How Do You Sleep At Night? Bedtime Favorites!

This is a post I've thought about doing for a while and now I'm doing it! Here are some of my favorite things to help me get to sleep or to do around bedtime and some honorable mentions.

Let's talk about my #1 bedtime investment... the Weighted Blanket! I got this from Target's Room Essentials line- it was on sale on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and I was so happy I ended up getting this! I think mine is 12 pounds and it has a removable cover- which is good but I'm afraid to actually remove it. I just find this so relaxing. I get a really nice, deep sleep whenever I use this- it helps me fall asleep and stay asleep. Plus it helps soothe aches and pains that I have because I work on my feet often. It really really helps.

I also have a Mypillow, which I also LOVE. This pillow always holds its shape, it's very comfortable... it does keep cool and I just think it works really well. My mom bought one for herself and then she got the whole family hooked on these. We all really like them.

Another favorite of mine that is my go to gift when someone is moving into a new place... or just a great gift idea in general are the sherpa blankets from Costco. My mom always gets these because they're just really soft and nice. When my one friend moved into an apartment with her now husband I was like "Ohh I should get her this blanket" and then they fought over the blanket so I ended up getting him one for his birthday too lol. They are just so cozy and perfect. They do have sherpa blankets other places if you aren't a costco member... I hear Wallmart and Target have good ones too... but Costco is where I first saw them and I really like them.

My favorite pajamas are my Cuddle Duds- specifically the kind with the thumb holes. My room gets very very cold in the winter and sometimes even in the spring and fall... so I like having thumb holes as like a secret glove. My mom got me a cuddle dud top and bottom for christmas along with a velour hoodie with thumb holes that I love and some slippers that I also really like. They have grippies at the bottom too... which I love because I have hardwood floors and grippies help with that lol.

Another favorite bedtime sock are from the brand Spyder. These have a fleece lining to them that makes them very comfy and they feel like slippers and socks in one. They're so warm and nice and I just really like them. I'm pretty much always wearing one of these in the house... and I should actually probably get one of them on right now... lol.

Sometimes when I'm asleep I don't know what to do with my arms... and I will actually cuddle a stuffed animal if I just can't get my arms comfy. My boyfriend got me a Sloth holding Pusheen for Christmas a few years ago and that's usually what I end up cuddling. It's weird for someone that's 28 to do I guess... but it helps.

I also like having a full bottle of water near me and I'll drink that during the night because I get kind of a dry throat. Sometimes I'll drink a whole bottle before bed and that helps but sometimes I just like having it there to drink if I get hot or if I feel like I need water.

Now for the honorable mentions! If I really can't sleep at all I listen to The Honest Guys. They have a youtube channel and a few albums dedicated to meditation and some meditation to help you sleep. I forget how exactly I found them... I think I was just looking for some rain or some noises to listen to in the backround while writing something... and then I found one of their meditation videos for headaches and it helped me a lot so sometimes I'll do that if I need to calm down or be creative.

And I also really like the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy line. I have some of their lotions that I'll use around my neck if I'm stressed or I need to sleep or something. Usually I use the Sleep Lavender one to help me sleep but if I have a headache I like the Stress Relief one and I use the Comfort one sometimes too. They're all really good. Not something I always use... but I probably should more.

Anywyay I hope you guys like this! Let me know how you sleep at night and some of your favorites! I'll see you for a Target Book Haul Tomorrow!

Bye!
-Shannon

It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea...

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...
