Hump Day Update: 11/29/17

What I'm Watching  I feel like everything has been repeats lately on TV- but I've been watching a lot of Christmas specials on TV. I watched A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and The Thanksgiving Day Parade... I watched Rudolph last night and Santa Clause is Coming to Town recently... and the Victoria Secret Fashion Show- which was last night... so yeah that was all good. I also watched some episodes of Mom and some repeats because it is now in syndication... so that's exciting. There was an I Heart Radio Music Festival on on Friday Last Week and that was really great. Just a lot of good holiday music specials lately. News  Matt Lauer was fired from NBC amongst Sexual Harassment allegations. Prince Harry is Engaged to an American Actress named Meghan Markle. The Queen's Corgis approved... so that is a good sign. I'm also popular with Corgi's... just sayin. Food and Drink  I went to a place in Asbury called Loteria. That is really good... I had a Ca

How To-sday: How To Arrange a Bookshelf

Ahhhh arranging a bookshelf. If you thought you knew how to do it you're probably wrong because I just did it wayyy better! 1) Use it For DVDs  I don't always keep a lot of my books... so many of my book shelves are really DVD shelves. So yeah. 2)  By Genre...  You ever think "Hey I'm in the mood for a horror Movie" and all you're finding is rom coms? Fear no more! Just arrange your dvds according to different genres. I have a section for Romantic Comedies/Chick Flicks, Horror and serious movies... on that shelf I also have my X Files DVDs and Tim Burton Movies because that fit there... One shelf I have cartoons, kids movies and holiday movies... one shelf is comedies, next shelf is TV... and I think that's it. 3) Give Wes Anderson Movies Their Own Shelf-  The only movie that didn't fit in my collection was The Royal Tenenbaums... Couldn't figure out where to put it... so it might get it's own shelf. Maybe I'll get other Wes Anders

Shannon's European Adventures- Story Time!

I feel like I tell these stories often. None of these are crazy stories or interesting things really... they're just kind of funny stories that happened to me... and I'm a little dramatic when I tell them. 1- The Time I almost got lost in the Palace of Versailles  This was just for a brief second... but the group I was with was a little behind the other groups... I think when we were having lunch or buying a snack or something maybe? I think I got a Fanta there... maybe not? I don't know if that's a thing you can do. But point is we thought we were locked in this one room... we weren't. I remember saying "You know how you guys always said you wanted to live in a palace?" Lol. 2. I got lost at the Louvre  Yep... I got separated from the group at the Louvre too... I don't think I was in any group... This story isn't that interesting... but I think the protocall was to go back to the place where I got lost... and I didn't do that... I asked

Chart Chat 11.24.17

Chart chat is moved to Fridays now? Makes sense! Here we go! 10) Jigsaw- This will probably be off the charts this weekend because... who really wants to see Jigsaw on Thanksgiving. I'm interested in what people will see this holiday weekend... my guess is Coco. But yeah! This is a movie. 9) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri- This is about a mom... I'm presuming played by Francis McDormand and she's not happy with how the police are handling investigating her daughter's murder... so that sounds interesting. I don't know if I like Woody Harrelson or Francis McDormand who are the stars of this movie... I see Harrelson as Grace's Boyfriend from Will and Grace... or Haymitch or the guy from Zombieland... idk. 8) Lady Bird- I saw the trailer for this and it looks amazing. My kind of movie for sure. I really want to see this one! Very interesting looking. 7) A Bad Mom's Christmas- I want to see this movie too! I really like Bad Mom's and I love

Thankful Thursday 10 Silly Things To Be Thankful For...

Soooo I want to do this instead of a Throwback Thursday... but I don't want to get all mushy on what I'm Thankful for... so I'm just picking out the silliest things that make me ridiculously happy every day. 1) I'm happy no one quite gets why Blake Shelton is The Sexiest Man Alive this year- This was just a really funny thing that everyone in the world was like "Him? Does he have a good publicist or something?" because... I mean it could have been Idris Elba... It could have been Dwayne The Rock Johnson but no... Blake Shelton. 2) The Oprah Weight Watchers Commercials- Not a day goes by when I'm not thankful for Oprah's announcement that she loves bread. And not a day ever will. 3) The Thought of Jim Belushi getting knighted- Can you imagine? Sir Jim Belushi. 4) The Chrystler Commercials with Cookie Monster and Elmo- These make me super happy... I love cookie monster. 5) The Fact that they are actual making Thanksgiving Pants- This reminds me

Hump Day Update! 11/22/17

What I'm Watching  I watched all of the Community Christmas episodes over the weekend... there might have been one or 2 that I missed... but I watched the first 3 seasons and I loveeee that show and their holiday episodes are the best! I also watched Corky Romano with my friend this week... weird movie... but a good one. Tonight I'm really excited because Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is on and after that they're showing repeats (I think) of Modern Family and American Housewife. I also watched Fresh Off The Boat and The Middle. Those were good this week. The Middle isn't my favorite show... but I do really love Fresh Off The Boat. So happy Life in Pieces is back... I also watched Mom and I watched some of Curb Your Enthusiasm... so so funny! That's about it! News Charlie Rose is the latest person accused of Sexual Harassment and has since been let go from his show CBS This Morning and his show on PBS. He didn't deny allegations, but he also said wha

How To-sday: How To Dog Sit

I thought I would bring How To-sday Back... but again... I'd like to do it in a more personal way and talk about what I actually did this week that's a little different than what I usually do and teach you how to do that... or maybe something that isn't new... but idk maybe a little different... I already have an idea for next week in fact! This might be satirical... so keep that in mind. Anyway... so yeah dogsitting! My friend was going away for the weekend while she was dogsitting- so I get to watch the cute puppy! I miss my own puppy but I love having puppies around! Which brings me to #1! 1) Love Dogs!  Seriously... if you don't love dogs what kind of sick monster are you? Especially if you clicked a video saying how to dog sit... just make sure to actually love dogs at all times... in any situation. It will make you feel better about things like the patriarchy being terrible and Casey Affleck winning the Oscar after he's been a known abuser of women... oka

Hump Day Update: 11/15/17

What I'm Watching  Right now the Wednesday Night Comedies on ABC. I'm excited because they weren't on last week and now they're back! And that's exciting! Last night was the last American Horror Story Cult... and I'm okay with how it ended... it's not my favorite ending ever... or maybe it is... I don't know. I think I liked how Murder House ended and Hotel ended pretty good... But this was a powerful ending and it felt a little personal... but yeah. I'm happy it's over because Winter died... so yeah. I didn't like how it started because I am sooo not interested about men in prison... ehhh. I watched one episode of This is Us... I'm not in love with this season. It isn't bad... just not my favorite after last year's amazing season. But you know... it's still a show. And I watched some Kevin Saves The World... that show is really good. I like it a lot. It's cute. News  I was a fan of Louie CK but I'm not any

Chart Chat (11.14.17)

10) Lady Bird- This got amazing reviews and Oscar Buzz from Sandy Kenyon who said that he really loves being a movie critic for having the chance to see little movies like this. And he said this movie will be talked about in the future around Oscar time. It sounds amazing! 9) Happy Death Day- I've talked about wanting to see this before... but I have to say I don't love the repetitive type movies like 50 First Dates... I've never seen Groundhog Day... but maybe I'll give this a chance when it's on TV or video... as long as I don't have to see it on my birthday... which is why I didn't want to see this. 8) Blade Runner 2049- I'm just kind of waiting for this to leave the charts. 7) Geostorm- This sounds interesting... but not my thing. Lol. I'm surprised it's still on the charts... but it's been on for a bit I think... and that's a thing. 6) Tyler Perry's Boo 2: A Madea Halloween- Surprised to see this on the charts also still.

I Ate At A Restaurant Right Before it Got Shut Down...

Remember how I mentioned that I went to Serendipity 3 for my 16th birthday and there was a little story behind that also... well... Even though I knew my parents didn't really like the food- I really liked the desserts there and the food I had was pretty good so I still wanted to go back. And my friends had talked about it every once and a while and I wanted to do something special with them too... so I thought going to NY for that would be pretty fun. And before we went there we stopped at Dylan's Candy Bar... which is the first time I had ever been there and that place is a lot of fun too. I've been there once since then and it's just a cool place... and I love candy so yeah. It was fun we each made a bucket of candy. So... yeah we went and we had fun and then I think the very same week... definitely within a month the restaurant was all over the news... and if you read the title I'm sure you know why! It was closed because of health code violations... I belie

12 Things (11.12.17)

1) There wasn't a lot of good Pop Culture News this week... so I thought I would do another one of these types of posts because I still wanted to post something.  2) I got a bunch of Aromatherapy Lotions during the Bath and Body Works Lotion Sale... I think last year it was only the Signature Collection lotions- but this year it included the Aromatherapy and the Triple Moisture Body Cream... so I thought that was kind of exciting- even thought it was 3.95 instead of the $3 it usually is... I'm not mad about it lol.  3) I thought today was supposed to be a little chillier than it was yesterday... but I didn't think it was. Wind wasn't as strong... so yeah.  4) Since it's November 12th, I thought I'd do 12 things instead of 10... so that's why I have 12 things.  5) I'm watching The Good Place right now... I was skeptical about this season... but I think it's the best season yet. It reminds me a little of Parks and Rec and Community combi

Weekly Favorites 11.11.17

Sooo I don't have a list the way I did last week... I'm just going to kind of go through my day. I've been loving the Chestnut Praline Latte... today I actually tried the Eggnog Latte... and I love that too. I don't like the Gingerbread anymore... they changed it and now it has kind of a flower taste... my mom and I thought they put the Berry Hibiscus syrup in the latte instead of the Gingerbread... but it just changed and tasted weird now... so I'm not ordering that again. I did have a lot of fun with the buy one get one free that is STILL going on now... it's great. Speaking of Starbucks... the Holiday Sandwich! OMG! It's almost impossible to get- but it is just really really amazing! It has Turkey, Stuffing, Cranberry and I think just a touch of gravy. So yummy. It's not that easy to get. I really liked Young Sheldon this week too... I missed it the week before- but its such a cute show I think I'll keep watching it... even though I don'

Throwback Thursday- Pop Star: Never Stop Never Stopping

Ughhhh I keep teasing the Throwback Thursdays for AHS... and they're coming... but I was going to finish watching the first season this morning... and I had a nightmare about American Horror Story... it kind of combined Tate with Kai... and it was good because Evan Peters was in it... but it was scary still... so it wasn't exactly the first thing I wanted to watch. But anyway in an attempt to watch movies more often... I saw this on demand and I was like "You know, I've never seen this movie." So I watched it and I really really liked it. It was so funny... I wish I had watched it sooner... it was great. So it's kind of based off The Lonely Island sketches and it's also pretty much a parody of Justin Bieber's movie and his career lows... Andy Samberg plays Connor4Real who was in a band with 2 of his best friends that he grew up with... I think they called that band "The Style Boyz" or something and they had some hits but then they broke u

Hump Day Update (11.8.17)

What I'm Watching  American Horror Story! Both Cult and Murder House... I didn't like Cult this week... but I'm excited for the finale. I liked this season a lot... but I'm kind of happy that it's ending because it's just pretty tense... and it's a great season but it's hard to watch. I watched the ABC comedies... I liked Fresh Off The Boat, Blackish and The Mayor... Blackish was especially good... this season has been my favorite so far. I kind of saw the Middle... I like the show but I'm okay with it being the last season. It's not bad... but I don't think any season was "The Best Season Ever" or something... I just think it's a good show that hasn't jumped the shark... it's just kind of run its corse. News Disney was looking into buying 20th Century Fox... but then they didn't... I have no idea why this is in the news as it was already announced that they wouldn't be partnering. Disney could have pos

Chart Chat 11.7.17

10) Let There Be Light This is a religious movie that will likely be on the charts for weeks because people see it in Church groups... I've never heard about it before... it's about an Atheist that goes through a near death experience and then believes in Christianity. Near Death Experiences are interesting... this plot sounds kind of interesting but... it doesn't sound like much for a whole movie... There have been other movies of this variety that sound interesting and something that my mom watches even though we don't go to church... it could be very sad too... so keep that in mind. I'm excited for the movie Wonder to come out... It has Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Daveed Diggs, it looks like a very uplifting movie. I'll talk about it when it's on the charts... and I think I'm actually going to see the movie so I'm sure I'll have a review. 9) Only The Brave I've talked about this a few times... Firemen- Miles Teller... it sounds diff

Waiting for Exciting Things on My Birthday.

Sooo I thought this would be an interesting thing to post... maybe it isn't lol... idk but here it is anyway... Since I talked about the excitements of my 21st birthday... I thought I would tell you about the times when I had to do something kind of boring before the fun stuff! So the weekend before my 15th birthday I had a Saturday detention. I know right? I had just gotten to high school- it was when Camera Phones were new and they didn't allow them at school... so they took it away for a month and gave me a Saturday Detention because I forgot to turn the ringer off and someone called in class. Side Note: I've been getting wrong number calls for as long as I've had this phone... so it wasn't even a right number. And Me being the Arrested Development obsessed teen that I was- my ringtone was The Final Countdown... so of corse everyone could hear it and everyone that knew me pretty well knew it was me. And my parents didn't really care that I got a Saturday.

Favorite Things of The Week 11/3/17

Saturday 10/28/17  Saturday was super fun! I posted my first vlog on my youtube channel and that was pretty awesome... and I went shopping at the Outlets and then at night I went to dinner with my parents and then out for some Halloween Fun with my friends! Soooo yeah at the Outlets I went to Francesca's and I got a belt and a necklace that I wore with my halloween costume later... I've mentioned before I'm not all that into costumes, but I love using what I have and coming up with something... and I feel like this is my favorite version of that. It just looked so witchy and so good. The hat is from Wallgreens, the belt and the necklace are from Francesca's... I got the ring from Hot Topic a few years ago and I have skull earrings that I got at a craft show. The blue Lipstick is Too Faced's Who's Zoomin Who... which lasted pretty well throughout the night! It drifted a little outside the lines... but not too badly. The dress is from Old Navy also... an

The Weekly Pop 11/4/17

Now it's time for the weekly pop. News  The latest Hollywood Sexual Assault allegation is against actor Kevin Spacey... who was one of my favorite actors until now sadly. Anthony Rapp accused him of sexual assault while Spacey was very drunk and 26 and Rapp was only 14. Spacey has since come out of the closet. Spacey claims not to remember the incident and says he was confused at the time and will now live his life as a gay man. Many are criticizing the timing of Spacey's coming out because... well it seems like he's using it as an excuse and there is no excuse for sexually harassing or assaulting a 14 year old. Or anyone for that matter. Humans are not sexual objects and there's no excuse for treating anyone as less than a human. It makes me mad. Netflix has stopped production of the final season of House of Cards amidst these allegations. I believe there was a spinoff in the works that they are still working on... I'm not sure if I believe that... but if Net

10 Things! 11/3/17

I have no idea what else to post... so we're just going to run with this idea and see what happens. 1) My niece was CRACKING UP at me last night because I said her dad took a picture of us and went "Click" and I did the fake camera motion like Alec Baldwin's character on friends. It's so funny to just hear a baby laugh... one of my favorite things ever. 2) My dog barks very loud and he's right in my ear now... so that kind of sucks. 3) My favorite thing to watch first around Christmas is Merry Christmas Charlie Brown... I sort of want to watch it early this year... but I also really like Charlie Brown Thanksgiving... so I should watch that first... I don't want to watch them together... so I don't know what to do. Maybe I'll watch Love Actually or something... idk. I don't want to ruin my Christmas. Lol. 4) Holiday flavors of Starbucks! Yes those are awesome and the cups are really fun. 5) I'm wearing green today... and I like gre

Throwback Thursday: La La Land (SPOILER HEAVY!)

So I wanted to have my American Horror Story Throwbacks written before Halloween... but that didn't happen. It's hard to watch AHS like that lol. Anyway... here's my review on La La Land which is a movie that came out some time ago and I watched it just in September I think? Maybe October? I thought this movie was really good. It was kind of hard to watch because it was sad. I didn't want to see them break up... I actually started watching this movie one day and then didn't finish it until quite a few days later because I didn't want them to break up... and I could see the movie was going that way and it made me sad. Lol. I loved the chemistry between Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. They both sing really well too... Gosling isn't the best singer- but he's so good looking and he's just got swagger and is right for the part. Emma Stone is pretty amazing... she definitely deserved the Oscar that she won... she's been fantastic in every role I'v

Hump Day Update 11/1/17

What I'm Watching  The Superstore Halloween episode was sooooo funny! I was super excited! All the other Halloween Sitcoms were pretty amazing too. Great News would be my second favorite... I'm excited for what's going on on The Good Place... I think Will and Grace is getting better. All the ABC shows were great... It's just been an exciting Halloween season with some good tv. I actually watched Dancing With The Stars on Halloween... everyone was really great- at least I thought they were. There was a double elimination- but I thought Vanessa did a really good job. Nikki was good too... sorry if you didn't watch it yet! The Phantom of The Opera group dance was amazing, the other group dance was so much fun too. I like Jordan Fisher a lot... I'm rooting for him. Drew Scott is pretty good and I like Frankie Muniz a lot.  I just thought they were all fun to watch and good. I watched Hocus Pocus 2 times- they had an all day marathon on Halloween... so that was
