Scribbles About TV: Nobodies Review

TV Land has been coming up with more and more interesting original series. I haven’t seen Younger yet… but that looks interesting. From what I’ve seen of Throwing Shade, it is AMAZING… and most recently they have this show created by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.

Now this one is a little bit different… I like it a lot, but whereas something like Trial and Error I can say “If you love Arrested Development and Parks and Rec, you’ll love this!” Or with Imaginary Mary… which I don’t necessarily think I mentioned in the review… but I would compare it to Lizzie McGuire or Trophy Wife… and Elfman’s character is almost reminiscent of Dharma… so if you liked Dharma, then you might like this too.

Nobodies I would recommend if you are a writer, a filmmaker… or if you just liked things before they got popular. I don’t necessarily think everyone that loved Identity Theif of The Boss would love this… but if you like behind the scenes types of shows… you might like this. It reminds me of very early episodes of Arrested Development and 30 Rock.

And it seems like something that will be cool… but it’s going to take a while to catch on… like Arrested Development and 30 Rock. I’m sure it’ll still be on TV Land for a while… but it probably is an expensive show… and I can’t really seeing this being something that everyone will love. I’m not even sure I can tell if I love it from just the Pilot… but I’ll sort of explain why I do like it.

It’s not really laugh out loud funny… but it does start out funny and it gets progressively funnier as the show goes on. Like at the beginning these 3 “nobodies” are at a Groundling’s show with very famous people… then they have a meeting with someone and they say they have Melissa McCarthy signed on for their movie, then they try giving the script to Melissa’s husband Ben Falcone, and then they try pitching it to Jason Bateman… and it just gets better and better. It’s really well paced and it just makes it really come together at the end of the episode. It just makes it so funny and good!

I think that’s it. I’m liking this, I’ll continue watching it… it isn’t my favorite show in the world… but it might be one of my favorites on right now… and I just liked it as a whole. It’s a good one.

So I recommend checking this out at least… and if the pilot doesn’t really make you laugh… maybe check out something like Trial and Error and then check back. It’s really something I think a lot of people will talk about soon.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
