Scribbles About Food: Red Velvet Frappuccino

This is turning into a Starbucks blog now. Lol. But I need to try all the flavors!

So the second of the new flavors that I decided to try was the Red Velvet. This tastes wayyyyy different than I expected it to, whereas with the Lemon Bar, it tasted exactly how I thought it would.

I'm used to red velvet kind of being like Vanilla Cake with Red Dye in it... thats pretty much what most "red velvet cakes" are. There are few exceptions to this (broad street dough co... I'm lookin at you! They have the best Red Velvet Donuts!) This one tastes... very VERY chocolatey. Its almost like a mocha with oreos in it. Really good, but very strong. I don't think the typical frap fan would necessarily like this one because it is actually like coffee.

The frap I would compare this most to is the one that they used to have with the chocolate and the oreos... can't think of the name of it. Mocha Cookie Crumble! This is like a stronger version of the Mocha Cookie Crumble. It has the oreos throughout it, so it still has that kind of gritty texture. I'm not always the biggest fan of that... but I can dig it in this. Especially because it kind of needs it to offset the strong chocolatey flavor of this. It adds more to the chocolate I guess... but it kind of offsets it from that also.

So I like this... is it better than Cool Ranch Doritos... no. Not really. I mean they got the flavor spot on, so the sophistication of Cool Ranch Doritos is there (if your new to this blog, I compare everything to Cool Ranch Doritos because I think they have the most sophisticated flavor.) Would I order it again... maybe. Not my first choice but maybe. I didn't love the Mocha Cookie Crumble either, but I still got that occasionally to switch things up.

And the real question: Is it better than the Lemon Bar? Clearly not lol. I ranked the Lemon Bar higher than Cool Ranch Doritos and... an even better honor... higher than Apple Pie Snapple. This doesn't get that same ranking, but I'm impressed with the chocolatey-ness of it!

Ohhh also, if you do like the typical red velvet type of thing... this might not be for you as it is more chocolatey than a hostess red velvet or something like that. So... don't get your hopes up for this one unless you're in love with the cocoa... and by that I actually mean chocolate and not cocaine. Side Note: That song isn't bad! If my cousins hadn't told me it was about cocaine though and I heard it, I'd probably think it was about chocolate and wonder why its not in a hershey's commercial. Lol. Not really... I think I'd get it... but I like chocolate and don't do drugs... Why can't I have a song. I also can't sing... ohhh problems. Lol.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
