The Politician Season 1 Review

So I started watching this show The Politician just because I saw my mom and my grandma watching it and I realized it was Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuck- just by the cast of characters and then my grandma started watching it at home so I was like "ohh maybe I should watch this with my mom" and then I got really hooked... and my dad even started watching it... and it's just really funny. And a fun show to watch.

So the first season and second season are actually quite different. The first season takes place in a high school and the second season takes place in New York. And both seasons kind of follow the same format as far as episodes go... but they're really different and the first season actually reminded me a lot of Glee- which was also Murphy/Falchuck.

The first season focuses Benn Platt- Payton's school election for President... and it's a very elite school with very gifted and talented students- so the high school election is very high stakes but at the end of the day... when they show the winner of the election as school president... it is just a high school election and they can't even accomplish anything simple.

And the characters in this show are all REALLY good. They're all so funny and different and it makes sense that they're all friends and that they all have this really strong bond that is really kind of crazy and it's just really interesting. I feel like the cast and the characters are different than anything I've seen on TV and... it just really makes the show so good!

There is also one episode that has a different character's view on this world and the election- there's a similar episode in the second season and I imagine any season they have it keeps on going like that. I like when shows do this- Master of None was a good show that did this a couple of times I think. It just changes things up a bit and they did it in a really good way both season.

So... yeah! That is everything. This season has Jessica Lange- who is great... but the second season has Bette Midler and Judith Light and they are so funny in the show... and hopefully they're in a third season also if that happens.

This is definitely the hidden gem of Netflix and Ben Platt is just handsome and fun to look at... so I like watching it for that too lol. Great show! Definitely recommend!

Ohh no I have one more thing- I was a little scared to watch a show called The Politician because I thought it would be about politics and I was watching it with my parents and we don't 100% have the same political views... but it's not something awkward to watch together. It really isn't about political views at all- the only thing they really talk about is the environment. And the way they show that 1) Is informative on how to live a life with a small carbon footprint 2) shows how crazy everything is.

Alright THAT is everything! I hope you guys like this review... more on it next week... and I'll see you tomorrow for a Weekly Wrap Up... Probably!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
