Friends Friday: Phoebe Buffay- The Greatest Artist of Our Generation

So on Friends Friday I'm going to post WHATEVER I want about Friends. I've seen every episode of Friends at least a million times and it's a show I pretty much watch daily- lately I've been watching it pretty much all day... so there are things I pick up on. Sure the episodes are still the same as they've always been... but I change every time I watch an episode. So with that... let's do a little bit of a Phoebe Buffay Appreciation Post!

Phoebe might be my favorite Friend. It has switched a lot over the years... but I feel like if you asked someone that knew me which friend I was most like... they'd probably say Phoebe. In fact I'm pretty sure my roommate my sophomore year of college said "Yeah, you're definitely a Phoebe" and I don't think she knew me that well really... but she lived with me and I appreciated the thought of her thinking me like a Phoebe.

So aside from my personal connection with Phoebe- She really is a talented person! Her main job is a masseuse... but she also taught herself guitar and she does art work... and that includes her masterpieces Gladys and Glynnis.

So Gladys and Glynnis are 2 paintings Phoebe made of women coming out of paintings. And they are a little scary- but I think these are really cool. I would put these up in my house- I'm not even going to lie lol. So it looks like these have mannequin pieces- but I think Gladys also has some paper mâché in there too... maybe I'm wrong but for the sake of me making connections- there's some paper mâché in there. These 2 are featured heavily in "The One With Ross's Grant" where Mike and Phoebe get engaged and he makes her get rid of these 2 paintings before he moves in. She gives Gladys to Monica- who then pawns her off on Rachel and the two try to go back and forth with each other and... it's really funny.

Anyway why is the paper mâché so important? Phoebe also has a song that was featured in The One With Joey's New Girlfriend- which is when Phoebe gets sick and has a sexy voice- that is called "Paper Mâché Man" in which the lyrics are "I'm still waiting for my paper mâché  man." Are Gladys and Glynnis coming out of the painting because they're waiting for their paper mâché man? Is that why Rachel tells them that they're haunted and they try to haunt Joey? Who knows!

Anyway I just thought this was a fun connection... even if it isn't a connection... I still think Phoebe Buffay may just be the greatest artist of our generation.

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
