Barnes and Noble Haul: January 13th 2019

Sorry! I didn't get to post yesterday- it was my niece's birthday party and I was just super busy... so I didn't get a chance to blog... I'll try posting another blog tonight to make up for it... but I did go to Barnes and Nobles and I thought you guys would like another little haul from there!

First off I looked at the Bargain Books in the front and my boyfriend discovered that they had a signed copy of Judy Blume's "In The Unlikely Event" for 6.98... and I thought "You know what- I'll get it!" For that price- it's definitely worth it! I didn't know that it was also a first edition! The book looked slightly beat up... but still! That is not a bad price. I wanted to read this when it first came out- I think it's based off of a true story that happened in New Jersey. Judy Blume is from NJ, I'm from NJ... so it's probably going to be a fun story to read for that.

And the bargain books were 2 for $10... so I looked around just to see if there was anything else worth getting and I found something called Survive The Night by Danielle Vega. This is a murder mystery about a woman who reluctantly goes to an all night rave in a subway tunnel just after getting out of rehab... and at the party she finds her friends dead body. So... that sounded suspenseful and interesting. Reminds me a little bit of something like "Hellfest" but this sounds actually good.

I also got a Where's Waldo Calendar for my mom... fun fact: Every year my mom gets a Where's Waldo Calendar... but we couldn't find one this year- so I got her one! It was half off!

Also Half off was the Badass Planner... I know- I really don't need another planner right now at all... but this one seemed fun and it had stories to kind of make me think a little more creatively. I just liked it. Plus it is a lot more goal oriented than the other calendars I have... other than my Bullet Journal. I just think its cool.

So that is everything! I hope you guys like this little book haul! I'll probably have some more reviews soon!

Bye!
-Shannon

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
