The Invisible Man Review

This is the best non cartoon movie of the year... I wrote that it was the best movie of the year but that was before Onward... but it was a great movie. I would give it 4 stars I think. I'm not sure if this is a movie everyone would enjoy- I know a lot of people can't really do horror movies and this movie is about kind of a heavy subject matter that might be hard for people to watch. It is about Domestic Abuse and even though it's presented in a fantastical way- it is still a hard thing to watch physical and emotional abuse quite like this. And it is a really serious problem that a lot of women face... and while I did see the trailer and that made it very obvious... but if you just saw the TV commercials for it or heard that there was an Invisible Man reboot coming out- I don't think it's quite as obvious that it's about domestic abuse.

This movie was actually scary! I'm not someone that gets easily scared by movies... but this one creeped me out a bit. It really was not predictable either. I knew that in the end we would see Cecelia get a satisfying ending because... you really NEED her to in order for this movie to be good. If she didn't get out of this situation... it wouldn't have been as good in my opinion. I thought they were maybe going to leave it open ended... which I guess they did to an extent but... without too many spoilers I liked the ending and I liked the movie.

There was one moment in this movie where it seemed like a comic relief scene where everything was going to be okay and Cecelia was maybe starting to get at least pieces of the life that her ex Adrian had taken away from her... and then he shows up unexpectedly and TOTALLY sets the movie in a different direction that I really enjoyed. It was scary- I gasped and the rest of the theater probably will too... I saw it in Dolby- which I will probably do a separate review on Dolby theaters cause... they're totally amazing! But... we really couldn't hear anything other than the movie and it wasn't full... but we gasped and idk if anyone else did! Lol.

Anyway after that moment happened the whole rest of the movie was just really exciting and amazing... kind of the edge of your seat type of thing! Totally great!

So yeah. Great movie... would definitely watch it again and again. It was really fun and I'd watch more movies if they made more of them too. I really liked this one a lot. Elizabeth Moss did a fantastic job and it was just really good overall!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
