Man Crush Monday: Chris Hardwick!

1) His standup is super funny- It's not really that often when someone who is known for being a host and doing funny interviews is actually funny himself when he does standup. I forget what his special that was on Comedy Central was called even, but it was really good. 2) I'm pretty sure he loves his job more than anyone- I just really like that he gets to be a nerd for a living and I think he really enjoys doing that. That's something to really admire. 3) He interviews everyone at the same level- One time on a Jimmy Kimmel, Nia Vardalos was a guest star. She is one of my personal heroes and I absolutely love her, but in reality she isn't the most famous person on the planet. Jimmy Kimmel was a little new of a show at the time... so I think he's probably gotten slightly better since... but when she was on all he talked about was how amazing it was that he just interviewed Quentin Tarantino the day before. Like he wouldn't shut up about it! And it was to the

Stuff That Happened This Week! (9/21/14-9/27/14)

1) Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks are split- Here is my reaction to the split... I posted this on facebook: 1) It makes me sad that Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo are over 2) I really don't like either one of them as singers, so this actually should have no impact on my life at all. 3) I like the way that facebook news says "Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo are breaking up" instead of "Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo broke up" because I feel like its happening this very moment and I'm excited. 4) I wonder if he broke the news to her by singing his name first. That is all I have to say about this break up. So yeah. That's about it. Derulo denies cheating rumors and says he and Jordin had a great relationship, but relationships have their ups and downs and they have actually split. So sad about that. Again, don't really like either of their music... so idk why I care... but I do. Also Wiz Khaliefa and his wife split! Which is more music I don't

Scribbles About TV: Gotham and How To Get Away With Murder

I have to say, as far as drama's go... I have never been as impressed as I have been with the dramas that are just airing on TV right now, and there are already a lot of great things on TV right now and I think a lot of dramas are stepping up their game and I think this season is going to be amazing. These two shows are no exception! I just felt so connected to these characters and I'm already sucked into the world created in these shows and honestly they're such simple concepts, but they have never quite been done before in this way. First I'm going to start off with Gotham. We all know the story of Batman and we love it and the characters and villains from that world. In this show, Bruce Wayne isn't Batman yet, he's a little boy that just had to watch his parents get murdered by someone the cops didn't even know. This is quite a scandal in the city of Gotham because his parents were rich and they were very well known in the community, and its not somet

Throwback Thursday: Old Microfiction Story I wrote!

Heyyy everyone! A few years ago I took a creative writing class and we learned about Microfiction, which is just a really short short story... and I wrote one, not for class... just for fun. I was going to write one of these a day... but that never happened. Maybe I'll start doing this more often again? Also I've revised this a bit... so I guess it isn't that much of a throwback... but you know. The Halloween Party  It was at a Halloween Party that they met. She only went to the party to upstage her ex's new girlfriend. He was only going to impress the cute intern at his office that he thought might like him. He wanted to dress as Batman, but seeing as how a Batman movie just came out... he decided against it. He dressed as Robin instead, figuring there would probably be no other Robins. She dressed as Sexy Batgirl. Not slutty BatGirl, because she didn't want to actually get back with her ex. She just wanted to look good enough so that she could rub it in his

Scribbles about Songs: Stay with me- Sam Smith

Soooooooo I thought about doing this type of thing for a while... and I had some opinions about this song recently and I've been hearing it on the radio a lot... so here is what I think of this song. When I first heard it, I thought it was the most romantic song in the whole world. I didn't really listen to the lyrics. It's just so cute that he wants this girl to stay with him and that she's all he needs and it's just so lovey and romantic. Then I realize the song says "This ain't love its clear to me." And I was like woahhhh hold on back up... lemme start listening to this song some more. Basically its about this guy that has a one night stand and he needs this bitch that he had the one night stand with to stay with him. Even though its not love, which is clear, he needs this girl to stay with him. Why? Because he's gotta cry and be all lovey dovey like a lil bitch! Lol. Okay I may be being a little harsh here... but listen to the lyrics! It

It List: September 2014

1) Bath and Body Works Fall Scents- I could probably go on forever of all my favorite fall things... but I'm just going to say as a whole, I friggin love bath and body works fall fragrances. Their Pocketbacks are amazing, particularly like the Pumpkin Cupcake, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles and Pumpkin Latte. Their Wallflowers are amazing, I have Spiced Pumpkin cider in right now. And their new fall scents are absolutely some of the best products that they've ever come out with. Comfort, which smells like Pumpkin Latte and Marshmallow is amazing, even my dog sniffs me like crazy when I wear it. Their Apple and Buttered Rum Orchard is amazing too, again my dog sniffs me like crazy when I wear that. And the Plum Moscatto and Almond Harvest scent is amazing too! All by far  3 of my favorite scents ever, let alone for fall! I have the travel sprays and the shower gel and the triple moisture body lotions. All around just good. Also I like the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin one (if you can't tell

Scribbles About Food: New Fall Food and Drinks

You guys may realize that I'm a basic bitch, so I like fall foods and drinks and stuff like that. And since it is now officially Fall, here are the Fall Foods that I have tried and what I think of them so far. Pumpkin Spice M&Ms- These aren't bad... they sound disgusting, but they taste like regular M&Ms... so idk how to feel really. My dad says he can taste something else... but idk lol. It's like the Birthday Cake M&Ms... very disappointed because they're so close to regular M&Ms. I friggin love the Candy Corn M&Ms though. Those are my favorites. Pumpkin Spice Milk- Yep this is a thing. I found this at wegmans and it's the brand Upstate Farms. It also sounds gross, but I thought why not try it. It's pretty good. If you like pumpkin but you don't like coffee, this may be for you. Its a very sweet flavor but not too sweet or too pumpkiny. It's just right really. Pumpkin Creme Brulee Latte from Dunkin Donuts- I've asked for t

Stuff That Happened this week! (9/14-9/21/14)

1) HIMYM Pineapple Incident Mystery= solved!- How I Met Your Mother released a new deleted scene that explains what the deal with the pineapple that Ted stole that one time when he was drunk. I was happy it was finally explained and they even made sure to include The Captain in solving their mystery... but I see why it was deleted. Ted told his kids that he still didn't know what happened with that pineapple. And now they just use it basically as an advertisement to buy the complete series. I'm a little over HIMYM now that the finale was so bad. It just... meh. 2) Honey Boo Boo's mom breaks up with Sugar Bear- Well okay, not necessarily "breaks up" but they're taking some time apart. Not shocking, I mean not to sound sexist or anything... but I think Honey Boo Boo's mom has 4 kids all from different fathers none of which are Sugar Bear. Not really judging, but that is a hard situation for a guy to get into in the first place... plus then he has to be on

Scribbles About Movies: Maze Runner Review!

I read the Maze Runner book, and I really really liked it... still haven't finished the series, but I really do like the first book. So obviously I had to see the movie! I was pretty pumped about the movie because a lot of the things in the book were hard to picture... but I really wasn't expecting too much from the movie. I really wanted to see it, and I even saw it the day it came out cause I was so excited, but I still wasn't expecting it to be anything amazing or anything. But my mom did say it got good reviews, so that excited me too!  And then like immediately when the movie started... I was super SUPER into it! The book begins with Thomas just kind of thrown into this world with this maze and he's brought up into the world through a little elevator type of thing. And the way the camera is and everything, you feel like YOU'RE THERE WITH HIM! Like we as an audience enter this crazy dystopian society when the main character of the film enters! That immediatel

Throwback Thursday: The Glass Menagerie

So I am taking a class right now about plays and we're reading a lot of plays I read in high school and stuff... so I figured hey, why not write a throwback Thursday about the one we started with. The Glass Menagerie was probably one of my favorite things that they made us read in high school... but in recent years I've found it kind of ridiculous. It's a weird concept for a play, all the characters are odd and its pretty bizarre overall. I thought it would be one of those plays that if I ever had to read it again, I wouldn't like it. Actually, I feel like I like it a little bit more now. It isn't different really, but I feel like I connected to different characters differently. The only person that I could connect with in high school was Laura and that was because I felt like I was in a very similar situation to her relationship with Jim and the kiss. I couldn't relate to Tom because I refused to really pay attention to his lines because my Jim at the time

MAKE PUMPKIN SPICE COOL AGAIN!

Recently, it has come to my attention that one of the best seasonal things in the world is not cool anymore... Which I'm sorry, but I will not stand for. There are few things I can say I genuinely love in this world... and I can say without a doubt Pumpkin Spice is one of them. Not Pumpkin Pie, that shit is gross, but pumpkin flavored anything... I'm on board for. Pumpkin Spice Lattes? Delicious! Waffles???? Sign me up! Thomas's Pumpkin Bagels? I'm disappointed because I'm pretty sure these don't exist anymore but they are fantastic. And now because of the buzz a certain internet feed is giving the product (not naming names... although I kind of think I just did.). It's become not cool anymore. Apparently liking pumpkin spice makes you a basic bitch. I'm sorry, but I refuse to be a basic bitch, and I REFUSE to give up my love of pumpkin spice. I'm a pretty cool bitch if I do say so myself. I have a leather jacket even. I mean I haven't worn i

Scribbles About Movies: 10 Fall Movies I'm excited for!

So there aren't too many movies this month I'm all that excited for, but there are a lot coming up that sound good and that I really want to make a point to go see. 1) Maze Runner- This is coming out next week and I loved the book so I'm really excited to see it! When I was reading the book, there was a lot of stuff I was having trouble visualizing some of the parts, so I think a movie would make it make more sense to me. I had the same trouble with Catching Fire and I really liked the movie because of that. Really excited to see this next week. 2) This is Where I Leave You- I love the idea of this movie, and the cast is probably the best cast ever. Jason Bateman? Tina Fey? Forget it! I'm totally in! So excited for this movie. It looks absolutely amazing I really really cannot WAIT for this! This is probably what I'm most excited to see also. I really like these sort of grown up children dysfunctional family movies. Another weirdly specific genre I like. 3) No

Scribbles About TV: Best Lines From Shows

A lot of times a lot of jokes and stuff in tv shows can get lost throughout the entire series and things like that... but there are a few hidden gems in the writing world that just stick out to me even years after the show has ended. This is kind of something I want to do a lot in with my writing, so this is something that's important to me. These may not be the exact lines and they aren't the Will And Grace  This is what inspired this post. There's an episode where I believe Grace is fighting with her friend Ellen and Karen is trying to stick up for Grace I believe. She insults what Ellen is wearing and: Ellen: I got this from Ann Taylor Loft! Karen: And when you walked down the street I bet they all Loft! (meaning laughed.) I just thought that was so funny. And now of corse whenever I see a Loft or an Ann Taylor Loft I say "and when you walk down the street, they'll all lof" lol. I was with a group of my friends a few weeks ago and one of my friends

Scribbles About TV: Fall Shows I'm excited for

So this year, there are actually quite a few shows I'm excited to see. A couple I've seen already thanks to early previews online, but yeah there are quite a few. Fox  I'm starting with Fox because I don't really know what they have this year, but so far there is one thing I'm very very interested in. Want to take a guess? Gotham of corse! I'm a huge Batman fan and when I heard about a series... I damn near lost it. I love a good villain origin story, that is probably my favorite type of weirdly specific subgenre, but I'm a total sucker for it. It'll be like Once Upon a Time, but with Batman Villains. Super super pumped. Also Jada Pinkett Smith is in it and she looks super cool in the trailers. NBC  NBC has a couple things I think look interesting. I already saw the pilot for From A to Z and I wasn't that impressed with it. There was nothing amazing about it, the characters were blah. It wasn't horrible, but I won't be rewatching the p

Stuff That Happened This Week (9/7/14-9/13/14)

1) Actress from Chicago Fire killed in Biking Accident- Actress Molly Glynn was riding a bike with her husband while the two got caught in a storm. She was about to take cover from the storm when a tree fell down right on top of her, and killed her. Her husband had described it all as happening very fast and there was nothing he could do about it. I've only seen a few episodes of Chicago fire and I don't know who she is, but this is a terrible accident that could happen to anyone very unexpectedly. It's very sad and she will be missed. Glynn was 46 years old. 2) Kate Middleton and Prince William expecting Baby #2- Just a few months after Prince George celebrated his first birthday, it is announced that Wills and Kate are expecting another baby! I'm very excited about this news if its true, but I'm not sure how much I really trust facebook news. I trust it more than E or radio news... so it could be true... but I don't know. I'll probably hear more about it

Close Encounters of the Real People kind: Strange Train Encounters

So I've been commuting to school 3 days a week, as I have previously mentioned and yesterday was a particularly strange day to say the least. First off on my way to the train station I heard this conversation. This definitely really happened, I don't know the exact context of the conversation, it may have been a joke, but this is what went down. Woman : Excuse me do you work on this train? Man : No Woman : Do you know if this train is going south or not Man: I'm not sure, where are you going. Woman: I don't know! Man: You don't know?! Woman: It's none of your business! Go Away! And I was like Woahhhhhhhhh! Did that shit really just happened. And yes, it did happen. Just like that too! It was so weird. First off: It's pretty easy to tell who works on the train and who doesn't. Usually the person working on the train has a conductors hat and a bunch of ticket taking tools. Second she was the one asking him for directions, she shouldn

Shannon Goes Viral! 9/10/14 (Rugrats Horror Film, Ducktales, Chris Pratt at the Ball Game &More)

So I have watched some internet videos... and I'm going to tell you guys about them right now! 1) Rugrats Live Action Horror Film on FunnyorDie- I love Rugrats, I thought that when Funny or Die posted about having your childhood ruined with a fake trailer for a live action Rugrats it would just be disturbing because a live action rugrats is a disturbing image in itself. Boy was I wrong! This totally ruined my childhood and I'm not totally sure I'll be able to watch Rugrats ever again! Lol it had Angelica murdering Grandpa Lou and telling the babies that if they told she would take away their reptar. It had Phil addicted to the bottle and he slapped Lil and said it's okay because its his sister. It had a terrifying Angelica asking Chuckie if she wanted her to be his mommy since he had no mommy... it was absolutely horrifying. It was actually funny, but overwhelmingly really disturbing and it will give you troubles sleeping. I'm glad this was on Funny or Die and not

Scribble about TV: Selfie Review

After watching Forever I was curious as to what other shows had their pilot's online. This was the only other show that I really wanted to see that was available online. Marry Me, How To Get Away With Murder and Gotham aren't available yet sadly. But anyway, I thought this show looked funny and I figured I'd watch it online to get a feel for it before it airs. It wasn't bad, it was just a little bit of an odd pilot. It starts out showing that the leading lady on the show, Eliza, who used to be unpopular in school and no one liked her, but then she got hot and everyone liked her again. Now she's got a job thats unclear. Like she's instagram famous but she's the lead sales rep of the company or something but only because she's sleeping with the boss who is married. That whole concept of what her job is didn't really make that much sense. I would have rather she just been a model that was overly attached to Instagram and her iphone and John Cho would

Scribbles About TV: Forever Review

I was so excited that ABC showed this on their website early. This is the one show I was actually really excited to see this year, and it did not disappoint. So the whole "guy that lives forever" thing is interesting enough as it is and I think they pulled it off really really well. They show him die in these spectacular, exciting ways. The first one that we see is him getting into a subway crash. Then he is reborn in the water and comes out naked every time. This is the main character btw, Henry Morgan. Only one other person knows his secret and at the end of the episode, we get to see who this man is and find out why he is the person that knows Henry's Secret. And its actually really sweet, I don't want to spoil it but its a nice little touch that they added to the episode. It's also a crime show as well though. Henry is a medical examiner and he meets a detective/ pretty lady that is trying to solve what happened on this subway. If it was a homicide or if i

Stuff That Happened This Week

1) Lots of Celeb Weddings- Ashlee Simpson got married to Diana Ross's son in Diana Ross's house! This is just a few short weeks after her ex husband and father of her child Pete Wentz had a baby with girlfriend Meghan Camper that I somehow forgot to report about. Also Gabrielle Union got married to a football player I believe, Jenny McCarthy married Donnie Wahlberg. And We also got to see pictures of Angelina Jolie's Wedding Dress, which included designs from her kids on the bottom which was adorable. I wonder what Joan Rivers would have said about that! Lol. 2) Lots of Celebrity Babies too- Carrie Underwood is pregnant, Alyssa Milano just had a baby. I think that other people announced their babies or had their babies or something of the like. Ohhh Scarlett Johansen had her baby girl. A lot of celebs are happier than ever I would say. Very nice. 3) Lots of celebrities involved in a nude photo scandal- A lot of female celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence, Victoria Ju

Unfamous Claim to Fame's

I've realized one thing recently: I am not famous. That being said, I feel like I might have some claim to fames that you might know me from. I'm pretty sure that if you look at Kaitlin Olson's audition tape from "It's Always Sunny in Phillidelphia" I'm the #1 comment on the video. I noticed that under related videos it had Rachel McAdams audition tape for The Notebook. I think thats ironic since we all know that Dee Reynolds was supposed to have her part in The Notebook. I think Dee would have done a much better job. Also if you google my name: Shannon Kahermanes it says that I died in a plane crash. Which I didn't but I was in a local NJ newspaper called The Coaster once and the headline in this paper was that 4 people died in a plane crash or something. Me and 3 of my friends were in the paper for seeing Fall Out Boy on The Today Show, but I guess because that's the headline it looks like we all died in a plane crash. We didn't I can ass

Flashback Friday: Hey Arnold Parent's Day Episode

So this is a new thing called Flashback Friday which is basically Throwback Thursday on a Friday. I think I'll continue to do Throwback Thursdays, but I really wanted to post something about Joan Rivers yesterday, so I thought that was a little more important to post. When I saw that The 90s are All That were airing the Parent's Day episode of Hey Arnold. This is really one of those iconic moments in cartoon history, at least throughout my childhood. It's one of those cartoons that you watch as a kid and it makes you sad. It makes you feel more things than the run-of-the mill cartoon. And the creators of the show totally didn't have to include this info about Arnold. We knew Arnold lived with his grandparents and we could just accept that... but they decided to go a step further and give Arnold adventurer parents that could in fact still be alive. I was a little surprised at how mean Helga was in this episode actually. She is always mean to Arnold, but she would usu

Remembering Joan Rivers

I did have a Throwback Thursday planned for today, but I will be posting that tomorrow instead because I really admire Joan Rivers and I wanted to say some things about her. She is one of my idols, as a female that wants to go into comedy, I look up to any female that does comedy... but Joan Rivers I think really made a huge difference for all women in show business today. I love that she would never hold back what she was saying. Whether it was about a person's outfit or what she truly thought of someone, she would always say the exact truth... and honestly thats what we should all want to hear! She reminds me of my really good friends that I feel like I can depend on telling me their honest feelings without sugar coating anything. Like she's actually wise and is fabulous so she knows what she's doing and you should take her advice. Her appearance on Louie was so true to how she was as a person even a comedian like Louis Ck could take her advice and benefit from it. Sh

Scribbles About TV: The League Season 6 Premier.

Soooo I kind of forgot to post something... but I watched the League and I thought it was funny? The End? Lol I guess I should post a little bit more than that, I didn't watch the end of last season before watching this, so I didn't actually know who won the Shiva and the Sacko, but I thought it was super funny that Jenny won the Shiva and sadly Kevin won the Sacko. Also random: I recently had a dream that I was dating Steve Rannazzisi and I referred to him by his whole name and everything, which is weird. Anyway I sort of have a thing for him now and I thought he was hot. He's kind of disgusting most of the time but whatever. Guess I think he's hot now. Speaking of hot guys, what about Adam Brody dying!!!! I'm in love with him and I thought it was pretty funny. Not surprised they drafted at his funeral because really, he would have wanted it that way. I mean clearly he loved all of them and he even is leaving his house to whoever wins! That's a crazy plot t

Top Charts and stuff this week: Sept 1st 2014

iTunes  5) Break Free  by  Ariana Grande ft. Zedd- I always say that I kind of hate Ariana Grande, but I like Problem and Bang Bang... So I guess I like her? This isn't bad. I would have been okay with this if it played when I was working. Not the best but it's good.  4) Anaconda by Nicki Minaj- I'm kind of obsessed with this song. I don't know why, I've started loving Nicki Minaj from nowhere! I blame my friend Regan lol. I also like the Sir Mixalot song that they use, so obviously I like it! And the fart edit of the video is hilarious!  3) Bang Bang by Jesse J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj- I just mentioned that I like this song a lot. I like Nicki Minaj a lot. The thing I don't like about Ariana Grande is that her song The Way just sounded like it's been around forever and there wasn't anything fun or different about it. It just sounded like a TLC song, but it isn't.  2) All About That Bass- I've mentioned liking this song before too. It'
