival Kit  One thing I'm going to recommend that I mentioned in the other post too... but if you have a significant other and your friend is going to be spending Valentines Day alone... maybe for Galentine's Day, February 13th... you could get her a few cute little gifts to cheer her up. I suggested some chick flicks, maybe some magazines or books. Tea or wine maybe... Cookies and candy and some nail polish and face masks would all be good. You could even get a best friends necklace or something. When I came up with this idea I thought "Ohh this might be mean" but I'm single and I thought of i
