Scribbles About Life: The Mildly Amusing Story From The Eye Doctor

So in January I went to the eye doctors to pick up glasses and some mild hilarity ensued. I mentioned this in a weekly wrap up back in January... and I figured I'd save the story till May because why not! I'm giving myself the month of May off

Anyway so picking up glasses that you've already paid for doesn't take a very long time usually... but there was this teenage boy in front of us taking FOREVER to decide what glasses he wants. This never happens at my eye doctors because the woman working at the glasses counter is the absolute best! She looks at you, gets an idea of what you like and picks out the pair you will fall in love with on the first try. She's super amazing with that... and I'm indecisive on things... especially things I'm going to wear on my face... but she just gets peoples styles and chooses the perfect pair right away.

But yeah this kid... btw a teenage boy who was probably going to lose that pair of glasses a week after getting them... Not to be judgmental or anything... but you could kind of tell he wasn't the type of guy to wear glasses. He had on shorts and a sports Jersey (on a cold day in January) and he was actually saying that he does usually prefer to wear contacts... so that was just kind of an issue. There isn't anything wrong with this... it makes sense to take your time picking something out... its totally reasonable to not want to wear glasses when you have contacts... you probably shouldn't wear shorts and a Sports Jersey in January in New Jersey... but you know. Whatever. It's just annoying that when you're the person thats going to be in and out with no issues... you're behind someone with lots of issues that is not just going in and out.

Btw... I'm sure he went with the first pair she picked... but anyway.

Then when my mom and I were in the waiting area, there was another man that was waiting in the waiting area before we got in. And he looked half asleep... normal enough. Then his phone rang and the ringtone was the Godfather theme song. Which I'm sure is common... but we both thought it was really really funny. We love The Godfather... but you know... its funny right? Not a ringtone you hear every day. And kind of any ringtone thats a song can be pretty funny. My phone rang in class in high school one day and it was The Final Countdown. So that's kind of funny to begin with... and we were both trying to kind of look at each other... but we knew we would crack up laughing if we looked at each other so we tried to avoid that.

Then after the Annoying guy taking his time left... we were called up. And the lady knows us so she knew we weren't going to take a long time, so she called us up next. So I was going up and then my mom asked The Godfather if he was up next because she didn't want to be rude. The Godfather just gave her this blank stare and she thought he was really pissed off... lol! And meanwhile I got up, was holding back when I saw my mom talking to that guy and then the Glasses Woman just said "Yeah, come on over!" So I just said "Come on we're next!" And made her go over... so its kind of a "You Snooze you lose" type of deal. Lol.

And yeah... we had been waiting for longer than we took to get the glasses and get out... and she didn't even call The Godfather up after us. So that was kind of funny.

So yeah... that was my mildly amusing eye doctor story. I hope you guys were mildly amused by that!

Byeeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
