Review Time! Brooklyn 99

Okay this week is finals week and all this crap is happening right now, so here is a quick little review on my favorite show this year Brooklyn 99.

It's a workplace comedy about cops basically. It's similar to Parks and Recreation and The Office, but they put a different spin on it, so it doesn't feel like you're watching the same show done 3 different ways. The mockumentary- type style things are my favorite type of shows and I really don't know why. These don't use any talking heads or anything like that, instead they show a lot of flashbacks, which is cool and different. It's just different and good.

I didn't think this show would be that good honestly and I really have no idea why. I like the type of show it is, I think Andy Samberg and Joe LaTrujio (I think thats how you spell his name... not sure). I guess the cop thing kind of threw me off and the commercials didn't look that amazingly funny. I happened to catch an episode because I had nothing to do and nothing else was on, and it was incredible. I think I started watching on the third episode and I knew I needed to go back and watch the first two like right away. And I did quite a few times.

And Andy Samberg is funnier than I thought. I always thought he was funny in The Lonely Island and stuff and I happened to like the movie Hot Rod a lot, but I never thought he was that great in SNL sketches. I didn't really think he could act and I feel like he knew that on SNL which is why he did digital shorts mostly, but he is so funny on this show. And a lot of the rest of the cast are pretty unknown like Santiago and Rosa and they are really good. And Gina played by Chelsea Peretti, who is just one of the funniest people on the planet is amazing.

Overall its a really great show. Puts a nice spin on workplace comedies and different than any other cop show on tv. Definitely check it out, I guarantee you will laugh your ass off.

That is it. I am tired and I need to get back to writing about the wire for class, I still have 2 pages left and I make bad life choices...

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
