Movie Monday: Parasite

Okay... So I've been wanting to see this movie for months and my boyfriend has been wanting for me to see it for months and it is... worth the hype for sure. I absolutely loved it- one of the best movies I've ever seen.  And... I feel like it's a movie worth owning or paying money to see because honestly it felt like I was watching 2 or 3 different movies in one. It all flowed together really well and... I really don't know what I was expecting with this movie. I thought it was going to be a really scary movie about a parasite that infected a family... It is but not on that base level... it's very deep and it's very satirical. There are moments where I laugh and moments I could relate to... It was honestly very well done.  Sooo... I'm not quite sure how to describe this movie without spoiling it because... in the middle of the movie- there's a big plot twist... and I just made sure it wasn't in the trailer before I talked about it because IT IS SO H

Bingewatch and Chill: Aggretsuko Season 3!

Okay- I've decided since I review tv shows on Saturdays usually... I'm just going to name this post "Bingewatch and Chill" so... that's my weekly tv post! I don't always watch Netflix... sometimes it's other streaming services so... it's going to be bingewatch and chill.  Aggretsuko is kind of a special show for me because that's the first thing my boyfriend and I talked about when we were on Ok Cupid. I had just watched it at the time I signed up for it and I had just changed the "Last show I bingewatched" to Aggretsuko with a picture of Retsuko on my profile and then he messaged me saying "Aggretsuko was amazing!" So... yeah! This is a special show for us and we watched it together with sore stomachs from eating at Applebee's...  ANYWAY the season itself was really interesting. We thought it seemed a little less serious and a little less sad than the second season and the animation looked a little bit different. We don

Friends Friday: The Ross-Rachel- Joey Love Triangle Part 2

Okay so I talked about the first love triangle last week which took place in Season 8 during Rachel's pregnancy. The second part of this is in season 9 when Rachel gets a crush on Joey who just happens to be dating the perfect woman for Ross... and it all culminates in a very weird season finale...  Sooo yeah... I have to say... I don't know if this one worked quite as well as the other love triangle. Like I'm glad they did it... I liked all of the episodes around this storyline... but it still wasn't really the best? I don't think Friends ever jumped the shark but... the season finale of this was weird.  So yeah. In the episode "The One With Rachel's Dream." We see Rachel get a crush on Joey after seeing him do a love scene on Days Of Our Life and she had a dream about him.  This isn't exactly showing us a different side of Rachel because basically all of Rachel's relationships on the show are her pining after a guy for a while and then event

Asbury Kitchen by David Burke Review!!!

So I finally got to go to David Burke's pop up restaurant in Asbury Park. I've been to Drifthouse which is another David Burke Restaurant so I sort of knew what to expect from the meal... and it did not disappoint!  Appetizer  I didn't get a picture of this or dessert- but I do have another picture of the appetizer from when I ate at Drifthouse- but it is Maple Bacon on a clothesline. This is a really delicious Candied Bacon presented in a fun way! It was a little burnt today though and my boyfriend was a bit disappointed.  Entrees  So my entree was the Open Faced Soft Shell- but instead of Soft Shell Crab they had Shrimp Tempura. So it was a Shrimp Tempura over an Avocado toast and heirloom tomatoes. It was really good! A little messy to eat... but I still really liked it! The avocado's were really fresh and delicious and I liked it a lot!  My Boyfriend got the Skirt Steak which was AWESOME! It had a pesto sauce with it and I think it had some sort of fries but... it w

Things made for the Pandemic that I bought and have used

Okay so you guys know how some things that weren't really a thing before are now popping up everywhere because there's a pandemic... I've bought some of those things- here are my thoughts.  MASKS  Masks are a big thing. I have a few scarf face coverings- but I can't wear those to work... so I was wearing the paper ones that my company provided for me for a while... but then those were getting uncomfortable and they said cloth masks were more effective- so I ordered some cloth face masks from Old Navy and I really love them! Didn't know if they would be comfortable to work in all day- but they are! They might be a little hotter than the paper masks- but the paper masks got uncomfortable around my nose. Plus now I have some colors to match my outfits... so that's fun!  HAND SANITIZER  Okay- I usually have Hand Sanitizer on me anyway- but some new brands have come out with Hand Sanitizer lately and those are important too. I really like the Mrs. Meyer's Spray-

Target Tuesday: Target Wish List

Okay- so here are some things I maybe want to buy from Target soon... not sure if I really want them or not... but I thought I would maybe write a list.  Coin Counting Machine  I wanted to get this a couple times I went to target that way I could save up my coins and take them to the bank and get cash or put it in my account. So yeah that might be useful. They have coin wrappers in the same section... so I might buy those too... not really sure but I might.  Shoe Shelf  I like the idea of having all my shoes on a shelf and being able to see them all and chose them carefully. I don't know if I have room for this... but I looked at it the other day and I might get it.  A New Lamp  I might want a new lamp for the room I've been using for my vanity cause the lighting isn't the best. I don't know where I'd put it... but Target has good lamps and I might need one.  The Lip Bar stuff  So I love that palette I have from the lip bar... and I want to try more from the brand.

Movie Monday: Nightcrawler

Okay- so I've been wanting to see this movie for a while and honestly... it was awesome. Jake Gyllenhaal is just SUCH a good actor- especially in these weird types of roles like this one.  So this is a movie about Stringers for local tv stations and news stations. So these guys just go out to crime scenes with camcorders and try to get some footage of the crime or the accident or the victims- try to get interviews if they can and they sell the videos to the news for a few hundred dollars. And they work freelance for the most part- in this we see Gyllenhaal's character Louis start a company- but he's on his own for the most part with one intern that he is wayyy underpaying.  So Louis is extremely manipulative and even before he becomes a stringer- we see he's pretty crazy and potentially dangerous. We see him steal at the beginning to get the money for his camcorder and he beats up a cop too. He talks people into doing very dangerous things that benefit him or that he d

Umbrella Academy Season 2 Review

Okay so... this might be my new favorite show after this season. The first season was pretty good but this season was just kind of mind blowingly awesome... and I loved every second of it!!!  So in this season the gang goes back in time to the 1960s to try to save the world from the upcoming apocalypse.  And how do they do that... well it involves JFK... I think?  To be honest it's really hard to describe the plot of Umbrella Academy other than that it's about a group of adopted siblings with superpowers and they're trying to save the world from the apocalypse... and there's also time travel and talking to dead people and mind control and Mary J. Blige... in the first season- not the second season... but still.  Also if you're familiar with the comics- the show is a little different. According to my boyfriend both are really great but they each kind of have their own story. So... that's good!  Overall I really liked the time travel in this season and I liked th

Friends Friday: The Rachel- Ross- Joey Love Triangle Pt. 1

So... I figured I'd have to talk about this eventually. And here's the thing... I actually really liked this storyline. In season 8 especially- it was something new and different that honestly most shows wouldn't have done... and it got us to see different sides of each of these characters.  So in Season 8 Rachel is pregnant with Ross's baby after getting together for one night while Rachel was feeling vulnerable about Monica and Chandler's upcoming marriage and Ross hadn't been with a woman in 6 months... so... yeah.  Anyway flash forward a few months later... Joey is nervous for a date he's about to go on and Rachel misses dating and realizes she may not date for a while... and so she and Joey go on a "date" as friends and Rachel and Joey tell each other their "date night moves" and Rachel's are really good... and Joey begins to develop feelings for her. While she's pregnant with Ross's baby.  And Joey's never really ha

Twinkie Cereal Review

Ahhh my new favorite creation that has ever existed... Twinkie Cereal. This... is something special.  So it does taste just like Twinkies... but the weird thing is I don't like Twinkies and I really like this cereal. To me there's a real creamy taste to it that makes the crunchiness really really sweet and delicious and unique. I don't eat cereal with milk- so I'm not sure how this would be in milk. I would imagine it would make the milk taste really really delicious... but I don't think the cereal itself would be as good soggy because of the crunchy nature. It might taste more like twinkies that way though because twinkies are soft and spongey the way I would imagine this cereal tasting in milk.  I don't usually eat breakfast- but I'm not sure this is something really for breakfast. I think I would prefer eating it as a snack or a dessert. It's very very sweet and I don't think most people want something quite that sweet and dessert-like for breakf

Barnes And Noble Haul!

For some reason I thought this was going to be like a huge haul... cause this is more than I typically buy at Barnes and Noble... but it didn't actually end up being all that much stuff... so I wonder if there was something else I'm forgetting about or... what it is lol. I just bought a lot kind of.  First things first I got the new Grady Hendrix Book- The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. I really loved Horrorstor by the same author and I want to read his other books before Halloween. I tried this last year... but I think I'm going to try harder this year lol.  Then I got a Meditation Magazine. I haven't been keeping up with yoga as much as I should be lately... but I need to get back into it and I did really like the Meditation aspect of Yoga as well... so I would like to include that in the practice also.  I saw a book table that I thought was a sale table... but it wasn't... but it had a book called The Wig, The Bitch and the Meltdown by Jay M

Target Tuesday: A Very Random Target Haul

Every Target Haul is a little like this... but it's random still.  I'm going to start with the last things I bought because I never really mention the candy I get at checkout. I grabbed a Twix Bar and then I asked my boyfriend if he wanted anything and he said a Milky Way... so I got him a Milky Way... and then I saw they had a Cookies and Cream twix bar- so I got one of those too. I haven't tried that yet... but maybe that will be my review next week lol.  The most exciting thing I purchased was probably The Complete Series of The Mindy Project on DVD. I really like The Mindy Project and I don't think I saw the last few seasons. I'm excited to watch it again and review it on this blog of corse!  I also got another pair of earrings from Universal Thread.  And I got some Cat Pens... which are cute. I thought they were bunnies... but it says Cat on my receipt. These were more expensive than I would have wanted to spend on Cat Pens... they were the same price of the e

Music Monday: Folklore Review

So... Taylor Swift's music... it's always cute and fun to listen too but sometime... idk. I feel like she's matured a lot as an artist and as a celebrity and I was really excited to hear that she came out with a new album in quarantine. And honestly- I think it's her best since Red. Idk why- Red just kind of happened to be my favorite. I didn't listen to all of Reputation or Lover-but I've listened to all of her other albums though so... yeah!  So I didn't listen to the whole album at once- which I think is the way you should listen to this. I just didn't have time for it... and I like it but... I just didn't get to listen to it all at once. I did still get the connection between all of the songs though. I've heard that the whole album is a story about a love triangle told from different points of view- and I believe that's true. There are connections and references to other songs within the songs... and I thought it was really clever.  The

Weekly Wrap Up 8.16.20

It's my boyfriend and my 2 year dating anniversary today! Two years ago we went to PF Changs and saw the movie Christopher Robin and it was the best first date ever! Anyway- here's the weekly wrap up!  Favorites  Umbrella Academy Season 2- This is such a fun show! I have a review of it coming up next week... but just know this isn't an easy show to review... so just watch it and let me know if you guys love it as much as I do. I liked the second season wayyyy better than the first one.  We Bare Bears- My boyfriend made me watch this show! It's really cute and funny... I only saw the first  2 episodes I think... maybe the first 3... yeah the first 3 I think... but it's really funny and a lot of the voices are famous comedians. So yeah! That's great!  Bath and Body Works- Bath and Body Works is like my happy place lately and I've been buying A LOT from there and it's all really good stuff. They have a new Aromatherapy Line that I like a lot- and they have

The Politician Season 2 Review

I can't believe I forgot to review this! I was so excited to talk about it because it's so good and so funny and then... reviewing it just kind of escaped me.  But anyway this season focuses on Payton Hobart's underdog race where he runs against the New York State Senator Dede Standish that has held the seat for many years... but is also secretly in a throuple with her husband and another man. Bette Midler plays her right hand woman Hadassah Gold and... everything that happens is just so funny. They were really what the show needed to make it super funny and kind of elevate it.  Gwenyth Paltrow also had a really different role this season than just Payton's mom that was a bored housewife that was having an affair with a woman. Now we see she's bored with everything and running for office as well and... she's just really funny and fun to watch. Her whole story isn't really in the series a lot... but it definitely did something for the series that made it rea

Power Outage Blog! 8.12.2020

Okay- you may have noticed I didn't really post last week... that was because I had a power outage!  So the power outage at my house was only for a day really... but at work it lasted 3 days- 2 of which I had to work!  So when it went out at work- customers were still in the store... so we had to get them all to the register because the registers stayed open a little longer than the rest of the power- so everyone was able to buy their stuff... but then we had to close everything down quickly before it shut down.  Some people left early- but I stayed and worked in the dark. I work in a specific department so I have to put out things for that department... so I had a lot to do. And the rest of the day we hung up clothes in the back and broke down the truck because we still got a truck that day. The next day was kind of the same thing and the third day- I wasn't scheduled to work so I don't know if we were closed that whole day or not. We were able to stay socially distant wh

Target Tuesday: What I Don't Really Buy From Target

Alright so... here's some stuff I don't really buy from target! I'll give you reasons and... yeah!  1) Brand New Movies- Brand new movies I can usually pass on buying them at Target. I prefer to wait until the movies are on sale- sometimes even if I haven't seen a movie and I see it on sale- I'll pick it up at Target because there's usually a good deal on it. If it's a movie that I really liked and I want right then, if I'm feeling spontaneous and just want to buy something, if it's something I've been waiting for, or if it's something from Disney or Marvel... I will usually get it right away on the spot. Usually after a while you can get something for around $15 or less. On Black Friday they usually have a lot of really great sales so if I see a movie I like right now- I feel like "eh I can wait till Black Friday to get it" because... usually I don't watch the movies right away anyway and if it goes on sale before I watch it I

Movie Monday: Movies that Weren't What I was Expecting

So I didn't get to watch a movie this week- but I thought this might be an interesting idea... what movies were different than the trailers made them look... or they were just different than I was expecting.  1) Adventureland- I've heard this movie get a lot of praise lately- so I'm sorry if I'm about to insult your favorite movie but I did not like it and I think it's because of the marketing of it. They did everything they could to make this look like it was a comedy. They mentioned Superbad, it was about an amusement park that reminded me of some of the places I lived near... it seemed like it would be a fun movie...  But it was just sad. I don't remember all that much that happened but I remember just feeling uncomfortable watching it and... it just wasn't all that good. It was nothing like Superbad... it was just a really sad movie with a few laughs from Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig... but that was it.  This movie starred Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Ste

Movie Monday: Kazam

Guys... Kazam> Space Jam... honestly... I don't know why this movie isn't as loved as it should be... it's actually a fun movie that I was happy to just sit down and enjoy.  So I found out that this was considered a bad movie a few years ago when it was featured on the podcast How Did This Get Made... and I was like "What? This wasn't a bad movie at all. Why is it on this podcast." And then I heard them review it and I was like "maybe this was a bad movie." But I still stood by it... when the movie Shazam came out- I thought it was a remake of Kazam... which it wasn't- but that was still a good movie too... but not the same as Kazam. And I actually remember seeing this movie in theaters as a kid. I got really nostalgic when Kazam and Max sang "We ain't men, We Genie." And that was the first time I remember hearing "We Genie" instead of "we're genie"... it was kind of funny.  So nostalgia aside- I didn'
