Asbury Kitchen by David Burke Review!!!

So I finally got to go to David Burke's pop up restaurant in Asbury Park. I've been to Drifthouse which is another David Burke Restaurant so I sort of knew what to expect from the meal... and it did not disappoint!

Appetizer

I didn't get a picture of this or dessert- but I do have another picture of the appetizer from when I ate at Drifthouse- but it is Maple Bacon on a clothesline. This is a really delicious Candied Bacon presented in a fun way! It was a little burnt today though and my boyfriend was a bit disappointed.

Entrees

So my entree was the Open Faced Soft Shell- but instead of Soft Shell Crab they had Shrimp Tempura. So it was a Shrimp Tempura over an Avocado toast and heirloom tomatoes. It was really good! A little messy to eat... but I still really liked it! The avocado's were really fresh and delicious and I liked it a lot!

My Boyfriend got the Skirt Steak which was AWESOME! It had a pesto sauce with it and I think it had some sort of fries but... it was really good. I had just a taste- I love the steak at Drifthouse and I kind of wished I had gotten this but... idk I thought the shrimp would be better in the heat.

Ohhh and we got the Hipster Fries- which I thought I had before- but I'm not sure I did and they were totally delicious! I Loved them!

Dessert

My Boyfriend had the Salt Water Taffy Sundae- which I tasted a bit of and it was amazing. He thought there was too much stuff in it because it had cotton candy and jelly beans and it was a bit odd tasting I guess... but the taffy flavor of the ice cream was pretty amazing.

I had a Waffle Chocolate Sundae. It was okay- chocolate waffle, chocolate Ice Cream, Chocolate syrup. Really good but... I wouldn't get it again. It's not all that special!

And that is everything!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
