The Politician Season 2 Review

I can't believe I forgot to review this! I was so excited to talk about it because it's so good and so funny and then... reviewing it just kind of escaped me.

But anyway this season focuses on Payton Hobart's underdog race where he runs against the New York State Senator Dede Standish that has held the seat for many years... but is also secretly in a throuple with her husband and another man. Bette Midler plays her right hand woman Hadassah Gold and... everything that happens is just so funny. They were really what the show needed to make it super funny and kind of elevate it.

Gwenyth Paltrow also had a really different role this season than just Payton's mom that was a bored housewife that was having an affair with a woman. Now we see she's bored with everything and running for office as well and... she's just really funny and fun to watch. Her whole story isn't really in the series a lot... but it definitely did something for the series that made it really funny.

A lot of questions that weren't really answered in the first season were answered in this season too... like Payton not looking back at Alice in the hallway and we get to see what happened with Infinity and Astrid... which was great. We also saw McAffe have a really funny mental breakdown because she had sort of a toxic friendship with James and Skye.

Overall... just a really funny season- maybe the funniest Netflix show in a while.

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
