The Office Theory: Was Michael Scott Trapped? The Dinner Party

You guys remember The Dinner Party right? The episode of the office where to loosely quote Jim "Michael and Jan seem to be having a contest to see who can make us more uncomfortable... and they're both winning." But unfortunately for Jim and Pam, this dinner party needed to happen... with all the parties present.

First off- let's talk about the timing of this episode. It happens right after Jan's lawsuit against Dunder Mifflin in which Michael is caught in the middle... not knowing whether to side with his girlfriend Jan or with the company that has been good to him for years. In the end... the Company ends up winning- which 1) Makes sense because Jan was fired because she's crazy- not because she got a boob job 2) The Company would have probably went bankrupt if Jan had won... and Michael would be out of a job... and Jan would have broken up with him and he would have lost a lot of money. And he was nice enough to let Jan move in with him after Dunder Mifflin fired her! He even took a second job at one point because she wasn't making any money! Michael was good to Jan! He deserved better!

Anyway- so... tensions were high in the Scott/ Levinson household. And Michael needed to get out of that relationship.... so what did he do... He invited his friends to a dinner party.

And sure Dwight would have come over whenever- and if Michael had even told him he was having trouble with Jan- Dwight would have been there for him. Jan knew that- so she didn't want him to invite Dwight to the party. She said it would have to be couples only and they only have 6 wine glasses. Okay... Michael has Andy and Angela and Jim and Pam... Really I think he just needs Jim and Pam... but Andy and Angela would avoid suspicion.

Jim and Pam aren't easy people to get to your party though. Michael needed to ensure it-so he said that Corporate made them work late and then he "called" to cancel... but there was no corporate assignment to work late... so they now had no excuses to not go to the Dinner Party.

Michael and Jan weren't trying to be uncomfortable... that's just how they were together because Jan is crazy. And Michael needed Jim and Pam to see how she was treating him... and they did. And Jan kind of went crazier because of this and that's why they ended up breaking up.

That's probably not what really happened... Michael really loved Jan and she kind of idealized her. And really- the dinner party was probably Jan's idea because she wanted investors for Serenity by Jan and Michael asked Jim and Andy to invest... but maybe that's what Michel told Jan he was doing so that he could really just show them how bad it was for him... probably not though. Michael isn't smart enough for that and he really was too sweet to do that to Jan.

That is however what we had to see to really see what Michael and Jan's home life was like. And we did get small glimpses of it all through the season up to that point- but obviously this episode was where it all really came to light and I think that's why its so many people's favorite episode.

That's just what I think! Let me know what you think about it!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
