Movie Monday: The Art of Racing In The Rain

So every once and a while there will be a movie that just kind of changes the way you look at things and it's one you'll always remember and think about. I think The Art of Racing In The Rain is one of those movies for me.

My mom read the book a long time ago and she kind of gave away a lot of details to the book... so it sort of made me not want to read it until I forgot a lot of the details she told me. And I was going to do that... but then the movie came out and I got the dvd for her birthday and I'm really happy that we own it now because it's a really special movie and I think they did a good job with it.

I will probably still read the book- there are a lot of other books I need to read too but I'll definitely add this on a list of things to read soon because... it was just a great movie. I don't really think you need to love dogs or have a dog to enjoy it because there's so much about life in the movie too that I think it's just a good one to watch. Of corse I love dogs and I do have a dog and I had a dog that's passed away so this is something that would interest me anyway but... it's just such a great story.

And if you don't know what it's about its the story of life told from the point of view of a very smart dog named Enzo. Enzo's owner is a race car driver named Denny. Through Enzo's eyes we see Denny fall in love and marry his wife Eve. We see Eve give birth to their daughter Zoe, and we see Eve get very sick with Cancer. I don't want to say too much about everything that happened but his in laws are very terrible to him and... seeing everything through Enzo's point of view is just really nice and it's sweet.

Overall I loved this movie. I thought the cast was really great and it made me cry a lot. It's a really sweet movie that I hope everyone can take the time to watch or read the book.

Bye!

Blogmas Day 12: The 12 Days of Christmas Gift Guide

So I thought it would be fun to do a gift guide that every gift corresponds with the price. So like for the first day of Christmas $1 gift that would be good and then up from there. These would be good stocking stutterers and things I just think are unique. $1- Solar Powered Dancers!  My mom loves getting the little dancing solar powered people. We get most of ours from Dollar tree... other dollar stores have them too, they're super cute and fun for $1. Its good to put near any plants that you have that way you know they're getting sunlight. It's a good gift. $2- Mini Coloring Book!  At 5 Below they had some mini travel sized coloring books for $2. I thought these were pretty cool. I got the Botanical one I believe. Really cute and fun! I would recommend! $3-   Ceramic Truck w/ Christmas Tree  I saw this at the Target Dollar Spot and I thought it was cute and would probably make a great gift. If you know someone who has a truck or likes the sort of "rustic C...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...

Scribbles about Books: Horns by Joe Hill

I picked this book up not too long ago because after seeing the trailer for the movie and seeing it was based on a book I thought "Hey, that looks good. I should read the book." Then my friend gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday and I thought "Hey I wanted to read Horns, I should grab that." And I did, and I had to read it around halloween of corse! So this is my kind of horror story first of all. I love that the universe it takes place in is very realistic and very small-town. If you've noticed in some of my other book reviews... I like mysteries that take place in small towns. And its very believable because the world and the characters are all so real. I think its a good book just for that. The book starts out with this guy Ignatious, or Ig a year after his girlfriend Merrin is murdered. He grows horns from out of his head... for no real reason. And then a few chapters in we find out who really did it and then we find out why and that thi...
