Book Review- A Sucky Love Story:Overcoming Unhappily Ever After by Brittani Louise Taylor

I feel like it's hard to really "Review" this book because it is based off a true story and it is a heartbreaking story about Domestic Abuse about this man that Brittani fell in love with and had a child with that was just a horrible person.

The story starts out pretty normal... Brittani met him on Tinder and she didn't totally trust him at first because he asked her out and then he didn't talk to her at all the day they were supposed to go out. She agreed to meet with him anyway and he just kind of kept asking her out. She had her guard up at first, but eventually he told a little more of his story and Brittani fell for him completely.

Now I had watched Brittani's videos for years and she had always mentioned that she was waiting until marriage to... well you know. So when she posted a video called "I'm engaged and pregnant" I was a little shocked... and to be honest the story felt a little sudden and kind of strange. They were "engaged" before she got pregnant I think? But it was just very sudden and the story seemed kind of... weird.

My thoughts on that aside... the book kind of explains everything that was happening behind those videos. All of his verbal abuse, the fights with his mom, the lies about... basically every aspect of his life. I don't really want to spoil the book... but the man Brittani meets in the beginning of the story is just someone that her fiance made up... Brittani still doesn't know if a lot of the details he was telling were true or not. There was a woman that claimed to be his mother... but at the end of the book she wasn't so sure. She also wasn't sure if he really was a doctor or not... or if his name was even real. There was just a lot that she admits at the end of the book to this day she still has no idea.

I really don't want to give too many details of this story because I really want everyone to go and read this for yourselves. It's hard to find now- but it is available on Barnes and Noble (their website and in some stores)  and she's rushing to reprint it now. But Brittani is a really fantastic writer. She has a good true story to tell and she's a great narrator. Her voice in the book is so strong... I don't listen to audiobooks, but this one would probably be a great one because she's finally getting her voice out there and she has a really strong voice because of it.

This book is amazing. Highly recommend... it does not take long to read at all because it is so suspenseful you kind of need to read it all at once... it is just a great one.

Bye! Hope you like this review!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
