Blogmas Day 15: Christmas Movies: Good and Bad

In general- I'm a fan of Christmas Movies. There are some that are particularly bad... and yet I still watch them every year and enjoy them... this is going to be more of me going over the worst parts of Christmas movies... and things that just kind of bother me. THE BAD  1) Santa in Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer I know people are complaining about Rudolph a lot this year... and I don't necessarily agree with everything that they're saying... but at the same time the Santa in Rudolph has some problems. He mocks a baby reindeer for having a red nose... that's not cool. So while I'm not super offended by Rudolph or up in arms about it or anything... yeah the Santa in Rudolph is not the best. #notmysanta am I right??? 2) The Grinch's Heart is Down a Size and A Half???  So in the Jim Carey Grinch movie there's a scene early on in the movie where the Grinch checks the Heart Chart and says "Down another size and a half." This means that the Gri

Blogmas Day 14: Watching One Of My Favorite Christmas Movies With My Niece

So I've talked about my niece before... she's a toddler- she's almost 2 and she's super playful and the cutest! I thought it might be fun to try to watch one of my favorite Christmas Movies- A Muppet Christmas Carol- with her and see how she likes it... this is what happened. I wasn't really expecting her to pay much attention to it... but I thought maybe she'd laugh and maybe she would like the Muppets because she likes Sesame Street so much... and I think she did a little bit but she mostly just played a little bit and when she got tired she laid down to watch and then she fell asleep... just like what I do! But when she was asleep it was at my favorite part- Marley and Marley! With my favorite muppets- Statler and Waldorf...So that was a fun part for me to kind of sit down and watch with my dad. He thinks its funny too... and then we watched Fozziwig's Old Rubber Chicken Factory- which my dad also laughed at... which was funny. And I had to get read

Blogmas Day 13: My Favorite Christmas Songs This Year

I usually like Christmas music in General... this year I'm working retail... so Christmas Music isn't really my first go-to as far as music goes... but I do still like it... and honestly my favorites are from the Christmas Soundtrack at work right now. I'll probably go and listen to the full albums... but these are still just good ones. 1) Everyone's A Kid At Christmastime by Stevie Wonder-  I like Stevie Wonder in general... and I like his Christmas Songs in general... but this one is really special and good. I like that he mentions even Scrooge can be a kid at Christmas Time... it's just a really clever song that I really really like. 2) Gwen Stefani's Christmas Songs-  This is shocking because usually I don't listen to Gwen Stefani because something terrible ALWAYS happens when I listen to Gwen Stefani... but I have to say her Christmas songs are actually great. She has such a great voice for them... and they're all just really sweet and kind of

Blogmas Day 12: Non Holiday Movies I love Around The Holidays

There are a lot of great Christmas Movies... but there are some movies that Aren't Christmas Movies that are just as fun to watch around the holiday season... Sooooo that is what I'm talking about I guess. 1) Toy Story Series  I love the Toy Story Series... plus what's more fun for Christmas than Toys???? I watch this movie like all year long- not going to lie... but there is something special about watching it at Christmas. It makes me feel like a kid and I can remember when Santa Clause used to bring me new toys and the excitement of guessing what it was. 2) Star Wars  I love Star Wars... and there's something nice about watching movies that you love in the comfort of your own home on Christmas... and with the new Star Wars Series being released mostly around the holiday season... it just makes sense to watch them all around Christmas. Not something you need to watch at Christmas- especially since not everyone like Star Wars... but if you do... it's fun to

Blogmas Day 11: New York City Christmas Date Day Story

So I mentioned a few different times that my boyfriend and I went to New York for a fun Christmasy-type of date... and things kind of went not according to plan... but we still had a lot of fun and we got a lot of stuff. I kind of wanted to see some decorations and do something christmasy... and we kind of got to the city too late and NJ Transit is kind of too unreliable for us to have done that... so we just started shopping and the first place we went to was Kinokuniya- which is an asian themed book store... it is like right across from Bryant Park (I think?) and it has 3 really great stories of all sorts of thing. Any animae or comic related thing you could want- its got it there. They also have a lot of art supplies like things for Calligraphy or Bullet Journaling downstairs... and some biographies and just interesting books on the main level. I ended up getting one of the leuchtturum notebooks, a book on Japanese Skincare, and 2 Pusheen mystery mini ornaments. I loved the book s

Blogmas Day 10: No Sleep Till Christmas Spoiler Review

So this is a weird movie... and I need to start with saying I did not know anything about this movie until like the day it aired. ABC Family did a lot of commercials for it... I didn't think it was a real tv movie- I thought it was just a web advertising thing that they were doing... but nope. It was a real movie... so that was interesting. I think the concept of this movie is... barely even a concept. Lizzie and Simon both have trouble falling asleep. Lizzie seemingly because she is stressed out about marrying Mr. Right... or Mr. Wright because his name is actually Josh Wright. Although Lizzie is a very successful party planner- she is having trouble planning a wedding with Josh and it doesn't help that she just can't fall asleep. Simon is a bartender with dreams of opening his own bar... but because he can never sleep he's a slacker and his girlfriend Nicola breaks up with him. One day Simon decides to go for a walk only to be hit by Lizzie's car. Lizzie off

Blogmas Day 9: Things I thought as a kid- CHRISTMAS EDITION!

So I thought for today's post it might be kind of fun to talk about some things that I thought when I was a kid that I realize as an adult aren't exactly how I thought. Now I know what you're all thinking- am I talking about Santa? No- Santa is totally real and I know he's probably too busy to read this blog this time of year... and it's not that popular of a blog... plus I think The North Pole has Wifi- but I'm not 100% sure... but either way Merry Christmas Santa! Anyway... on to the thoughts! 1) The Song "Little St. Nick" was about a Small Santa  So I don't know if anyone remembers the "Now That's What I Call Christmas" Cd and the commercials for it... but they did show a cartoon of what looked to be a little St. Nick. So I thought maybe he was for Little Christmas or he delivered gifts before christmas or something. I like the song a lot... but it does seem like a fun idea for a little St. Nick to deliver presents before S

Blogmas Day 8: Christmas Movie Bucket List

Since I already did the Christmas Bucket List... here's a list of Christmas Movies I want to make sure I watch this year! 1) Merry Christmas Charlie Brown-  This is always what I like to see first at Christmas time. It just gets me in the holiday spirit and I just like the message of the Peanuts Gang learning what Christmas is all about. It also shows Charlie brown getting kind of sad when everyone else is happy for Christmas because Charlie Brown wants something more than just decorations and presents. It's super cute and one I always have to watch. I did kind of watch it already... but I need to watch it again for sure. I was setting up my new phone at the same time. 2) How The Grinch Stole Christmas- Cartoon Version  I really love this one. I did see most of this movie recently... but again- I was also on the phone and stuff... I just got the DVD recently and I'm excited to watch it again and again now instead of just when it's on TV. I also bought the Jim Ca

Blogmas Day 7: Shopping For Christmas Gifts (SPOILERS FOR MY FRIENDS/BOYFRIEND... PLEASE DON'T READ TILL AFTER I GIVE YOU YOUR PRESENTS!!!!!!)

So this is not really going to be a gift guide post... but it sort of is I guess... I'm just going to kind of talk about what I got for people so far for christmas- why I got them these things and maybe a little bit of the shopping process behind it all. I'm going to start off with my friends because I got my 3 friends that I've had since High School (one from before that) and I get them all the same thing... and typically I get them all makeup. This year I got their presents early- during the Sephora 20% off sale... I had swatched one of the mini Violet Voss palettes and I thought the Berry Burst looked good and seemed a little bit like a mini version of the Holy Grail palette- which I like a lot. The Creme Brulee looked nice too- but I thought the Berry Burst would be better. I also got them each a Bum Bum Bath Bomba from Sol de Janiero because... even though I didn't think it was the best Bath Bomb I've ever tried for the price... but I also thought it was nice

Blogmas Day 6: A Christmas Day in NYC with my family

I wrote a blog like this last blogmas... and I have another one this year. The annual NYC Macy's trip with my family and my brother in laws family to take my niece to see Santa was here once again... and this trip was a lot different than the last trip... but just as fun. So last year when we did this my niece was almost 1... this year she's almost 2- so she's a little more playful, a little more alert about some things... and its just really cute to see what a difference a year makes. We took the train up...which was a lot of fun for the baby! She really loves watching trains go by and she was so excited to actually be on one! She had a fun time with it. I had a nap because I was up early and I had no coffee... and now working retails around the holidays... if I see an opportunity for a nap I take it. Then we went to the city and again... the baby was excited! She saw the people, the lights the noises... she just loved it. Also there were animals everywhere and she l

Blogmas Day 5: Christmas Season Bucket List!

I did one of these for the summer... and I kind of failed that bucket list... so hopefully I'll do a little bit better with this one! 1) Give Gifts- I mean this is something I pretty much always do... but my parents usually just buy their gifts for themselves that are things I would pick out for them. This year I want to actually get them stuff they'll use and love because I have a job now... so I can get them stuff on my own! 2) Decorate My Room- I really want my room to be kind of decorated for Christmas. Right now my room is kind of a mess... but I think I could decorate it and it would look super cute. I just watched a few online DIY videos and things like that... so I kind of want to decorate it! 3) Craft- I work right next to a craft store right now... so I feel like that's going to make it a little more fun for me to be able to craft and decorate things for myself. I really want to make cards for everyone... I think that can be really fun and I just want to get

Blogmas Day 4: Jingle All The Way 2 Review

Heyy guys! I didn't really mean to make Blogmas all movie reviews from me... that's just kind of how it's working out right now... but my Boyfriend actually got me the very romantic gift of Jingle All The Way 2... which we did watch together... and I think we both agree... It is a Movie... This movie stars Larry The Cable Guy as a single dad who is kind of trying to outdo his daughter's new step dad... he also kind of just wants to get his daughter what she wants... and that is a Teddy Bear called Harrison. Larry reads his daughters letter to santa and sees a misspelled version of Harrison and decides to get it for her. The only thing is... these bears are like impossible to get. Every time Larry goes to the store- someone buys every single Harrison Bear. One of the things I think I need to complain about with this movies is that there were too many antagonists... I wasn't paying the most attention to the movie because... well it isn't the most interesting

Blogmas Day 3: Office Christmas Party Review

Heyyy guys! Happy Blogmas! Today is actually quite a throwback because as I'm writing this... it's April 15th... lol. I just wanted to watch this movie because it was on HBO and I had a feeling they were going to take it off soon... and I was thinking of reviewing this in April... but I thought "nah... I'll just start writing Blogmas now." Not too surprising... I'm pretty sure I'm starting Blogoween soon too... lol. Anyway back to the actual movie itself! I thought it was really funny and kind of interesting. I really liked all the characters and the situation that they got themselves into... but I also thought that the company itself was kind of interesting. They mentioned new Tech that they were developing and I know it wasn't a real tech company and they couldn't really do what they did at the end... but I still thought it was really cool and interesting to learn about. That's not really the "reason" to watch the movie... but it

Blogmas Day 2: A Bad Moms Christmas Review

Hey everyone! So for the today's Blogmas and my post Thursday- I have movie reviews that I wrote around the summer time. So I'm sorry if these sound less Christmasy... I just wanted to write my first reaction after watching them. So that being said- this was a fine movie to watch in May... I actually got it for my mom as a Mother's Day gift and we watched it right away. So that's another fun time to watch this movie... it shows a lot about mothers and daughters and it's sweet. I really liked this movie and I loved the original Bad Moms... this didn't really feel like a sequel to that movie- it felt more like 3 different stories about each of the Bad Mom's. Yes we did get a follow up on the characters- yes we did see all of the Bad Moms together... but it still kind of just felt like we were watching each of their struggles. Being a mom around Christmas is hard, trying to make Christmas perfect is hard, and having your mom's around for Christmas is ha

Blogmas Day 1: The Grinch Movie Review

Hello everyone! Happy Blogmas! I know my 13 Days of AHS did not pan out as expected... but this year I would really like to do all 25 days of Blogmas... I already wrote my blogs for the next 3 days... we have some more movie reviews... but I decided to start on the most recent movie released and the one that is definitely the best out of all the movies: Illumination Studios The Grinch. So I'm a pretty big fan of Illumination to begin with. I feel like they're a little underrated... Compared to studios like Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks which have been around for years... Illumination is newer and it hasn't had as many hits. I love Despicable Me, I love Sing... I've never seen Secret Life of Pets or The Lorax... but still. They have good stuff. I think this movie is the most impressive animation that the Studio has done. Whoville looked really magical and christmasy... the characters were all super super cute... Cindy Lou Who and her friends were adorable and I cried

13 Days of AHS Day 6: American Horror Story Crossovers

Since we're in a crossover season of American Horror Story- I thought it'd be kind of fun to count all the crossovers from the other seasons. 1) MONTGOMERY- Although I'm not sure this technically counts as a crossover- our first clue of the seasons being connected was the name Montgomery... which we first see with Dr. Charles and Nora Montgomery in Murder House. Charles Montgomery is a doctor with a Frankenstein complex and Nora was an actress. Madison Montgomery in Coven is an actress that also has a Frankenstein complex. Of corse the only child Charles and Nora had became the Infantata and was confined in the murder house... but maybe Madison was of some relation. 2) Pepper and Sister Mary Eunice- I think there were 2 references to Asylum in Freak Show... for some reason I thought Dr. Arden... or maybe his brother or someone was the one to amputate Elsa's legs... but I could be wrong. Anyway Pepper was the first character we saw in multiple seasons and then it

13 Days of AHS: Why Coven Was The Best Season of American Horror Story

So in  Rewatching American Horror Story... I think Coven is my favorite season. I feel like every season has it's own charm and great aspects about it... even my least favorite seasons have something I like about them... but Coven is special for a lot of reasons. 1) It's The Funniest Of The Seasons  I think after the very dark season of Asylum... we needed at least a little bit of comic relief. Coven was very self aware of the campy nature of it... and I kind of like when American Horror Story goes there. 2) Jessica Lange as Fiona Goode Fiona Goode is this unstoppable, powerful woman that is portrayed as really sexy. She can have any man she wants, she wants one last love affair and she gets that with the axeman. I love that Ryan Murphy kind of isn't afraid to cast an older actress for this type of role. I feel like if this show was on The CW she would be a teenager or something... maybe Emma  Roberts would play her even... but he cast Jessica Lange and that is kind

13 Days of AHS Day 4: The Top 10 Best Characters

Okay... this is in no real order but when thinking of my favorite characters on American Horror Story... this is what happened! Hope you like it! 1) Michael Langdon (Murder House/ Apocalypse)  Michael Langdon has quickly become a favorite character this year on American Horror Story. Cody Fern plays him so well... and I just think there are a lot of layers to the character. He is the anti Christ and he does love killing people and everything... but at the same time he's almost like a teenager that doesn't quite know what he's doing... it's just very interesting and he's just been the most evil character that we've seen so far. It's just interesting to see this guy that we know is a bad guy is in charge... and running things. 2) Vivienne Harmon (Murder House)  For whatever reason I've always loved Vivienne Harmon. I can't explain why... maybe its just Connie Britton and her beautiful hair... maybe its just because she's a great character..

13 Days of AHS Day 3: Is James Patrick March Really Evil???

Hotel is one of my least favorite seasons of American Horror Story- but for some reason it's one of the only seasons I've seen all the way through 2 times... as of this point that is only Murder House, Hotel and I'm just finishing up the last episode of Coven for the first time since it aired also! Anyway... James Patrick March is an interesting Character as far as AHS Lore goes because while he seems very evil while he is alive... as a ghost he seems a little more lighthearted. I believe he only kills people in the afterlife if he believes it will benefit the hotel and its residents... and while he has done terrible things... there's almost a sympathy you have for him... especially in his Apocalypse scenes... James March killed Queenie- which was honestly one of the hardest deaths in any of the American Horror Story seasons. One of my main problems with Hotel was that Coven was great because Queenie was someone we cared about and she made it out alive with a happy

13 Days of AHS: Return To Murder House Review- Recap

So the most recent episode of American Horror Story: Apocalypse was exciting for a few reasons... 1) It was the return to the Murder House for the first time since season one. 2) We get the return of the Harmon Family and Tate... some of everyone's favorite characters in season 1. 3) Jessica Lange returns for the first time since Freak Show! 4) It is Sarah Paulson's directorial debut! So this episode had a lot going on with it to begin with... it was over an hour long... and it did not disappoint at all. I actually think it might be the strongest episode of the entire series and the best crossover the show has ever done. This episode followed Madison and Behold as they bought the Murder House and did a spell so that the spirits would appear and talk to them about Michael Langdon. We get to see some of the murder house resident ghosts... like The Harmon Family, Tate Langdon, Moira O'Hare, and of corse Constance Langdon reunited with 3 of her children. Madison and Behold

13 Days of AHS: Official American Horror Story Season Ranking for 2018

Okay guys... so you know I love Halloween and I love American Horror Story... so I thought I would talk about American Horror Story every day until Halloween. It's halloween-ish... and I love Talking about AHS... so I thought I'd do some reviews, maybe some theories... and I'm going to start with how I would rank the seasons today. This is subject to change... I feel like I always have a different view with it... but still. I will give you my rankings and my reasonings for the first 7 seasons. 7) Asylum-  I know this is a lot of people's favorite season... a lot of podcasts I listen to rank it highly... and I have to admit there are some great episodes in this season... but as a whole- there was almost no payoff from this season. I think the alien thing would have been good... had it not been in this season. I feel like the Adam Levine/ Jenna Dewan Tatum parts are just too cheesy and that didn't really need to be in the story at all... Dr. Arden's Monster

The ABC's of Me: My Life in 26 Letters and brief summaries of my years

Okay... so I feel like I'm late on this... but last year on my birthday my High School Algebra Teacher commented saying "Happy Alphabet Birthday" and I thought Ohhhhhhh that's cool I'm 26 there are 26 letters in the alphabet... that's cool... and right now it's actually June 12th at 11:51pm so it's almost my mom's birthday and I thought "HEY I'll post talking about my years for my blog and post it right before my 27th birthday that way it's still relevant! So here we go- let's talk about the years and what I did and I'll try to have a little bit of a One Word description with the letter correspondence to sum up the year.  It'll make sense once I do it. I'm also going to be a little vague on the situations that happen... but I'll try being kind of open about what happens... so yeah. Some real life people might be mentioned in this... I'll never mention anyone by name and I'm sure if I say anything negative
