Chart Chat 10/31/17

Happy Halloween! Here we go with the Chart Chat... which I'm moving to Tuesday for the next few weeks! 10) It- Surprised this is on the bottom of the charts... but it still seems to be going strong for halloween! I didn't see Pennywise when I went out... I saw a couple of Twisty's though... which is strange. One Bar had a drawing of Pennywise on the menu... but I didn't see anyone dressed up as Pennywise. Just as well... that's a little too scary! 9) Suburbicon- This looks good... but I'm not too fond of Matt Damon or George Clooney right now... who knows though- they are good actors... but I can't see how something has been going on for years and they are "so shocked" about it... that's just me... but you know... this sucks lol. This hasn't gotten great reviews from what I've heard- so I think I'd rather hold out for Murder on the Orient Express for my Murder Mystery needs... but this looks good. 8) The Foreigner- I talked ab

The Various Stories of my 21st Birthday

I didn't drink on my actual 21st birthday. I was the first of my friends to turn 21... so that's kind of a lonely thing. It was also a weeknight... again not fun... and I didn't really have many friends in college. All of my really good friends are from high school. I was seeing someone at the time that was over 21... and that's kind of what I'll get to here... lol. I don't exactly remember what he texted... I wanted to go out with him... I think he wanted to take me out... but something got lost in translation and I thought he didn't want to go out and I was pretty pissed at him and I texted him back something kind of bitchy... and then did not hear back from him again... lol. So idk what he thought... neither one of us was trying to be a jerk... but it probably seemed that way at the time... until I reread the text and realized what he was saying and how I sounded... so that was my own fault. If that guy is reading this.... I'm sorry- that's wh

Favorite Things Of The Week! 10/27/17

So I thought I would try an updated weekly wrap up kind of combining both versions of what I've done from "The Weekly Wrap Up" before... so this is just kind of like the little moments of the week and my favorite things... maybe it's similar to what I was doing... I'm just kind of re-working it. Sunday 10.22.17 So Saturday Night I was up pretty late watching DuckTales... no shame... I'm probably going to do a review of the show pretty soon because I kind of love it. Anyway- yeah that was kind of fun... and I sort of slowly woke up that morning. I had been in the house alone with my dog all weekend and we just kind of chilled that morning... and I love chilling with my dog. He's such a gorgeous dog and he's so funny and cute and fluffy. I love him... so I was happy to just kind of watch him wake up and sleep in... even with that- I still got up and out kind of early. My aunt was in town- so she wanted to go to a local place to pick up a dinner and

Throwback Thursday: The Nightmare Before Christmas

I used to watch this movie a lot when I was little... and I've always loved the characters and the animation... but sometimes I wonder if the movie is maybe a little bit overrated... And I'm here to say: It is not! I actually think it might be a little underrated because I just had so much fun watching it. It was like 2 in the morning on my actual birthday when I decided to watch it... so maybe I was just in a really good mood or something... but I just really loved it. What a clever concept and just a fun idea for a movie... I just really liked it. I love Sally in this. She's just like a regular Teenager- but she's trying to do the right thing and tell Jack she doesn't think his Christmas is going to work out... but she has a crush on Jack and she sees how happy the Christmas thing is making him and ugh... just so complicated lol. Anyway I had watched a 107 facts on Nightmare Before Christmas Youtube video... I think before I watched this... maybe it was afte

Hump Day Update: 10/25/17

Sorry this is so late! Onto the show! This isn't a show it's a blog! What I'm Watching  American Horror Story amiright??? This show has slowly consumed my life in the past few weeks especially! I love this season... last night's episode was my favorite ever... I think. I just really liked this one for some reason. Winter is my favorite so it makes sense that an episode about her was my favorite. There was a good amount of torture, plot, and backstory... plus huge change of character for Ally... I kind of love her now... and I feel like watching in between the lines... maybe something happened to Ally that makes her more scared of everything... I'm not sure. Just re-watching old seasons... there are similarities between Ally and some other characters like Vivianne and Lana Winters... so maybe she has a reason to be scared. And she was badass when she contacted Kai... she played him! He totally wanted to show that he was more fearless than Ally was- which is why h

Not ch'yo Nachos: Recipe and Review

So over the weekend I had some chili and I wanted to make nachos... but I had no tortilla chips. I did have Ritz Crackers, so I decided to make something I like to call "Not ch'yo Nachos." My mom made the turkey chili- if you have leftover taco meat or leftover rotisserie chicken... or just leftover meat or veggies... this could work too. You are the boss of your nachos so modify as needed.  This  is roughly the same recipe my mom uses... it's from a friend of ours and over the years my mom has probably modified it and made it less spicy... but if you're looking for a chili recipe this is a darn good one! I heated up the chili first and then I melted a little bit of cheese onto some Ritz crackers. I just sliced some cheese and cut it up smaller and then put it in the microwave for about 20 seconds. This might be an extra step you don't want... but for me it really brought some extra flavor and cheeseyness. I used Colby Jack cheese if that makes a differenc

10) Kingsman: The Golden Circle- I would imagine this movie is ending it's run on the charts shortly if not by next week. I feel like there are SOOOO many great horror movies out this year that it's hard to choose this one above those movies at this time of year... but Colin Firth... so yeah. 9) American Made-  Again... I was a little surprised this never got to the top of the charts... but I'm surprised to see it on the charts for so long. I don't know too much about this movie other than Tom Cruise, Jayma Mays and the bad guy from the last year of Breaking Bad... but yeah. Again... probably wouldn't recommend this over It or Happy Death Day if you want to see a movie coming soon... but maybe this is good. 8) The Snowman- This is a horror movie that looks pretty good. Again I don't know too much about it... but I thought it looked scary and I want to see it. I'm sure reviews aren't amazing... but to me it looked interesting. 7) It- From what I und

The Weekly Pop! 10/21/17

Here it is... Weekly Pop! Sorry this is sort of becoming the bi-weekly pop but... idk life happens! News  The news about Harvey Weinstein is everywhere... several actresses and women are all coming forward saying that he sexually harassed or assaulted them. Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan, and many others have been some of the people mentioned. Recently actress Lupita Nyongo mentioned that he asked her to massage him and take her clothes off or something. Several people have pulled their movies from being made by the Weinstein Company. Lin Manuel Miranda is changing studios for the film version of In The Heights, Channing Tatum has pulled out his movie from the production company. Ben Affleck apologized for this happening in Hollywood saying "Wow, this was going on for years and I had no idea!" To which Rose McGowan replied "F*** Off Ben Affleck" and said that she told him that he grabbed McGowan inappropriately and Affleck replied "I told

Dining in NJ: A few delicious food reviews

So I thought I would just compile a few different meals I've tried lately that I haven't reviewed before...and talk about them here. Usually I do fuller reviews on these items... but I've reviewed some of these restaurants before and some of these meals... so I think I'm just going to talk about what I've tried recently and... yeah. Mr. Shrimp Mango Coconut Salmon  I think this is what I had... I kind of forget! So I'm sorry about that... it was on the specials Menu which changes quite often... but I really really liked this. I'm not a huge fan of Mango... but this was like a mango salsa and it was just super super yummy. If you ever go to Mr. Shrimp and see the Parmesan Risotto on the menu... get that. Lol. Its really yummy and I am not a fan of Parmesan Cheese.. so yeah. I like how I don't remember what exactly it was called... but I can remember just how it tastes and that is always the way with Mr. Shrimp... the tastes are really good and very

10) Victoria and Abdul-  This looks like a great movie. Judy Dench as  Queen Victoria... I guess showing her friendship with someone named Abdul-idk.I just looked it up and it said Queen Victoria. I thought it was a spinoff of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel tbh. Either way- my grandfather would have liked this movie and I want to see it to honor him. Maybe I won't see it now... but it does sound good and interesting. 9) My Little Pony: The Movie- I have a My Little Pony Toy I won in a Lularoe Giveaway thing. And my niece has a my little pony toy that she loves... so I'm sure I'll watch these someday soon... but for now- it looks cute but I probably won't see it. Surprised it's so low on the charts. 8) The Lego Ninjago Movie- I like the Lego movies and I thought this looked like the best one yet...it hasn't been the most successful one though. 7) Kingsman: The Golden Circle- This is still on the charts... I don't have much to say about it it's been

26 Random Favorites

I thought it would be fun to talk about my 26 favorite things- I'm not including people like Family and friends because then that would just be a long list and those are kind of a give-in. I will probably have people like Lady Gaga on the list though... so yeah. Lol. These are in no order... there are probably more... but yeah. It's more categories like "Favorite Pet" "Favorite TV Show" and things like that. 1- Dogs- I love dogs. Dogs are my favorite pet... I have had 2 adorable and fun malteses... dogs are just my favorites. I think that's a little different than favorite animal... so let's talk about some of my favorite animals. 2- Giraffes and Elephants- I'm not sure I could really choose one to be my favorite animal... I think I love them both. Giraffes are beautiful... Elephants are beautiful and they're so fascinating. I love the Elephants that paint pictures of elephants... they are brilliant and I love them! 3- Arrested Developm

Hump Day Update 10/11/17

What I'm Watching  So after I went out and bought just about every season of American Horror Story because it's no longer going to be available on Netflix... wouldn't you know it's all still on Netflix! So I've started watching Coven and Murder House because I can't get to my Coven DVD currently and I don't have Murder House- my sister does... so yeah. I think Coven might be my favorite to watch around Halloween. I'm excited to watch Roanoke again too... I'm trying to get to the 6th episode of each season before doing that... if that makes sense... lol. The Mayor's second episode was good... I don't think it was as amazing as the pilot... but it was good. I really like the characters and I think everyone on the show is brilliant... it just seemed a little flat and familiar last week and it can only be a show about a rapper that is a mayor for so long... soon the joke will get a little flat. Blackish was a really good episode... really w

American Horror Story Cult: Midseason update

So I feel like now is kind of the time to give the mid season update of this season of American Horror Story... so far I like this season a lot. I can't really tell till the end which is my favorite... I'm rewatching all seasons and I think I'll do an AHS awards at the end... but this season is one of the scariest to me... I'll get into everything about this...so yeah. Let's get to some theories Why We Can't Trust What We're Seeing...  We're kind of being gaslighted as an audience because we have 2 unreliable narrators. Ally is unreliable because she's mentally unstable and has hallucinations often... and Kai is unreliable because he's lying to us. He lies to the people in the Cult... and in episode 4 I believed those lies because Kai is a cult leader and they get you to believe what they're selling. Because of The Election...  Everyone is kind of using the election as an excuse... and I don't think it's really changed anythin

Chart Chat- 10.9.17

10) Battle of The Sexes- I love Emma Stone and really want to see this movie! It just looks like a good movie... I don't always like Sports movies... but I can deal with a Tennis movie lol. I kind of like tennis in movies. Maybe there will be a review of this soon! 9) Flatliners- I talked about this last week... with all the horror movies out right now- I don't think that this is one you should waste your time with. It might be more of a psychological thriller... but still- not the first pick! 8) Victoria and Abdul- My grandfather would have liked this movie and my mom wants to see it. I kind of want to see it to because 1) Who doesn't love Dame Judy Dench? 2) I miss hearing about these types of movies from my grandfather- which makes me a little more interested. 7) The Lego Ninjago Movie- I think this is the least successful Lego Movie yet. I think the original Lego Movie was on top of the charts for several weeks- same with the Lego Batman movie... I feel like this

The Weekly Pop 10.8.17

Hello and Welcome to The Weekly Pop! The news and stuff for all things Pop Culture! News  Tom Petty passed away this week at the age of 66. People know him from his band Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers... he sang songs like Free Fallen, Refuge and American Girl... He was just finishing up a tour and went into cardiac arrest right before the end of his final tour... he will be missed and his songs remembered forever (I never considered myself a big fan, but I love all of these songs and appreciate that they all came from one really talented man. I never really realized that before and I think I'll try listening to some more songs.) Hugh Heffner also died this week and Sunday Morning did a great tribute to him saying that "Icons are complicated" and while some people think of him as a "Visionary" and some people think of him as "a dirty old man" he is both. If you admire him or despise him- you aren't wrong! Some of the cast of mean girls reu

Scribbles About Food: Starbucks Maple Pecan Latte

The newest fall flavor at coffee chains: Maple Pecan! I'm not sure why it took them so long for this- but it did and Maple Pecan is here to stay... I have to say I don't like it quite as much as the PSL- but it is a nice little change from the PSL. Fair warning... I'd maybe wait a little bit to order this. It isn't bad now... but it's still pretty early on- baristas are just learning how to make this new drink. By the time I'm posting this- enough time has probably passed... but I think they just missed the mark on this the first time I ordered. They didn't put whipped cream on it and it wasn't quite sweet enough... but I added some sugar and whipped cream at home and it was delicious. The Maple Pecan flavor is pretty present... it isn't the most flavorful latte... I would compare it to the Chestnut Praline... it tastes a lot like that but with a Maple flavor instead of a caramel-y flavor. It's pretty delicious. It isn't over maple-y and

Hump Day Update 10/4/17

What I'm Watching  Regular TV:  Obviously... American Horror Story: Cult has still been a favorite. Last night's episode was one of my favorites of the series so far... I might or might not do a video recap of it... I was doing those and I really like talking about American Horror Story... but it takes a lot of time and the videos are too long and I don't get to say what I really want to say... I don't think I want to post about it here though I just like posting about it... idk. I want to do a podcast about it but I would probably just be saying things other podcasts have said... idk. I need to talk about AHS... but I just don't know where. I watched the new Must See TV on Thursday- that was exciting. Superstore was actually really really funny, I don't love that show... but this episode was great. The Good Place was great, Will and Grace was what it had to be I guess is the only way I can put it... and Great news was great. Back to last night- great ep

Scribbles About TV: Me, Myself and I Review

I was really excited for this show. The concept just seemed really unique to me and I was hoping they would be able to capture it in a really good way that was funny and heartfelt and I wanted the 3 storylines to be different- but to still connect nicely... and this was really perfect for that. So this show goes through the life of Alex Riley at 3 crucial points in his life. The Past, which shows Alex as a kid at a new school that is very nervous to start out. He invents things and he's a huge basketball fan... but for the Bulls, and he moved to California with his new Stepdad and Step Brother- who were both lakers fans... so he's nervous and he just wants to fit in. The Present shows 40 year old Alex who just found his wife cheating on him... gets a divorce and split custody of his daughter. He lives in someone's garage and his ex is planning on getting married and moving far away with their daughter. Alex wants to prove to his ex that he can do something to keep his d

Chart Chat- Clowns back on top? And other stuff (October 2nd 2017)

Alright... you can probably tell what the number 1 movie is already... but let's start with 10 anyway because who doesn't love a countdown? 10) Mother!- Probably the end of it's week on the charts... one of the worst reviewed movies of the year which is also said to be one of the most disturbing movies of the year... and while people are comparing it to Rosemary's Baby... I think it's a lot different than that and people aren't liking it very much... so if you want to catch Mother! Catch it soon in theaters... but something's telling me you can skip this one. It reminded me a bit of a couple of skits in the movie The Holidays- which was an anthology of horror movies- they had a Mother's Day story and I forget what exactly happened... but I believe it was similar... and they had a St. Patrick's Day sketch that was a little more humorous... those come to mind- I did a review on that a while ago. Wow... I reviewed this over a year ago!  here  is the l
