Feeling Lovely Thursday: Best Products Under $10

Sooo I'm kind of excited about this. I'm going to do another theme day for Thursday. I'm calling it "Feeling Lovely Thursday" because this will be where I talk about beauty, fashion, basically anything that makes me feel lovely. I have a tumblr for beauty blogging, but I feel like this is a better place to talk about that kind of stuff. Plus, I'll probably actually keep up with this day because I have some free time on Thursdays to blog and shiz. This one I'm pre- blogging though... so I guess that doesn't help much.

Sooo I thought I would do a best products under $10 type of thing because a lot of people think make up is expensive and stuff, but it honestly doesn't have to be. I think of it as a total luxury, whether it is the most expensive fancy eyeshadow in the world, or eyeshadows that are like $4 at the drugstore. It's just something I buy because it makes me happy, not because I need it, which is why I love buying the more affordable things. Blah Blah blah super long intro- lets get to the good stuff! I'm going to break it down into categories cause that seems nice.

And also I'm putting the prices down so that you can know just how under $10 these things are. It's not like I have money to buy all of these things at once( I'm a poor college student) but over the past couple years I've tried this stuff and its been good.

HAIR
 1) L'Oreal Total Repair 5 balm (6.99)- I really like this stuff. I haven't tried many other deep repair conditioners, but I've heard people like this more than the Macadamia one... and I love this one so much and I don't want to spend $20 on the Macadamia one... so yeah this is awesome! If you leave it in overnight and wash it out in the morning, your hair will feel soft and lovely. I only use this like once a week (and I don't always leave it on overnight) and you only need a little bit... so it'll probably last me a long time!

2) L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Dry Oil (6.99) - This is something I just bought recently and I was kind of like "meh, I don't know if I need a dry oil, idk what that even means" but I like this a lot. It makes my hair feel nice, and it makes it shiny. I feel like I need some life, and this oil gives it.

3) Batiste Dry Shampoo (6.99-7.99 depending on where you get it I think? Not sure, Harmon has it cheaper I think.) - This is great. If you spray some before you go to bed your hair will stay in place. If you spray it in the morning, you can look like you have clean hair and go on your marry way and not wash your hair for a little bit without being gross.

MASCARA
1) Physician's Formula Organic Jumbo Wear - This is usually $9.99,so it just misses the mark, but Harmon has Physicians formula a little cheaper than everywhere else (and probably bed bath and beyond too, they're owned by the same place.) Mine was 7.99 and I used a 20 percent bed bath and beyond coupon, so it was a little cheaper. Every dollar counts right? Anyway this basically is what your lashes are supposed to look like. It doesn't clump, it has a bit of fallout, but its nothing major. It's also "organic", which Idk what that really means for mascara, but I feel better using it.

2) L'Oreal Butterfly (8.99  I think?) This is a new mascara that I just bought and I haven't used it a whole lot, but I really like it. The brush is very nice. It's a wet formula (I think? I'm no expert, but it feels wetter than Maybeline's mascara.) I find it a little hard to apply because it is so wet. Just do it very lightly and its pretty buildable.

Eyeshadows
1) Nyx Palettes- I have a couple of these. I got the Smokey Palette, which is like 7.99 and the Love in Paris Mon Cherie palette, which was like 9.99. I really like both of them, especially the love in Paris one. You can really get a ton of different looks and it is my favorite of the moment right now.

2) Maybeline eyestudio quads- These have such a nice feel to them and the colors are really pigmented. I only have Copper Chic, which is pretty much all I used last year. There is one color that was similar to Stila's Kitten that I totally used up. Still has other great colors, and this is something I should try more of.

FACE
1) Covergirl Outlast 3-in 1 foundation- I think this is 8.99 or 9.99... maybe its less depending on where you get it. I had a coupon, so again it was cheaper. This applies really nicely, its hard to tell the colors, I got a different color than I am. It is a more matte looking formula, which I wasn't totally crazy about at first, but it makes my skin look so nice and kind of glowy and beautiful. I like it.

2) Maybeline Dream Lumi Concealer- This is a brightening concealer. I don't typically use concealer, but I can't sleep that well anymore and I kind of like it. I don't know if it is everything I want in a concealer, but it makes me look awake. Probably not the best thing out there, but as of now I quite like it.

LIPS
1) Revlon Lip Butters- Honestly, most of my lip products are cheaper than this, but I want to do a products under $5 too... but this I'm not just trying to fill up space with this product. It's absolutely amazing. It's like a really pigmented lip balm basically. I don't wear a lot of lipsticks, but I have Berry Smoothie and Strawberry Shortcake and they're both really great colors. Probably my favorite lipstick that I have. I looked these up, I don't think theres a set price, but its 5-7 dollars I think. More in the 5-6 area I think. So worth it!

BATH AND BODY
Avon Naturals, Body Mist, Shower Gel, and Body Lotion- I love these. I think the mists are $9, lotion is $7 and Shower gel is $6. Soooo great! They also always have specials like buy 5 for $10, so you could get a bunch for $10! And they all smell so good, they have a really great variety of scents, for every season really. They smell just as good as Bath and Body works, and I think the Body Spray lasts a little bit longer as a matter of fact! Really recommend these.

Bath and Body works Fresh Picked Hard Working Hand and Body Cream- Ohhhhh my gosh I love this. This is a recent discovery, its $8 and it works really well too. I've only used it on my hands. I was actually wearing it yesterday and the girl at the pizza place was like "oh do you have some sort of perfume or lotion on, it smells really good." It lingers a little bit, but it doesn't really overwhelm, unless you use like half the thing. This is also a lot of product for $8! I was surprised cause everything is usually so expensive at bath and body works, but this was amazing!

So yeah, I hope you found that helpful, maybe it showed you some new things and helped you save a little money. Next Week I'll do a 5 under 5 so you can save even more money!

Hope you are all feeling lovely this Thursday!

Byeeeee!
Shannon

It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea...

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...
