Scribbles About Life: A day in the life of Shannon

So today, I woke up around 6:45, my dog scratched on my door, I laid down with him for a little bit. I watched the news... I ranted a bit about the media's coverage of the recent shooting in South Carolina in the church. When they focus on the shooter and not the victim... that encourages other people to do shootings. If they focus on the victims its more like "ohh there are good innocent people in the world that get harmed and killed for no reason. Lets keep everyone safe." But... no. Its pretty terrible.

I stayed up for a little bit and pet my dog... he's such a good dog. I love having a dog. Its just so nice to wake up and then see a dog there and he's soft and cute and loves you. Get a dog guys! Or whatever animal you like! They're awesome. Lol. And I went back to my room for a little after that and went back to bed.

I woke up a little later, had lunch... didn't do much exciting. Watched some youtube ate a Turkey Sandwich. Didn't want to eat anything heavy because...

I WENT TO MY COUSIN'S RESTAURANT! You can read about her and her restaurant right here. We've been wanting to try it for a while, but never had a chance to go there. On her facebook page she always posts pics of her creations, and she has some really unique stuff on the menu. I highly recommend her dessert, the Cadbury Scotch Egg... best thing I ever ate.

So yeah I went there. We had a bunch of food. Lol. I got the Salmon as my main course and it had a really yummy coconut rice on the side... delicious. Soooo good! And the drinks were yummy, the dessert was yummy... everything was really good! Highly recommend.

So then we went home. Its a bit away from us, so... yeah. And I saw I got the new Entertainment weekly in the mail and the cover is the men of Magic Mike 2... and I am staring at the cover a lot... I may hang it on my wall... lol.

Now I'm watching The Tonight show, which is usually when I blog. Jim Gaffigan is on... didn't realize he had his own show coming out! Thats exciting! I never liked Jim Gaffigan that much before... now that I'm a grown up... I like him a lot better!

And now Jimmy's doing his Thank You Letters bit and I like it... so I'm gonna go!

Byeee!
-Shannon (I spelled this with three n's at first...)

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
