Scribbles About TV: Grace and Frankie Review

So I watched Grace and Frankie and... I liked it... but I don't really know if its something I can bingewatch... I don't want to not continue watching it, and I realize I'm probably not exactly the Target audience... but I have a few thoughts.

First off Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are both sooo soo funny in it! They are amazing! They have great chemistry together, they play off of each other really well and they are the stars of the show and the reason I will continue watching it even if I don't totally think its a binge-watch show. I'm most excited to see how their characters will grow and their friendship growing because their husbands left them. Ohh if you didn't know what it was about Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin just find out that their husbands have been having an affair with each other for 20 years and they leave them. So Grace (fonda) and Frankie (tomlin) both move to the beach house that they share... but not together on purpose.

These episodes are all pretty short, but they feel quite long for some reason. I've only seen the pilot so far, maybe thats why it felt so long. In the pilot I already knew what the show was about so it was sort of less interesting to me because its just them finding out pretty much. There was something where I was like "ohh this is really good. This is funny... but predictable." And yeah... it kind of was.

Everyone on the show was funny and everything worked... It just isn't something I can necessarily watch all at once. I could see this being released weekly and it being just as good.

So... yeah. I liked the pilot, I'll continue to watch it... but so far, not my favorite just because it was kind of like I knew everything that was going to happen. The comedy was on point, the heartfelt moments were on point and it was very well made... just a little predictable to me and I feel like I've seen it before.

I also would have liked to have seen a little more character development with Grace and Frankie. I know thats hard to see on the first episode... but there are a lot of shows where you kind of know what is up with the characters based on the first episode. I know Grace is a little uptight, Frankie is kind of a hippie... but that is about it. And I know we'll find out more as the episodes unfold and I'm happy to watch it. I believe Marta Kauffman was a co creator of this... I know she's a producer. She created Friends... and this is a little like the Friends pilot. One girls life completely changed and she moves in with a friend. Same thing with this, but both of their lives completely change.

So all in all thats it. Its a good show I recommend it I just kind of was expecting more in the pilot I guess... and I know I'll get more from the series as a whole... but for now its B+

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
