APPyness: Pokemon Go

The App everyone is talking about: Pokemon Go! I was excited about this because I was never good at the gameboy pokemon games. I loved the TV show and I collected the cards and the toys. One of the best moments of my life was getting the Pikachu Burger King toy.. but because I never played the game I feel a little excluded from the nostalgia.

My main problem with the game boy games was that it was kind of hard to catch a pokemon... but this is pretty easy. You just look for them and then swipe your phone screen and hope they don't run away from you.

I also like that it is a virtual reality game... but it doesn't really go overboard. Its done well but you still know that you're playing a videogame. You aren't sucked into the game too much. I like that they have the avatar trainers that you can customize... I'm a fan of any game you can customize like that.

And you just find pokemon around where you're at basically. You can walk around your neighborhood or go to the beach or even at Disney they have Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms.

Although I have been playing it a lot... and I do think its fun... I'd say not worth the hype. The thing about looking at your phone while walking around in public means that A) You aren't paying attention to where you're going B) You're drawing a lot of attention to your phone. And people like to steal phones. I remember getting a lot of crime alerts at college because people got mugged for their cell phones... so just be smart about it. Use common sense. Watch your kids when they play with it, don't use it in the car or hiking by a cliff. If you have an ounce of common sense... it isn't that hard.

I didn't really like the pokemon gyms either. I just don't like the gym... haha. No its just... not really my thing. I feel bad battling my pokemon. I didn't think it was that fun. I prefer catching the pokemon and naming them and going to the pokestops than battling my pokemon.

Usually I play this while I'm a passenger in a car... and its fun that way. I don't have to move any extra. I can see the pokestops and things like that... and thats pretty fun to me. I don't need to battle my pokemon or anything. I'm not playing this every second of every day... I just casually play it.

Hope this review was fun. What do you guys think of it?

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
