John Wick Chapter 1 Review

Ok guys... I joked about doing this review for a while... If you've ever read some of my other blogs called "Chart Chats" where I talk about the top 10 movie charts every once and a while there was an action movie I knew NOTHING about that would just stay on the charts for weeks and I would always joke that I was "thrilled" to see them on the charts again... which was very sarcastic because of corse I wasn't. But anyhow flash forward to a few years later, I have a new man in my life that had also never seen John Wick but he informed me that it was kind of about dogs. AND I LOVE DOGS and he does too so when we saw it was on sale on Target for Black Friday... we got all the movies! So I've seen them all now and I will have reviews on all of them!

So if you didn't know the plot of the movie John Wick is a retired assassin who retires to get married but then his wife unfortunately passes away from Cancer. Before she passes away she gets him a puppy so that he doesn't have to grieve alone. Then John Wick goes to a gas station and some guys ask him how much money he wants for his car. He says it's not for sale and drives back home. The guys find out where he lives and they break into his house, kill his dog and steal the car. The guys then goes to his father... who informs him who John Wick is and lets him know he should be afraid. And John Wick goes out of retirement to avenge his dog.

I would compare John Wick to another one of my favorite characters- Jesse Pinkman. Even though both are criminals- they're both people you root for and you want the best for them. Plus... is it really violence if it is against dog killers? It's totally justified.

This was also deeper than most action movies. In just a few scenes you learn more about who John Wick is than you do compared to some characters in several movies. The plot also keeps getting thicker towards the end of the movie and... just a lot happens and it's really really cool.

There are also SO MANY recognizable faces in this movie. Just about every character my boyfriend and I were like "Oh he was on Game of Thrones!" That girl is on Blue Bloods!" "There's the guy from the Mayhem Commercials!" "That's Willem Dafoe!" SO MANY people... and they were all really well cast.

I don't want to say too much more about this movie because I think it would ruin some of the things I love about it... but I will say that the villains of the movie were very dumb- but not so dumb that John Wick has an easy time. He's lost so much already and they've taken more from him and... it's just interesting to see how John Wick handles it.

The world is very interesting. For one John Wick lives in New Jersey and he pumps his own gas! Totally would never happen- it is illegal for us to pump our gas in the Garden State lol. But that's just the first difference- in the second and third movie... you get a lot more about the rest of the world.

Bye!

Blogmas Day 12: The 12 Days of Christmas Gift Guide

So I thought it would be fun to do a gift guide that every gift corresponds with the price. So like for the first day of Christmas $1 gift that would be good and then up from there. These would be good stocking stutterers and things I just think are unique. $1- Solar Powered Dancers!  My mom loves getting the little dancing solar powered people. We get most of ours from Dollar tree... other dollar stores have them too, they're super cute and fun for $1. Its good to put near any plants that you have that way you know they're getting sunlight. It's a good gift. $2- Mini Coloring Book!  At 5 Below they had some mini travel sized coloring books for $2. I thought these were pretty cool. I got the Botanical one I believe. Really cute and fun! I would recommend! $3-   Ceramic Truck w/ Christmas Tree  I saw this at the Target Dollar Spot and I thought it was cute and would probably make a great gift. If you know someone who has a truck or likes the sort of "rustic C...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...

It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea...
