So... there's a bit of a prologue as to why I decided to watch this video for Throwback Thursday... but I did...
Here is the link to the OK Go video in case you're like me and have never seen it!
Prologue
You guys know I love Crazy Ex Girlfriend and I've been watching that a lot lately and listening to all the music videos. Well there's a song called Thought Bubbles in which Josh freaks out at being alone and thinks of every bad thought he can think of and every doubt he has. It's a really clever song, it's one of my favorites from the show. It's a laid back Smash Mouth type of song about a guy freaking out about every little thing. And it's just really funny. He mentions things being "complex like videos from OK Go" and I was like "Hmmm... never really saw that video as complex. I'll have to watch it sometime."
Flash forward several weeks later... I started liking Britney Spears out of no where... that's where last week's Throwback Thursday came from... and then I had thought bubbles similar to Josh Chans "I used to like guacamole now I don't like guacamole. What if I stop liking other things too. Like what if I stop liking my mom. If it worked on guacamole it could work on my mom." So now I'm like "ohhh no! What's going to happen now that I like Britney Spears?"
And Now The Review...
So it is sort of a complex video I guess... it looks very simple and cheap and there's really just the guys on the treadmills aspect of it... but it is a complicated routine to do I guess... so maybe it's just that... but you can start seeing layers to the song with the video too.
Like they get off the treadmill when they say "You've hit a curb" and they keep moving in the same direction when they talk about monotony and I think they say things are perpetual... like the treadmill.
Plus they're 4 guys and the 2 guys look pretty much alike and the other 2 guys look sort of similar too so it's like a mirror image... and the band is called OK GO and there are just 4 guys on these treadmills and it's like someone said "Ok go!" And they just started doing this dance that went perfectly with the song and it all just worked really well.
So yeah... I was never the biggest fan of the song to be honest... and thankfully I'm still not really that big a fan... but I will agree with Josh Chan... it is kind of complex like my thoughts. Lol.
Let's just hope I still like Britney Spears and don't like OK Go by the time this blog is posted... because it might not work that way.
Byeee!
