I Ate At A Restaurant Right Before it Got Shut Down...

Remember how I mentioned that I went to Serendipity 3 for my 16th birthday and there was a little story behind that also... well...

Even though I knew my parents didn't really like the food- I really liked the desserts there and the food I had was pretty good so I still wanted to go back. And my friends had talked about it every once and a while and I wanted to do something special with them too... so I thought going to NY for that would be pretty fun. And before we went there we stopped at Dylan's Candy Bar... which is the first time I had ever been there and that place is a lot of fun too. I've been there once since then and it's just a cool place... and I love candy so yeah. It was fun we each made a bucket of candy.

So... yeah we went and we had fun and then I think the very same week... definitely within a month the restaurant was all over the news... and if you read the title I'm sure you know why! It was closed because of health code violations... I believe there were rats? It was just like "ewww! We were just there! Yuck!"

No one got sick from the food or anything- so I tend to be optimistic about the situation there... lol. My friend Cristina still likes it and I have been back since there for dessert... it was really late at night and Cristina said "let's go to Serendipity" and so we did and it was fun. The desserts were good- the service was really nice and we all had a good time that night anyway so it was fun... luckily it didn't get shut down a few days later... but it was interesting.

So those are my other memorable stories from Serendipity. Honestly- it's a fun place... if you get there at the end of the night and go for dessert you'll still get nice service... but It's a funny story.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...

Throwback Thursday: Crazy Ex Girlfriend Season 1

One of my favorite shows is the very underrated Crazy Ex Girlfriend... and when I say underrated I mean the ratings are bad... I'm pretty sure there is a lot of critical hype that is very real and worthy of that sort of hype... I honestly didn't watch it live at all this year until the finale... it was all in my DVR... I had lost a little bit of interest to be honest after the first episode... but I bingewatched it all in one day pretty much and it was great... but that's season 2... let's go back to Season 1. If you're only familiar with Season 2... Season 1 isn't quite as dark. It's definitely more silly than Season 2. It isn't like the darkness and the drama isn't there, it just isn't quite as dark. I have a feeling the show is getting progressively darker, and the Season 2 finale was definitely the darkest so far. The show is meant to be a different spin on a Rom-Com. The girl moves across the country for a guy that has a girlfriend alrea...
