Review Time: HIMYM Final Season

I was really scared about this season. I get kind of bored when everyone is in one place for a super long time and I didn't think I would like that the season was all at Barney and Robin's wedding weekend instead of just at the bar as usual.

I'm very happy that I was wrong. This season has been amazing and instead of having the setting limit the story creatively, I think its actually allowed for more creativity. One thing that has impressed me the most was that they are still doing "holiday" episodes even though it doesn't take place during the holidays. The last episode was an all rhyming Thanksgiving/Christmas type episode and it was really clever and brilliant. I loved the rhyming episode, it was just so funny, especially since Marshall was telling his son stories that aren't really kid appropriate as if they were fairy tales. I just thought it was really funny. They did a Halloween episode with a haunted hotel room as well, which was very clever.

They've also done a great job at really developing the characters. We've known these characters for 9 years and we're just now seeing Lilly and Marshall apart (not like when they were broken up, just not in the same place). This was a great idea not only to bring back some jokes from earlier seasons like Marshall's road trip song, the pizza place, and Marshall outrunning machines. Plus we're seeing not only more of Barney's relationship with his crazy family, but Robin's relationship with them as well. AND WE LEARNED ABOUT ROBIN'S OWN MOM! We had never heard anything about her, and now we know 3 things, which is enough for us really. I just kind of like that we don't know her.

And we get to see a new side of Lilly and Ted's relationship, which we never really saw before on their own. Lilly is "the wise one of the group" and she doesn't want Ted to end up with Robin, and she's met the mother and she has a lot in common with her. I think Lilly already knows that the Mother would pass the Front Porch test, and she seems to fit in with the group perfectly.

And speaking of the Mother, she is perfect! I love her character so much, she just seems like such a nice girl that it's easy to see how the group instantly becomes friends with her and how Ted instantly falls in love with her. How she met Barney was just so sweet and I'm glad that they included that in there, and that she will get to see him actually getting married. I wish they included her a little bit more in the actual show.

As for the How I Met Your Father show thats in the works... I don't like the idea. I'm probably going to watch it and I'm probably going to love it, but I mean I've been watching How I Met Your Mother for 9 years and I don't want to watch the same show again for another 10 years. The great thing about HIMYM is that it's different than anything else on TV. I mean sure it's the same idea as friends and seinfeld, but with the "mother" storyline it's been much more of a mystery and really a very different show.

I have had some problems with HIMYM as well, I mean they make Barney too over the top and Ted too boring sometimes, but overall I think it is a great show, and it is really going out with the best season they've ever had. It's been really fun to watch, and for some reason this is my favorite show to blog about, so expect a lot of HIMYM blogs coming up! And I think I'm going to do another TV Review of The Carrie Diaries... cause I have some thoughts about this season too.

Byeeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
