Hamilton: The Bullet

Okay... so Friends Friday is kind of going to change to "Favorite Things Friday" I think cause I have some theories about more of my favorite things... and I need to talk about the character "The Bullet" in Hamilton.  So I'm not the first person that's noticed this- it's all around the internet. In Hamilton there is a character that is technically just an Ensemble character- a backround dancer that has a much more significant role in the play than just an Ensemble character. She symbolizes death and bad things happening throughout the play.  She is the first person to die in the actual play... well Alexander's Mother and his Cousin die in the very first song- but that's more of an explanation of the events that happen in Alexander's life before the play starts. She is killed for espionage after King George's First Song "You'll Be Back" in a brief musical moment that you can't hear on the soundtrack. After that she symbol

Yoga... How's That Going?

Alright- I've mentioned a few times that I've been doing Yoga lately... and I actually think it's really been good for me!  What I'm Doing?  So I started off doing a beginner yoga video from Yoga with Adrienne and then I found another video that was part of her 30 Days of Yoga challenge from 2015... so right now I've been keeping up with that year's challenge and so far I have finished up to day 7.  The videos are actually pretty easy to follow. There are a few moves where I'm like "I can't do this." But some... I've ended up being able to do a few days later. Or at least kind of do. Plus most of the videos are like 20-ish minutes... so it's not too long but it's still a nice workout. I kind of feel sore sometimes after- but now I feel like I've gotten a little better and it's a little easier.  And I have skipped 2 days... one I was just exhausted after work...and one I had a bad headache and even though it went away I didn&

Five Below Haul! Snacks, Writing Supplies and more!

Alright- so I've been going to 5 below... kind of a lot now. And I don't quite remember everything I bought from there... but I do have the receipt for one order and I can kind of remember some other things I've bought recently... so yeah!  First off... let's start with the snacks!  I got a S'mores candy bar from the brand  Chuao. I really like this brand and they usually have a good selection of flavors at Five Below. This one was really good and you could taste all the s'mores flavors!  I also really like the Reese's Take 5 Bars... Take 5 Bars are already really good- combine it with Reese's and it's amazing. I also grabbed a reese's Fast break bar because... those are underrated too and that was also really good.  And they had White Chocolate Twix and that sounded delicious...  And when I was at the checkout I saw they had Almond Pockey... so I grabbed that too!  Okay... I think that's all the snacks I got now onto some random things...  I

Target Tuesday: The Best Beauty Things From Target

Alright... so I've been loving Target Beauty Items lately... so I thought I'd post about my favorites from that!  And...these aren't all target exclusive... and in fact... these might not be my favorite favorites... they're just kind of my favorites right now and when I think of Target- these items come to mind.  1) Dr. Teal's Melatonin and Essential Oils Sleep Foaming Bath- This stuff works and smells amazing! It's just a bubble bath- made with Dr. Teal's Epsom Salts and it is just a really relaxing scent that just feels really good and relaxing when I use it. I've been using it pretty much every day after work and I really love it!  2) St. Ive's Coconut and Coffee Scrub- If you want a really nice facial scrub that smells great and can help wake you up in the morning... this is perfect! I've been using this for a long time and I've just always really liked how it worked. I like the St. Ive's products in general- but this one I think is k

Movie Monday: 10 Movies That Make Me Happy

Alright guys! It's movie Monday and... I didn't watch any movies this week... so I'll talk about some movies that I've seen recently or semi recently that made me happy.  1) Mirai- I need to do a full review of this on my other blog (The Cozy Princess)... but this was just a super cute movie that was just really beautiful and it will make you laugh and cry and it might make you nostalgic too. This is a Japanese Animation movie- I guess it's animae style but it's just a nice slice of life movie told from the perspective of a young boy who just recently became a big brother- and his sister's name is Mirai which means future- and we meet Mirai from the future too... and it's just a really nice movie that I think would cheer anyone up.  2) The Art of Racing in The Rain- This is such a sweet movie. I've already done a review on this- but it's about a man's relationship with his dog and it's his life told from the dog's perspective... and i

Favorites  The House on Hurley Pond Road- So my coworker lent me this book a few months ago... and I really like it! It's actually a really scary true story of a house that isn't all that far from where I live. It's written by Darren Fitzgerald and Michael S. Burke... so far I've read up to Darren's encounter living in the house. It's really scary! I think I might read more horror books leading up to Halloween!  Baby Yoda from Build a Bear- I broke down and ordered the Build a Bear Baby Yoda... and it is adorable!  Yoga- So Yoda- and Yoga are favorites! I've actually been getting a little bit better and I've actually been doing it almost every day- so that's really good. I think I've mentioned I've been following Yoga With Adrienne's channel and I've been doing her 30 days of Yoga from 2015. It's really good! So far I think I've only missed 2 days since I started with the first video so I'm on Day 7... but I started like 9

The Politician Season 1 Review

So I started watching this show The Politician just because I saw my mom and my grandma watching it and I realized it was Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuck- just by the cast of characters and then my grandma started watching it at home so I was like "ohh maybe I should watch this with my mom" and then I got really hooked... and my dad even started watching it... and it's just really funny. And a fun show to watch.  So the first season and second season are actually quite different. The first season takes place in a high school and the second season takes place in New York. And both seasons kind of follow the same format as far as episodes go... but they're really different and the first season actually reminded me a lot of Glee- which was also Murphy/Falchuck.  The first season focuses Benn Platt- Payton's school election for President... and it's a very elite school with very gifted and talented students- so the high school election is very high stakes but at the end

Friends Friday: Ross and Rachel's breakup

Ross and Rachel's breakup on friends is the one thing that... kind of doesn't make much sense to me to be honest. Yes-Rachel did say "Let's take a break" but NO Ross shouldn't have slept with Chloe from the copy place... but it seems so unlike Ross and... it's just weird.  Sure- Ross was very jealous of Mark- the cute guy at Rachel's new job. Rachel never really seemed interested in Mark- she was just excited to have someone to bond with over fashion... but because Ross's first wife Carol cheated on him...he found it hard to trust Rachel. Which...I guess was why he felt really insecure and jealous when Mark came into the picture.  So... yeah. I guess there's the jealousy... but Ross is a sweet guy and a good boyfriend for the most part... he shouldn't have just slept with Chloe! And when he and Rachel discuss things... he immediately blames Rachel for everything? I mean come on Ross? You can't blame Rachel for doing her dream job and be

So I'm Turning 29 in Quarantine... Probably

Alright- this blog might be a little premature but it's just kind of a fact I've come to realize and... these are just my thoughts on it.  So when Quarantine started it was my boyfriend's 24th birthday... it was St. Patrick's Day- the stores we work at weren't closed yet- but restaurants just closed- so we could only have dinner at my parent's house and they got him a cake and a St.Patrick's Day Frog Cupcake... so that was really nice- but I thought I was glad my birthday didn't happen then... and honestly I'm glad his birthday happened at the start before everything was totally shut down.  And now it's towards the end of July and I've just realized... Ohhh... my birthday will be in Quarantine. And likely.... the last year of my 20s will be... a lot different than what I would want it to be.  So obviously there are a lot worse things going on in the world right now- I'm not complaining about this... it's just a really weird reality to

Target Tuesday: Target Haul

So I've been to Target twice recently and here's what I bought! I feel like a lot of the stuff is beauty and fashion related... but I still think I'm going to post it all on this blog.  So the first time I went- I ended up only getting 3 things... but they're 3 really cool things!  The first thing I saw when I went in was the Elf Retro Paradise Eyeshadow Palette. I've only used it once and honestly... it wasn't easy to use. I have a Chartreuse shirt that I was really excited to wear the green color with... and the green color took some building and I didn't wear it all day- but I felt like had I worn it all day it would have worn offf... I'm not sure about this one- I need to play with some of the other colors cause Green is tricky to begin with. Next up I saw this shirt... and it was cute so I got it!  And last but not least I saw the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy- so I got that! It was a special edition that came with these cards- and I just go

Movie Monday: Her

Okay... so this is what happens when you lose a bet with your boyfriend. You watch Her...  JK! So I lost a bet with my boyfriend and so he got to pick out what movie we watched and there wasn't a whole lot on Netflix... so he chose the movie Her starring Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson's voice. It was a weird movie that is very beloved by most but to me... it was okay. I don't really see what the fuss was about.  So the world in this movie was really interesting. It opens with Joaquin Phoenix's character, Theodore reading a letter that he's writing... because that's what he does for a living. He writes letters for people professionally. And they look handwritten- but they're still typed. It's a really interesting look into the future and the perfect backround for this character. He's doing something kind of old fashioned like writing handwritten letters, but in a modern way that the audience can connect to. Writing letters and cards are kind o

Weekly Wrap Up 7.19.20

Favorites  Animal Crossing- I played this game pretty much all day for the last 2 days. I know this is always a favorite- but I really like how my island is turning out... it's really coming together and it looks really good now! I feel like I have a lot of room!  The Two Lives of Lydia Bird- I wanted to read a few books this week... and that didn't totally happen but I did pick up this book again by Josie Silver. It's just a sweet book and it isn't really making me sad anymore.  Yoga- I've been doing Yoga every once and a while... I have to say I was really lazy the last couple of days and I haven't done it... but I think I'll try another yoga video after I finish this. I've been doing Yoga With Adrienne Videos because she's just a really great teacher and her videos are just easy and fun.  Friends- So I haven't watched as much Friends as I did during the quarantine... but I did still watch quite a bit of Friends. It's a really great show. A

Dead To Me Season 2 Review

Okay I forgot to post this last week! And I forgot that Saturday was the day I reviewed new TV Shows that I haven't seen before!  So Season 2 was like a totally different plot than Season 1. I'm going to spoil season 1 here and say it centers around Jen and Judy trying to hide the fact that Jen murdered Steve. And... every single detail of this season was pretty brilliant and full of coincidences.  I've mentioned a lot with movies that I love it when there's a tight story and every detail mentioned in the movie is used in the end... that's what this season was! There wasn't anything in the whole season that didn't complicate the plot- and I just really liked it! I thought they did a great job kind of planning with everything and weaving everything together.  I really like Judy! She's just a really nice lady and a great character and I was happy that she finally found love this season... and it seemed like someone that would really work out... but then we

The Office Theory: Was Michael Scott Trapped? The Dinner Party

You guys remember The Dinner Party right? The episode of the office where to loosely quote Jim "Michael and Jan seem to be having a contest to see who can make us more uncomfortable... and they're both winning." But unfortunately for Jim and Pam, this dinner party needed to happen... with all the parties present.  First off- let's talk about the timing of this episode. It happens right after Jan's lawsuit against Dunder Mifflin in which Michael is caught in the middle... not knowing whether to side with his girlfriend Jan or with the company that has been good to him for years. In the end... the Company ends up winning- which 1) Makes sense because Jan was fired because she's crazy- not because she got a boob job 2) The Company would have probably went bankrupt if Jan had won... and Michael would be out of a job... and Jan would have broken up with him and he would have lost a lot of money. And he was nice enough to let Jan move in with him after Dunder Miffli

Shannon's Favorite Things: Ranked

Alright... so I'm a person of many interests... here I am going to kind of rank my favorite favorite things, and talk about why I like them so much. By the way these are only inanimate objects or pop culture related things... There might be a few people listed but it's their work I'm referring to.  Some of the things might kind of connect... like I have Pixar, Star Wars, Disney and Marvel all listed separately but... I was trying to make a top 20 list and they should be separated anyway. Also this is only as of right this second- July 14th 2020 at 8:17pm when I'm writing this. It might be different by the time I post this.  Honorable Mention:  John Wick-  So I had this on the list... then remembered Starbucks... so John Wick just seemed like the thing that wasn't a part of my everyday life- it is my favorite movie franchise that isn't Disney related... I just really like John Wick right now.  20) Parks and Recreation  Okay Parks and Recreation was not going to b

Barnes and Noble Haul... again...

Sooo... I have a book problem lol. I bought too much stuff at Barnes and Noble yet again- but I'm happy with what I bought so I have to share it.  First thing... this is actually the last thing that I picked up but A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. My boyfriend loves this series and I have his other two books from the series but I think he lent the first book to a friend of his and I don't think they've read it yet so I grabbed the first book so that I could finally read it.  I also got Heavy Vinyl Volume 2 this is a comic book by Carly Usdin. I read Volume 1 last year and I didn't know  they were making a Volume 2- but my boyfriend found it and I was really excited for it!  I also got a really nice Rose Gold Deck of Cards. Idk why really- but my boyfriend saw them and wanted them and I really liked how the Rose Gold Deck looked and he liked it a lot too. We need to learn some card games cause these are pretty cool.  I also got a Yoga book- which is kind of what I

Weekly Wrap Up: July 12th 2020

Favorites  Peter Monn- I feel bad watching drama commentary channels but... Peter Monn is really funny and he has a fun personality... plus every once and a while there's youtube drama that I like to listen to... actually I kind of follow a lot of commentary channels right now so... yeah. Peter Monn's the one that makes me laugh and not feel as hopeless about the world right now. I should watch his other channels too.  The Pool- I went in the pool a couple of times this week. It was nice and relaxing so... that was good. I went in with my niece the first time and then read a book the second time.  Life Scribbles  Sunday I had the day off so my sister and niece came over and went in the pool with us... like I just mentioned. I might have talked about that last week because I write these on Sunday but... it was good.  The rest of the week I worked... longer hours too because we  got a lot of hours this week. I had a day off on Wednesday so my boyfriend and I went to the mall and

The Office Theory: Did Angela Purposely Ruin Andy's Life?

Alright so I'm watching an episode of The Office from Season 3 and... Angela is REALLY mad at Andy for good reason and I think maybe she... got her revenge on him by eventually dating him and then cheating on him with Dwight.  So the episode in Question is Traveling Salesman in which Andy has the idea to pair up all the salesman and go on Sales Calls together. Dwight goes to New York to turn in the Tax form that Angela forgot to turn in so he's late for work and Andy grows suspicious and uses this time to turn Michael against Dwight. Dwight ends up resigning- and Angela wants him to stop Andy... and she even says something along those lines.  And then Season 4 starts and Angela breaks up with Dwight because he mercy kills her favorite cat Sprinkles- and she starts dating Andy shortly after and then she gets engaged to him at the end of Season 4 and in Season 5 she cheats on Andy with Dwight and they end up dueling for her.  I kind of think Angela was trying to get revenge on bo

10 Things I Want To Do On My Staycation

So basically I just got back to work... and I had some vacation time I needed to take so... I'm off for a week! I have no plans, I can't really do anything or go anywhere because it's dangerous... but here are some things I'm going to do at home.  1) Sleep- It's been a while since I've taken a nap... I want to do that next week.  2) Read- I want to read a few books next week maybe. I don't know if I'll really have time to read all that many... if I can finish one I'll be happy... but I might try to read 2 or 3. No guarantees... but that would kinda make me happy.  3) Yoga- Yoga is something I've wanted to do for a while... and I have done some simple yoga poses just to make myself feel better after working long shifts. I feel like this will make me stronger and it might help my general health and make me more relaxed in general.  4) Watch Hamilton- You bet your ass I've watched hamilton a bunch already and I'm going to watch it more next

Book Haul! Barnes and Noble- LOTS OF LIN MANUEL MIRANDA!

So I went to Barnes and Noble today and I got some stuff... probably too much stuff but... hey! That's life right? Anyway, first I saw a cover that looked interesting for the book The Down Days by Ilize Hugo. This sounded REALLY SCARY and it's an apocalyptic world. There was an illness that made everyone have hallucination and they had a laughing epidemic... and it just sounds like a crazy, complicated and scary book that I really want to read. And I have a week off next week so I want to see if I can maybe read some things... so this is exciting.  Next up I saw an endcap with Hamilton and Lin Manuel Miranda related books so I picked up the Music and Lyric book for In The Heights Music and Lyrics book... I've seen In The Heights with Lin Manuel Miranda in it and I do have the lyric book for Hamilton- so I wanted to get this too when I saw it... so I did!  And I got the Lin Manuel Miranda G'morning Gnight Little Pep Talks For You and Me which is a collection of Lin's

Target Tuesday:Top 10 Favorite Things I've bought from Target!

Okay... so Target is an amazing place... but I need to mention a few of my favorites! Some of these are things you can only get at Target and some are things I've just bought at Target that I've Loved!  1) Weighted Blanket-  So I got this on Black Friday this year and... this is kind of life changing. A lot of the things on this list are but this one in particular helped me sleep so much better and when I wake up I feel more well rested. It's a little different now because it's summer and I feel like it's too hot... but I still try to use this and I really love this.  2) John Wick Trilogy- I got such a good deal on these on Black Friday. My boyfriend had wanted to see these movies and I never did and then he told me it was about a guy and a dog and I was like "WHATTT?" So... I needed to get this. And honestly it is probably my favorite adult movie series. I really love it!  3) 10 Inch The Child (Baby Yoda) Funko Pop- This is so cute! I love Baby Yoda and I

Movie Monday: The Art of Racing In The Rain

So every once and a while there will be a movie that just kind of changes the way you look at things and it's one you'll always remember and think about. I think The Art of Racing In The Rain is one of those movies for me.  My mom read the book a long time ago and she kind of gave away a lot of details to the book... so it sort of made me not want to read it until I forgot a lot of the details she told me. And I was going to do that... but then the movie came out and I got the dvd for her birthday and I'm really happy that we own it now because it's a really special movie and I think they did a good job with it.  I will probably still read the book- there are a lot of other books I need to read too but I'll definitely add this on a list of things to read soon because... it was just a great movie. I don't really think you need to love dogs or have a dog to enjoy it because there's so much about life in the movie too that I think it's just a good one to wa

Weekly Wrap Up: July 5th 2020

Favorites  New Girl- I've been watching this again because I'm watching it with my mom and we just finished watching The Politician. I really love the show and it's a fun one to watch.  Baby Yoda Plush- I ordered this from Shop Disney and it's so cute! I love it! I still want to get the Build a Bear one- I hope it restocks when I'm out of work... but I like this one a lot still.  Leighannesays on Youtube- There has been A LOT of crazy stuff happening on youtube lately- including one of my favorite youtubers -Shane Dawson who I no longer support or subscribe to... but I was getting kind of bummed out from all the craziness involving that and then I decided to watch a Leighannesays video and it was really nice and refreshing. Her and her husband are really cute together and they're just fun videos. It's refreshing to see.  Hamilton- This is probably going to be a favorite next week too because as of the time I'm writing this it hasn't premiered on Disn

Dead To Me Season 1 Review

Okay so there aren't as many seasons of Dead to Me as there are New Girl- only 2 seasons released so far but they're so different I don't want to cover the second season in this season. And I want to talk about what I expect for the third season when I review the second season next week.  So in Season One Jen and Judy first meet in the first episode. They meet in a grief counseling group- Judy recognizes Jen because she's a realtor and she saw her on a park bench and they bond pretty quickly.Jen's husband just passed away in a terrible hit and run and Jen can't sleep since her husband died.  Judy tells Jen to call her if she can't sleep... Jen can't sleep so she calls her and then Judy starts coming over to Jen's house... and eventually Jen tries to go to Judy's house and she finds out Judy's been lying to her a little bit.  So once Judy explains why she lies to Jen and to the grief counseling group- she's accepted into the group even tho

Mogo Order: Amazing Experience and Great Food!

So a while ago my boyfriend and I ordered from Asbury Park's Korean Fusion taco place. We didn't actually get any tacos but we got some really delicious food!  I always get the KFC wings when I'm there. I wasn't sure what sauce I got on the wings, and you could chose to get sauce on the side so we got the Soy Ginger and the Buffalo Kimchi glazes... the Soy Ginger is what I always get and it was delicious. The buffalo kimchi was really good too- I don't always love buffalo sauce but it was pretty good and my boyfriend liked it too. And they tasted pretty good without sauce too so it wasn't really bad at all.  We also got the Kimchi Fried Rice with Chicken. The chicken in this was really tender and it tasted amazing. We've had the Kimchi Fried rice before but this time it was just really good. We ordered the 12 wings and a large kimchi friend rice so it was a lot of food that we both ended up sharing. So it was a lot of food but not too much... we finished it

My Weird Day... This might be gross and TMI? But it's not and this is just what's going on now.

So on Tuesday this week I was  asleep... I did go to bed kind of late because I didn't work until later in the morning the next day- but I had still been asleep for a while and then at 2am my toenail must have gotten caught on my blanket or something and it just fell off- but it was still hanging onto the skin and... I couldn't take it off safely.  I've never been to a foot doctor- but my grandmother had been to one so I was able to make an appointment with her and I was actually able to get in that same day because there had been a cancelation. So that was good. My toenail had fallen off before and it wasn't growing back that well- so I had wanted to go to her anyway just to see what was up- but I was hoping to wait until after the pandemic... but then I think I hit my toenail with a shopping cart and that's how it fell off.  So it was painless when I went to the doctor and that was all good and it doesn't really hurt now. I can still walk fine she just said do
