Scribbles About TV: The Whispers Review

So I was going to do a review on Aquarius and watch this a second time... but I haven't even seen aquarius yet and I thought "well I pretty much got the whole story of The Whispers. Lets Do a blog on that!" So yeah.

I am kind of in love with this show. There's kind of an X-Files vibe to me for some reason. It reminds me of all the mythology episodes of The X Files and its just as scary... if not scarier than a lot of it. It also kind of reminds me of Medium... again don't know why... but when Medium was on I was like "OHhh. X Files" and now that this is on I'm kind of like "Ohhh X Files. Medium." I also feel like people that like Lost... but also horror movies will like this... its very creepy, very mysterious and there is a lot going on.

One thing I thought was interesting about the show was the characters... there are a lot of characters for this show! Probably more than they need, but I think the way that they handled it was very good. Sometimes when I see a ton of characters on a show I think "woah this is a red flag. This will be hard to follow and nothing will pay off." This has payed off a lot already. I thought the end was very twisty and really good. I don't want to give it away here... but there were a few twists and I was just like "Wow. I didn't really see any of those coming. That was quite excellent." So... yeah. That was pretty cool.

I'm gonna critique the acting a little bit... I didn't like the mom that was in a coma I believe at the end of the episode... It looked like she died at the very beginning but then I think they showed her in a coma later on... that was a little confusing to me. The girl that they questioned at the beginning... her mom. Not the best. I kind of didn't think I'd like her from the commercials, just she seemed really cheesy. Also a lot of the actors are child actors... and child actors aren't really that great. Especially on dramas that they don't really understand. And some of the kids were pretty good in this... but overall... not my favorite part about a show. Again these weren't like the worst child actors... but yeah.

Lilly Rabe I loved though! She's amazing. I missed her on AHS this year and I was really happy to see her in a role that was kind of like some of her roles in AHS. She reminded me a bit of Sister Mary Eunice I guess... but more motherly. Like how she thought of herself in the first season. Lol.

And overall... I'm really intrigued. I find a lot of stories predictable... this one I can honestly say I have no idea whats going on... and I like that lol. Its really cool and pretty different. I'm excited to see how it all connects.

Hope you guys check this out! Its kind of a cool show! I'd give it a B+ right now because its pretty unique.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
