Stuff That Happened This Week (6/29/14-7/5/14)

Note: This is a Scribbles about news from Last Year that I never ended up posting... but I saved it, so I thought why not post it now. This news is outdated... but I had nothing to post today and I thought since this was from last year in this same week... why not post it now.  1) Yahoo picks up Community for Season 6- Guess we will be getting 6 seasons and probably a movie after all! I was really happy about this news obviously. I think its funny that its on Yahoo because I always make fun of my sister for using Yahoo instead of google... but because of this I'm probably going to be paying a little bit more attention to yahoo also. I realize this is a google blog and I'm not going to give up google or anything... but I'll watch Community for SURE! Lol. I'm excited about this. I hope Kugler, Mitch Hurwitz's character returns and yeah. I love it! 2) Better Call Saul has a different timeline than expected- So apparently Better Call Saul will not just be about how

Scribbles About Food: Cinnamon Bun Frappuccino+ Overall Ranking?

So last but not least... the Cinnamon Bun Frap. This one when I read it I was most excited about this possibly... but at the same time... I didn't know if I'd like it best, so I made sure to save this one for last. And this did not disappoint! I thought this was tasty. It was very cinnamon-y a little breakfast-y but... it was yummy.  It might have just been vanilla bean with cinnamon... I feel like there was a lot to this frap. I'm not really sure. It was good. It tasted just like a cinnamon bun! It was pretty amazing. It wasn't like it was the best Cinnamon Bun ever or anything... but it was good. My sister's fiancee makes really good cinnamon buns, so those have kind of ruined all other cinnamon buns to me. I still like the Pillsbury ones... these maybe weren't as good as the pillsbury... but still, this is something you can drink and order at starbucks!  So is this better than Cool Ranch Doritos... Hell yeah! I really loved this, I think this is s

Scribbles About Food: Caramel Cocoa Cluster Frap

I know in my last scribbles about food I mentioned Cotton Candy is a top contender... this is another top contender in my book. This is the most vague and mysterious of all the fraps... it tastes mostly like a caramel frap... but the cocoa cluster makes me like it a lot too. Its really good, although not that different... but in a good way unlike the Cupcake Frap... which I talked my friend out of ordering when I was with her... lol. So this kind of tasted like a Caramel Frap... but there was a little extra. It was a lot smoother than the other fraps I would say and something about the familiarity of the Caramel Frap taste of it, mixed with the exciting "cocoa cluster" of it and the mysterious name just kind of adds to the magicalness of this flavor. Its kind of like a twist on the caramel frap... which I think works really well because the Caramel Frap is the OG. Its amazing, everyone likes it and for good reason. It actually tastes like coffee with just a little more to

Scribbles About News: Marriage Equality for all!

So I wasn't going to do a Scribbles About News this week because not very much happened... Hannibal got cancelled... thats about it. But something big just happened! And that is that the fact that it was declared that states no longer have the constitutional right to ban gay marriage! Marriage is equal for all! And that just makes me happy. Its awful that it took us this long, but its nice that everyone I know can marry anyone they want. And that makes me happy. Its nice to see people in love, and it doesn't matter who they love... but why dismiss that love? Let's let that love grow and live. I think thats all I want to say about that... lol. I'm just happy that in the midst of all these terrible things going on in the world, there's this little bit of love that is actually a huge thing. Its incredible. So that's it pretty much. Really short post, but I just wanted to say something from the heart and that's how I really feel about it all. Keep the

Scribbles about TV: Another Period Review

If you're like me you probably heard about this show and were like... Okay. Natasha Leggereo... Thats good. Riki Lindhome, also good... Drunk History people have something to do with it alright. Keeping Up With The Kardashians meets Downton Abby... you really didn't need to sell me that much with this lol. It sounded amazing is what I'm trying to say. So, if you haven't heard, this is the new comedy on Comedy Central created by Natasha Leggereo, who is very funny and was in the Franco Roast and the Bieber Roast and Riki Lindhome who is half of the Comedy Folk band duo Garfunkel and Oats (she is Garfunkel). Its basically about these sisters who are trying to become famous. Its done like Parks and Rec or The Office where they have the talking heads. They don't address the fact that a TV show is being made of them... of corse because there was no tv back then... but its so funny. Riki Lindhome just says the stupidest things in the talking heads and its just amazin

Scribbles About Food: Cotton Candy Frappuccino+ My Thoughts on the Mini Frap

Okay now I've actually tried all the fraps and... this is definitely one of my favorite... I'll let you know in my final Scribbles About Food which one of these wins it for me... Idk if I've even decided yet... but this is a top contender for sure. So this I think has always been a thing on the secret starbucks menu... but now its one of their LTD flavors and it tastes awesome. I believe all it is is a Vanilla Bean with Raspberry Syrup... it tastes like a cotton candy and it is awesome. I think even though it tastes quite a bit like cotton candy, the raspberry is quite present. Like its noticeable that there is raspberry in this frap. Its really good. I happen to like Raspberry a lot and I feel like the flavor is nice and summery and it still has a cotton candy vibe to it... I'm pretty impressed. This isn't something that you can just down a grande of... you need to sip it and keep it for a while. Its wayyy too sweet to just have all at once, you'll probab

Scribbles About Songs: What Songs Do I Currently Like?

So I did this a while ago... and I'm running out of things to scribble about... lol. Still have yet to watch Aquarius! I know I really want to! But yeah. Anywhere there are some songs I've been liking... so I thought... why not! Talkin Bodies by Tove Lo- This is a bit of an older one, but I still really find it catchy. I really like Tove Lo. I think she's very talented. I didn't know that this was Tove Lo when I first heard it so that kind of shows how good of a song it is. Its quite catchy. I really like it. Fight Song by Rachel Platten- This is really good! I kind of thought it was Taylor Swift at first, but it isn't, so I think she's going to be the next Taylor. I was kind of excited when this song came out cause I knew it was going to be big and I know Rachel Platten is going places and I feel like I discovered her... like I discovered Lady Gaga. Lol. Good song! Jackie and Wilson by Hozier- This isn't one I've been hearing that much on mainstre

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different

Scribbles About TV: A Deadly Adoption Review

So before I get into the review of the best movie ever made... let me just tell the story of it. On April 1st, 2015 it was announced that Will Ferrell and Kristin Wiig made a lifetime movie together. And it was kind of like "what? Is this real? Is this April Fool's? What is this?" And the next day it was said that Ferrell was upset that it was being released and the project was scrapped. Which made no sense A) Lifetime has control over the movie, not Will Ferrell B) Even if its low budget, its unlikely that they completed something that wouldn't be released. Especially with such high profile celebrities. So either this didn't exist, or we would be seeing it soon. And last month there were some posters spotted for it, a trailer was released and everyone was excited... but still confused. It looked quite dramatic from the previews... but it has to be a comedy right? What kind of lifetime movie is this. It's just that. This is 100% a comedy... but its also a li

Scribbles About News: Mid June 2015

1) Kristin Stewart's Mom confirms (and supports) actresses new relationship with girlfriend Alicia Cargile- So in a recent interview Stewart's mom said that she thought her daughter's new girlfriend was "a lovely girl" and she totally supports Kristin's relationship with her. It wasn't really a big deal. Idk if its that shocking that Kristin Stewart is bisexual... makes sense to me. Whats even less shocking is that Alicia is her personal assistant, and Stewart is kind of known for workplace relationships... lets not forget Twilight and Snow White and The Huntsman... Just kidding. Let's forget those, that was an embarrassing scandal in Kristin's life... that she got in trouble for more than she should have... she should have been in trouble because those movies were terrible! But thats beside the point lol. Point is she's happy and her mom is cool with it and thats good! 2) Did Bachelorette contestant leak who got the final rose?- Some Bache

Scribbles About Life: A day in the life of Shannon

So today, I woke up around 6:45, my dog scratched on my door, I laid down with him for a little bit. I watched the news... I ranted a bit about the media's coverage of the recent shooting in South Carolina in the church. When they focus on the shooter and not the victim... that encourages other people to do shootings. If they focus on the victims its more like "ohh there are good innocent people in the world that get harmed and killed for no reason. Lets keep everyone safe." But... no. Its pretty terrible. I stayed up for a little bit and pet my dog... he's such a good dog. I love having a dog. Its just so nice to wake up and then see a dog there and he's soft and cute and loves you. Get a dog guys! Or whatever animal you like! They're awesome. Lol. And I went back to my room for a little after that and went back to bed. I woke up a little later, had lunch... didn't do much exciting. Watched some youtube ate a Turkey Sandwich. Didn't want to eat an

Scribbles About Food: Cupcake Frappuccino

Heyyy guys! Halfway done with tryin these fraps! This is one of the ones I was more excited about... did it deliver? Welll... This one I was the least impressed with because... it tasted exactly like their Birthday Cake Frap... but it wasn't quite as flavorful. It was just basically a vanilla bean... so of all these so far, this is the most boring. I felt like with the other flavors I've tried, they were doing something wayyy different. The Red Velvet was like a really chocolatey frap, but it got the flavor down RIGHT! The Lemon Bar was 100% on the flavor and it tasted really really good and so so different than any frozen coffee drink I've tried so far.  So those two were really special and this one... is less special. And I know I said it tastes pretty much exactly like the Birthday Cake, but I'm also saying I don't really like it when I really liked the Birthday Cake... well... yeah. Its half cause the birthday cake was limited edition, so that made it real

Scribbles About TV: Orange Is The New Black Season 3 Review **Spoilers**

So I just finished watching season 3 of Orange Is The New Black... and I liked it! A lot! There were some problems, which I will get into... but for the most part, I thought this was a good season that probably described prison life a little more accurately than in previous seasons. I'm going to start off by talking about Larry, because that was the first big difference that I noticed. I'm team Larry, I know thats an unpopular opinion, but I love Jason Biggs and Larry really is/was the perfect boyfriend. Piper just really messed things up with him. I think Polly reminded him most of Piper and thats why he felt like he had to sleep with her... I think it was great that he proposed to her right before going to prison! I can understand that he didn't forgive Piper for sleeping with Alex! It makes sense! So despite me liking him a lot... I still felt a little relieved that he wasn't on this season. I'm not crazy about love triangles on tv shows in general... so the

It List: June 2015

I feel like I'm going to have a lot here... but here we go! 1) Donut Shoppe Nutty Caramel k cups- I've been loving this flavor from my Keurig this month. It tastes really good hot, but its also the best k cup I've made iced so far! Its really sweet and it has that nutty flavor to it that just makes it so different. The caramel is also really amazing in this flavor too. I've been looking forward to waking up more because of these. Especially after trying them iced! 2) Christina Kober Fortune Cookie Necklace- So my sister got my graduation present from this designer Christina Kober and its a fortune cookie with the quote "Stay Weird. Stay Different" from Graham Moore on it. I love this quote and I love the necklace in general. I find it inspirational because I do want to be a screenwriter/ writer and he won the oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. And the words are universally inspirational anyway. I like being weird and different and this necklace is just ver

Life Scribble- Golden Globes Night (1/12/14)

So I just did something like this, where I write something but I won't post it until later when I have nothing to write... but this one will be a little bit different because its a bit more meaningful and I'm likely to post this first. Today at work I signed 3 people up for our store's credit card, which is good for the store and we were having some contests so "I won major awards" for it. Meaning I won an iced coffee, a hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works and some candy... and that was super awesome and it seemed like that would be the most exciting award I would ever get for work.  Then I watched the Golden Globes. I was just kind of watching for Amy Poehler and Tina Fey who were hosting... I don't usually pay attention to award shows like that because no one I ever like wins. Parks and Rec has never won an emmy for anything I don't think. Or a Golden Globe. It usually always go to 30 Rock (which is no longer on) and Modern Family (which has

Scribbles About Food: Red Velvet Frappuccino

This is turning into a Starbucks blog now. Lol. But I need to try all the flavors! So the second of the new flavors that I decided to try was the Red Velvet. This tastes wayyyyy different than I expected it to, whereas with the Lemon Bar, it tasted exactly how I thought it would.  I'm used to red velvet kind of being like Vanilla Cake with Red Dye in it... thats pretty much what most "red velvet cakes" are. There are few exceptions to this (broad street dough co... I'm lookin at you! They have the best Red Velvet Donuts!) This one tastes... very VERY chocolatey. Its almost like a mocha with oreos in it. Really good, but very strong. I don't think the typical frap fan would necessarily like this one because it is actually like coffee.  The frap I would compare this most to is the one that they used to have with the chocolate and the oreos... can't think of the name of it. Mocha Cookie Crumble! This is like a stronger version of the Mocha Cookie Crumb

Scribbles About News: 6/ 11/ 15

1) Zoe Saldana's husband takes her last name - This was pretty cool news. Apparently Zoe Saldana's husband Marco Perego took the Saldana name instead of carrying on his legacy. Why? Because you don't lose your legacy by taking a partners last name! He said it on their facebook page as a message to men that they can also take their partner's last name if they feel comfortable with it. Honestly, today there is a lot of pressure for women to take a last name or not take a last name also. I've been for it and against it at times... but ultimately, you are building a new legacy... its not really about you individually anymore. I think its more about signifying that you are one family unit. I really like my last name, its Kahermanes, its long and hard to pronounce and its pretty rare even in Greece. It means Martyred God... which is kind of cool and deep and I don't even understand it lol... so I don't think I'll ever give it up... likely I'll keep it an

Scribbles About Food: New Starbucks Lemon Bar Frap!

Heyyy guys! Exciting news: Starbucks released 6 new Frappucinos and I'm going to have to try them all... but the one that stuck out to me was the Lemon Bar Frap! It seemed the most different to me and I was excited to give this one a try! So my Starbucks is cooler than yours... lol. No but the Barristas are super nice and really good an mine added extra lemonade... so the one I got had a ton of flavor to it! Also she added graham crackers on top, they didn't have the caramel sugar that was supposed to be on top and the graham cracker made it better in my opinion anyway... When I first tasted it it tasted like straight up Lemon meringue pie. It was so amazing! The lemon flavor was really good and it tasted pretty much like I expected it to taste. Which is something like Chick Fil A's Lemon Meringue Pie. I no longer support Chick Fil A... but this was the first experience I had ever had with Lemon Meringue Pie and it was quite tasty. So all lemon Meringue Pies have since

Scribbles About TV: Grace and Frankie Review

So I watched Grace and Frankie and... I liked it... but I don't really know if its something I can bingewatch... I don't want to not continue watching it, and I realize I'm probably not exactly the Target audience... but I have a few thoughts. First off Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda are both sooo soo funny in it! They are amazing! They have great chemistry together, they play off of each other really well and they are the stars of the show and the reason I will continue watching it even if I don't totally think its a binge-watch show. I'm most excited to see how their characters will grow and their friendship growing because their husbands left them. Ohh if you didn't know what it was about Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin just find out that their husbands have been having an affair with each other for 20 years and they leave them. So Grace (fonda) and Frankie (tomlin) both move to the beach house that they share... but not together on purpose. These episodes are all

This Week In Geek: Nerdy News 2- 6/8/15

So I did this last week... and it was fun... and some more nerdy things are happening... so instead of another Scribbles About News, we're changing the format again a bit! Cool. 1) More Arrested Development to be released in 2016- This is just about the most exciting news since the last time Arrested Development made a comeback! Lol. I know the 4th season got mixed reviews... but I was thinking about it recently and I really think it was done well. Not many shows can actually come back after 10 years and change so much. Gob's story got so brilliant and dark but it was still really funny... Gob was kind of the Goofball character, but in season 4, he really went dark... and it was sooooo funny! It was pretty amazing. I thought that alone was brilliant. And everything else they did was pretty brilliant and very dark also. It was just good. I was a fan. 2) The Big Bang Theory characters to be turned into Legos- I'm surprised this doesn't already exist to be honest. It s

Scribbles About (Ear) Movies: Blacklist Table Read of The Other Side

So I've mentioned one of my new favorite podcasts before. Its called Blacklist Table Reads. They do readings of the best screenplays that still have not been made into movies. I loved their first read, Balls Out, it was a really great comedy. This one is a drama. I'm not super into dramas, but this one is an interesting subject that is pretty cool. It isn't necessarily something I would have watched myself had it been made into a regular movie. Like, not something I would have chosen to go to the theater and see or take the time to watch on tv... but thats what I like about this podcast. It forces you to step out of your comfort zone and listen to different movies. This movie is about the difference between Hasidic Jewish community in Brooklyn and the Hipster community in Brooklyn. The writer of this script (they do very interesting interviews with the writers every movie) mentioned that she used to live in Israel for 2 years, and then she moved to Williamsburg Brooklyn w

Scribbles About TV: The Whispers Review

So I was going to do a review on Aquarius and watch this a second time... but I haven't even seen aquarius yet and I thought "well I pretty much got the whole story of The Whispers. Lets Do a blog on that!" So yeah. I am kind of in love with this show. There's kind of an X-Files vibe to me for some reason. It reminds me of all the mythology episodes of The X Files and its just as scary... if not scarier than a lot of it. It also kind of reminds me of Medium... again don't know why... but when Medium was on I was like "OHhh. X Files" and now that this is on I'm kind of like "Ohhh X Files. Medium." I also feel like people that like Lost... but also horror movies will like this... its very creepy, very mysterious and there is a lot going on. One thing I thought was interesting about the show was the characters... there are a lot of characters for this show! Probably more than they need, but I think the way that they handled it was very goo
