Song Of The Day- April 29th 2015

This is something I did for a while on an older blog... and I thought I would start doing it here because its super easy to do and I just really like it... so here is a Hump Day Throwback for ya! My Humps by The Black Eyed Peas Thats right! The Black Eyed Peas classic song in my opinion which they played at all of my middle school dances... although it was edited so much it made no sense... but was still wildly inappropriate! Lol. I started thinking of this last night cause for some reason I got it stuck in my head... but whenever I sing it out loud, I don't sing the regular version, I sing the Will Ferrell version from Blades of Glory which is wayy funnier and I guess somehow more catchy than this one. Lol. Soooo... this song I feel like is kind of incredibly sexist... but also it kind of did something that I think is good for women in the long run. The lyrics are pretty much saying that women only like guys for money and guys only like women for their butts and boobs... w

Scribbles About Food: Starbucks S'mores Frap

Okay... this is a pretty monumental day... not only are the new S'mores frappuccino's out... but you can drink them through a free cookie straw... Madness. So I was like super super pumped about this because S'mores and frappucino's are 2 of the major Shan Food groups... which is pretty much just the stuff that Michelle Obama tells you not to eat... so yeah. Lol. Anyway I was pretty excited for this. I thought it would taste... mostly like marshmallow and graham crackers with maybe a hint of chocolate... but then my friend texted me and said "hey the new s'mores frap is amazing" and this friend lovesss chocolatey things so I was like "wow this is probably going to be pretty chocolatey." And it absolutely was. It has an amazing marshmallow base and then chocolate syrup and then this chocolately coffe-y flavored drink and then whipped cream and graham crackers on top... its an experience to drink and it does have a sophisticated flavor like C

Scribbles About News- 4/26/15

I might try this a little differently this week cause I feel like a lot of the news kind of intersects... idk I just feel like maybe I won't do any "headlines" this week, I think I'm just going to kind of free-write it. So something important that has been hyped up a TON this week is the Bruce Jenner interview with Diane Sawyer. You couldn't have not heard about this interview, it was everywhere they showed millions of commercials for it and... yeah. I didn't actually watch it because A) They showed all of the important parts on the commercial and I knew I'd hear the important parts about it on the news and whatnot B) I kind of don't think they should have aired it after the car accident... if I were the family of the victims it would upset me that the person that killed my loved ones is getting positive publicity. C) I felt like a lot of what they would be talking about is the Kardashian family as a whole... and I'm over that. It seems like they
Working on a creative writing/fanfictiony type of series about dead tv characters at a hospital all together. Its going to be weird... I don't think all of the characters will be the way they act on tv... There are going to be definite spoilers to Grey's Anatomy... including Last Night's episode, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Trueblood, Scandal probably, Game of Thrones and probably a lot more. I'm probably not going to stick to the way the characters acted on the show in my little thing and I'm probably going to use a ton of fake medical jargon in it... lol. I'm going to try to have the first installment of this series up today... it might not be till Monday or Tuesday though... so just keep that in mind I guess. Lol. Not really sure how I'm even going to start writing this. It will be funny. That is for sure. So yeah. There is that. See you later? Maybe lol. Byeee! -Shannon P.S I'm just "working on this"... I will keep you updated to whet

Scribbles About Life: A Day in the Life of Shannon April 23rd 2015 (Grey's Anatomy+Scandal Spoilers)

So today started pretty normal. My dog scratched on my door early in the morning to wake me up, I stayed out with him for a little bit, then went back to sleep. I woke up a few hours later and then I did stuff. I had a coffee Donut House Chocolate Glazed donut coffee or somethin like that... its awesome. I just got it yesterday and I'm already likin it a lot. Then my mom came home with a sandwich for me to eat for lunch and we went shopping. Went to The Dollar Tree, which we love and we got solar-powered hoola girls then Harmon. I got make up brushes and the ELF make up lock and seal thingy which was on sale... which is like a primer I guess or like something to make shadows more pigmented or apply better or something... not really sure, but I've heard its good with Colourpop's eyeshadows and I love them and want them to show up as good as possible... so I got that. Now at Harmon... there was a line. A lonnnnnnnggggg line. It was not the employees fault at all. They wer

Woman Crush Wednesday: Julia Louis Dryfuss

1) She's always been funny- As long as I have existed Julia Louis Dryfuss has been one of the funniest people on the planet. There are lots of funny people... but JLD wins at life I think. Seinfeld? Amazing. Probably one of the first really funny women I've ever seen on tv. The New Adventures of Old Christine? Still awesome! It got cancelled too soon and I think its A) kind of a good thing because she's done other things since then and B) If it had actually had a final season with Christine going to college, that would have been the funniest thing ever. I could see it getting repetitive a little bit... but everyone on the show was amazing and it still makes me laugh in repeats. And Veep? Just one of the best shows on tv right now... and I think I'm going to do a whole post on Veep because I didn't used to like it and now I absolutely love it. And I always loved her on it and I just think its really cool that she plays the president now. Lol. 2) The Old Navy Commer

this is my post

So I'm having a good day and stuff... but I don't feel like posting. Lol. How are you guys? I watched Veep today, had a nice lunch with my mom and went to sephora and I think I'm going to paint my nails soon cause I got new nail polish at sephora and I want to test it all right away... lol. So yeah. That is where I am at. Byeee! -Shannon

Tag: Would You Rather

Soooo I decided to do a tag for my other blog Scribbles About Beauty because that looked fun... and I love Would You Rather scenarios... so I'm doing a Would You Rather here too... Idk if these are mostly beauty related or not... I haven't read it yet! I found this on a blog called Tags for Everybody... so yeah.  Would you rather walk around all day with you skirt tucked in your underwear or be seen wearing a really see through dress? Well... if you have a skirt tucked into your underwear... everyone will see your business... if you have a really see through dress I feel like your business is more covered and less obvious... so I'm going with see through dress. Would you rather go to a party and not realize until the end of the night that you have lipstick on your teeth or that your fake lashes are coming unglued? I don't really wear fake lashes... but I hate when you can see someones lashes coming off. I feel like lipstick on the teeth is an easier fix... I don

Scribbles About News: 2nd week of April 2015

1) Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake welcome first son into the world + 65 year old pregnant with quadruplets? - I always feel weird writing the "headlines" on these posts... idk lol. I love Justin and Jessica they are awesome, talented, and beautiful and they now have a son named Silas Randall which is funny because i keep wanting to say "Silas Ramsbottom."  because of Despicable Me 2. Congrats to the Timberlake Family on that little guy! In creepier baby news, a 65 year old woman from Germany who is a mother of 13 claims that she is pregnant with quadruplets... weird... the pregnancy was a surprise to her, the woman says. She decided to have another baby when her youngest child who is 9 asked for a baby brother or sister. Wow. That kid gets what they want! Lol. The pregnancy has been going fine and she seems happy. You can read the buzzfeed article  here  because I don't want to attempt spelling her name... lol. So... that is pretty cool. 2) Hillary Clint

Scribbles About TV: 2nd week of April 2015

Started off watching The Grace Helbig show because I forgot it was on on Friday and I missed it, so I watched it basically right after I posted my scribbles about TV last week. I love this show. Its such a good talk show. Very different than any other show out right now... I compare it a little to Comedy Bang Bang but its really a lot different still, its just similar in set to CBB I guess. If you like talk shows and the internet, this is a good show for you! The Last Man on Earth. Favorite show currently. I like it at an hour long, but I can see where it is a little much. I'm happy it got renewed for a second season already. I really didn't think this would be that good, but its awesome and I've really been liking it. I love that Carol added a dog to the Monet painting. I watched Tuesdays New Girl episode. Really funny. I love Winston and his date story was funny. I really liked the Jess and Fawn story and I really felt Jess's side of the argument was really relata

Review: Undisclosed: The State v Adnan Syed

I'm a big fan of the podcast Serial... I know a lot of people are and the ending was unsatisfying because there is no closure of the story yet. We don't know whether Adnan did it or not... but basically it seems like he shouldn't be convicted because there is no real evidence pointing at him. Just because it seems to make sense that it was him doesn't exactly mean he should go to jail... in my opinion at least. Regardless, when I heard about this new podcast I was interested. Its not serial part 2... it doesn't necessarily answer any questions that Serial didn't answer... but it does give a lot of backround information that serial didn't give. Plus it is from the perspective of a lawyer and not a journalist, so that makes it more of a legal podcast than a narrative the way that Serial was. Its also very biased. Its put together by a group for the innocence of Adnan Syed and the main narrator of the podcast the "Sarah" if you will has known Adnan

April 2015: It List!

1) Spontaneanation with Paul F Tompkins- New Podcast alert! And my favorite of the moment. I love Paul F Tompkins on Comedy Bang Bang, I think he's really funny. This podcast is really different because he'll have a guest on and they'll have an interview and the guest will suggest a location and then a group of improvisers will do a long form sketch that takes place in that location and that brings up some themes that interviewers have discussed or that Paul discussed with them or something like that... its really amazing. I've done improv and this makes me miss it. Its really a good podcast, I highly recommend you listen to it. His guests are good and interesting too! 2) The Grace Helbig Show- I love this show! It is just a great talk show. I think Grace does an awesome job and her guests are all really really good. I love that she doesn't play it cool like "yeah I'm totally comfortable being a big talk show host." She made an introvert's talk s

Scribbles About News: Trend of Bad Parenting?

I feel like everything I've seen on the news the past couple of days is about bad parenting... and it seems like its a new trend almost. People being bad parents and getting on the news about it... lol. Idk I just feel like I want to talk about some of these things. A few months ago there was a report on a woman that did "free range parenting." Where she didn't take her kids to school or pick them up... she just let them wonder for 20 minutes and hoped they came back in one piece... wtf? I am not a parent... but there has to be at least a little bit of effort going into it. At least when your kids are that young. You only have your kids for 18 years... pay attention to them. Take them to school! Pick them up from school. There are lots of bad people in the world, especially in this day and age... if you live that far away from the school get off your ass and pick your kids up. And she's all "its for their independence blah blah blah" but no. I think th

Man Crush Monday: Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon is one of my favorite talk show hosts... and I pretty much like all the late night talk show hosts... so that is saying a lot. (I haven't actually watched James Cordin yet, but I have a huge crush on him from Into The Woods, so yeah. I also have a crush on Seth Meyer though... And all the comedy central guys... ugh. Lol. and obviously Jimmy Fallon. Lol.) So yeah... this is saying a lot that he is one of my favorites. 1) He genuinely acts like he has the most fun job in the world-  Jimmy Fallon is always really excited about the show. He pretty much does have the most fun job ever, and he actually appreciates it. He was on SNL, and when he left SNL for late night he was excited and proud of his job, and now on The Tonight Show he's very happy. 2) His Ice Cream Flavors are good- This one is completely random... but I feel like having Ben and Jerry's make an ice cream flavor after you is a really big honor and a great responsibility. You can tell a lot about a

Weird Things that I do/ used to do

So I'll admit it... I'm a weirdo. I do weird things. I think everyone is a weirdo and if you aren't a weirdo... you're probably even weirder than the people that are weird... so that is a thing! Think about it. The weirdest thing that I've done for the longest time and consistently do it I think is that if I eat something with a face like a keebler elf or a mini santa or bunny or something, I have to kiss it before I eat it. And this all started when I was in pre-school and the Keebler elf cookies with the actual pictures of the keebler elves on it first came out and I thought that it was mean to eat it because it looked like a person and my sister said to kiss it before you eat it... and then I told my pre school class and some mean kid that I didn't like said "bite its head off before you eat it." Which is mean and duh you're eating it thats kind of what you do anyway. But now I still pretty much always do it whether I am in public or by myself

Scribbles about TV: First Full Week of April 2015

I didn't watch much this week... so yeah. Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon. Amazing this week. I was disappointed in Madonna's performance... but they're still funny shows that I liked a lot. I actually watched Kat Dennings on Kelly and Michael too cause she was on a lot of shows this week and I like her. So yeah. Watched that. I watched Mike and Molly and it was actually pretty funny. Don't watch it all the time, but I liked it! I watched The Middle, The Goldbergs Modern Family and Blackish. All were really funny this week. I think Blackish was my favorite... The Golbergs is my favorite show of all of those, but Blackish was really funny this week and had a cameo with Brandi Maxxx from Parks and Rec, so that was cool. Shark Tank! I love Shark Tank its the only reality show that I kind of like... but its more of a competition than a reality show, but its really good. And Flight of The Conchords cause I love it. I'm pretty sure that was it... I missed New Girl

Scribbles About News! First full week of April 2015

1) Nina Dobrev leaving The Vampire Diaries- so this is a thing. Isn't she the main character? Not anymore I guess... I can see this. I mean she dated her co star and now it must be kinda hard to work with him... I never really understand that. 2) Celebrity Dermatologist Dr. Frederic Brandt found dead at 65 after committing suicide-   Dermarologist to stars such as Joy Bayhar and Kelly Ripa, who also had a skincare line at sephora died after committing suicide. A lot of places are blaming Martin Short's character on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's parody of him for causing it... That's not it. Depression is deeper than that and it's not like one thing is going to make someone take their life... I just have to say if you're feeling depressed talk to a friend or a family member or anyone to help. Call the suicide hotline, seek medical attention. There is nothing wrong with depression and we live in a day and age where there are medications and technologies to help. T

Woman Crush Thursday?- Current Girl Crushes

So I missed doing a WCW yesterday... and honestly I can't even think of one specific person to pick out, so here are my snippets for my current list of woman crushes and why they are awesome. There is probably going to be a fuller post on them, but for right now, here's just a list of some awesome ladies.  I'm gonna start with Kat Dennings. I didn't even realize how much I loved her until this week. She's been on Fallon and Seth Meyers and Kelly and Michael and honestly she is an awesome guest to have. She is a really interesting person herself and she even makes the interviewer seem really interesting as well. She just seems like she has a ton of fun being on talk shows and she's genuinely a really smart, funny and interesting person. She also isn't afraid to talk about her relationship with Josh Groban, but she's also not just gonna talk about her boyfriend the whole time like "she's only with him because he's famous" type of thing

Angela's Bath and Body Works Candle Rant

Lol so I completely forgot to post today... my bad. I wanted to do a woman crush wednesday... but it just escaped me. I blame hot dogs, cheese fries, chicken fingers and shopping... mostly shopping... which I shouldn't be doing at all... anyway... So I stumbled across this video on youtube that said "I may boycott Bath and Body Works" and I just wanted to see what it was... I figured it was something stupid and fake... but what I saw was amazing. So this woman from Neenah Wisconsin was apparently crazily stalking Bath and Body works for an Iced Gingerbread and a Winter Candy Apple candle... and she had to go ALL THE WAY TO THE MALL to get it. Ugh. Going places is the worst! Any way she had to go all the way to this store all the way in Appleton! And she had just been to Green Bay and the Osh Kosh outlet mall and she had called every school in her area to see if they had her Winter Candy Apple and her Iced Gingerbread candles and NO ONE HAD THEM! And this store she gav

Shannon Goes Viral: Game of Thrones Edition! (Spoilers... duh)

One of my favorite things that happens on the internet is parody videos of Game of Thrones... I've already seen some gems just from yesterday and there is a ton on the internet that are also amazing... so I thought I'd do all Game of Thrones videos! These are all going to be clickable links, so if you think something sounds funny, just click the name and you'll see the youtube vid. Game of Chairs - This is the Sesame Street parody of Game of Thrones, so its kid friendly, but still references the dark twists and turns of the show. Its basically Grover and puppets based off of Ned Stark, Rob Stark, Daenarys Targaryan, Cersei Lannister and Joffrey playing Musical Chairs. Some good quotes. "A Mommy of dragons" "I'm telling my brother" "Don't choke Joffrey" "Its nothing to lose your head over Neddy Baby" "I can't possibly think of a worse ending than this." Its really funny and cute. Kids will be like "I don

Chart Chat! April 6th 2015

So I really like doing these potsts. Its based off of the podcast Who Charted pretty much where they talk to guests and get to know them a little better based off the weekly charts in music and movies. I just post the top 5 movies and itunes chart and say how it pertains to my life... so its my take. Not the most original idea ever... but I like knowing what the top contenders are and I like talking about them... so that is that! 5) Insurgent- This has been out for 3 weeks and is still holding pretty strong at the box office. A lot of these top movies have been out for a few weeks now, except number 1... which if you haven't heard about yet... you might be living under a rock or something. Lol. Anyway this is also based on a popular book series... I own the first Divergent book, haven't read it yet... but it sounds good. Ansel Elgort is in it and I have a little crush on him even though I've never seen a movie of his and he is a tiny bit young for me...  well not really,

Scribbles About Tv: The Grace Helbig Show Review

So here's something I was pretty excited about! GraceHelbig from youtube now has a talk show on E! I love Grace, I haven't watched her videos in such a long time... but when I heard she had a movie out recently and a book and a talk show now, I got excited. She's a genuinely talented person and she's really funny and seems nice and down to earth. Plus She's a Jersey Girl, which always makes me really happy. So the show is kind of like a normal show, and also kind of not that normal. She describes it as an Introvert's talk show. There is no studio audience its filmed in a little house... idk if its a real house or a set that looks like a house, but I think thats cool. I'm pretty much an introvert myself, so I like that about it. It also seems like she has some sketches and characters too. It reminds me a little of Comedy Bang Bang. If you like CBB and you like Jimmy Fallon and you like sort of an awkward shy sense of humor than I think you'll really lik

Scribbles about TV: End of March/Start of April

I feel like I didn't watch a ton of TV this week. A lot of my favorite shows just ended or had a series finale... but yeah.  Sunday I think I watched Once Upon A Time, I need to catch up a little bit on that, which I can do soon cause I only missed a few episodes and I think its not going to be on for a couple of weeks I think. I also watched my favorite show currently on Television television, The Last Man On Earth. Cannot stress how brilliant this show is. If you haven't seen it yet, it is a MUST see! Will Forte is brilliant and the rest of the cast is amazing too. Its a small cast obviously, its called The Last Man on Earth... but everyone on it is brilliant. Its incredibly well written and I just love it. Monday I watched Two Broke Girls, which I don't always watch. Its pretty funny though. I used to love this show, but it kind of got on the back burner... sometimes the jokes are a little repetitive. Its cute though and fun to watch, so I like that. Missed Saul on M
