Chart Chat 4.10.17

My favorite time of week... well not really but I do love writing these! Chart Chats! I'll regret saying that when we get to Kong Skull Island and I have to say something relatable about it... lol.

10) The Case for Christ- This is it's first week on the charts... it gained 3.9 million dollars this week. Haven't heard of it before... but this is the description from IMDB- "An investigative journalist and a self-proclaimed atheist sets out to disprove the existence of God after his wife becomes Christian. One of the writers for this is Brad Bird- not the Pixar Brad Bird... but he wrote for Touched by An Angel... so it's one of those religious movies that they release around Easter so that church groups can go... It probably isn't released in every theater... but I'm sure it'll be a little bit higher on the charts next week.

9) Get Out- This has been on the charts for 7 weeks... and honestly, I have not gotten tired of talking about it yet! I just want it to leave theaters so that I can buy it on Blu Ray and watch it at home because I don't think anyone wants to see this with me. Lol. I'm really proud of Jordan Peele for this directorial debut being such a success... you can tell from the trailer that he really worked hard on it and did a great job!

8) Logan- The newest X Men movie... the final bow for whats his name... Hugh Jackman! Totally slipped my mind lol! Anyway it's his last stand... lol. His last X Men movie- I'm just making X men puns now... anyway yeah his last X Men Wolverine movie... it's good from everything everyone is saying. I'm going to try watching this without seeing any other X Men movies and see if I like it. Maybe I'll review it for you guys... maybe I will never see it at all... lol.

7) Kong Skull Island- I think I need to start doing a series where I watch one of these movies that I just wait to get off the charts every day for a week just to see what happens. Kind of like "The Worst Idea of All Time" but every day one week instead of every week for a year. That would be really funny... and I think it could work!

6) Power Rangers- This looks pretty good. I like Power Rangers... I have a feeling I won't like this movie much though... so it might go to the same category as Kong... so yeah!

5) Ghost in The Shell- This would definitely be in the same category... but I don't think I want to support this movie... so there!

4) Going In Style- This looked like a really funny movie. I always complain about a lot of movies like this because there are a lot of movies where old men hit on young girls and the girls are portrayed as objects and they're just like "Wow, you're old thats hot." And it's just really bad... this doesn't look like that at all. So... I'm all for this movie. It's been getting bad reviews- but my grandfather and Uncle seemed to like it a lot!

3) Smurfs: The Lost Village- This looks like a lot of fun! I'm glad they stopped with the live action Smurf movies and they've started with these... the cast of voice actors looks really funny. The plot with the lost village of Girl Smurfs looks really funny. I think it looks like a great cartoon and I'm excited to see this sometime.

2) Beauty and the Beast- 4th week on the charts- 2nd week at Number 2... this movie was great! It's the last movie that I saw... probably the last new movie I'll see in a long time... and it's just amazing. Love the style- love the songs... it's a great one!

1) Boss Baby- Slightly shocked that Boss Baby is #1 for a second week! Go figure! I think it is like I said last week- it's a kids movie... plus older kids and adults would probably even like seeing it because Alec Baldwin is at the top of his game right now and it has a "Family Guy" vibe to it. I don't like Family Guy and I don't think this movie looks that cute... it probably would make me laugh because my sister just had a baby... but I don't think I'll see it... It doesn't really look like something I would like particularly... but I can understand the appeal of this!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
