Throwback Thursday- Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping

Ughhhh I keep teasing the Throwback Thursdays for AHS... and they're coming... but I was going to finish watching the first season this morning... and I had a nightmare about American Horror Story... it kind of combined Tate with Kai... and it was good because Evan Peters was in it... but it was scary still... so it wasn't exactly the first thing I wanted to watch.

But anyway in an attempt to watch movies more often... I saw this on demand and I was like "You know, I've never seen this movie." So I watched it and I really really liked it. It was so funny... I wish I had watched it sooner... it was great.

So it's kind of based off The Lonely Island sketches and it's also pretty much a parody of Justin Bieber's movie and his career lows... Andy Samberg plays Connor4Real who was in a band with 2 of his best friends that he grew up with... I think they called that band "The Style Boyz" or something and they had some hits but then they broke up and Connor started a solo band with one of the members who did the mixing and djing of the group and the lyricist got angry at Connor and just lived on a farm.

ConnorForReal had a few hits on his first album... but no one has told him when he's had a bad song or did something bad since then... and he wasn't really making the best career moves... so yeah. He releases his new album on appliances and it messes everyone's appliances in their house and starts playing these terrible songs... so it's just kind of a big fail and it's really funny. People aren't liking his songs on tour... he gets an opening act that ends up overshadowing him and he gets jealous... and it all just ends up blowing up in his face... and the tour gets cancelled... he gets dumped... and everything bad happens... and he has to get himself back on track.

I think my favorite part of the movie was the fake TMZ-type news show that they had... they keep showing these TMZ people and it feels very much like TMZ but also super exaggerated and then at the end they're just all kind of sad and drinking all this caffeine and gossiping about celebrites and it was funny. Will Arnett was really great in that, Chelsea Peretti was also in there.

Joan Cusack was in this movie as Connor's mom... and that was sooo funny. I love Joan Cusack especially when she isn't just playing a normal mom... Connor's mom was a big partier and liked to tour with him... and she was just really funny. It was sooo soo funny to see her more like her character in The Addam's Family. I liked that a lot.

They also comment on the Justin Bieber Anne Frank House visit... which was probably my favorite moment in the movie. It's just such a ridiculous thing that that visit actually happened... and it was a funny parody. If they didn't parody that part... it wouldn't have been a real parody lol.

So yeah... they took every shot that they could in this movie... and if you're a fan of parodies, if you're a fan of music and if you're a fan of the "behind the music" types of things... you will probably love this movie... I loved it- It's one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. It was stupid but just really good and really funny. If you like this I would recommend "What We Do In The Shadows." That is one of the funniest movies of all time and it is also a fake documentary about Vampires. It's pretty great!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...

Throwback Thursday: Crazy Ex Girlfriend Season 1

One of my favorite shows is the very underrated Crazy Ex Girlfriend... and when I say underrated I mean the ratings are bad... I'm pretty sure there is a lot of critical hype that is very real and worthy of that sort of hype... I honestly didn't watch it live at all this year until the finale... it was all in my DVR... I had lost a little bit of interest to be honest after the first episode... but I bingewatched it all in one day pretty much and it was great... but that's season 2... let's go back to Season 1. If you're only familiar with Season 2... Season 1 isn't quite as dark. It's definitely more silly than Season 2. It isn't like the darkness and the drama isn't there, it just isn't quite as dark. I have a feeling the show is getting progressively darker, and the Season 2 finale was definitely the darkest so far. The show is meant to be a different spin on a Rom-Com. The girl moves across the country for a guy that has a girlfriend alrea...
