Scribbles About TV: Secrets And Lies: Series Review WITH SPOILERS

Alright so I already did a review of the pilot on this blog and I said it was bad... It was a pretty bad over the top pilot... but sticking with it its really great. I'm at the end of the Penultimate episode and I have a theory... So I'm gonna pause I'm in suspense... but I want to write my theory on this blog before I actually see what happens so it isn't tainted. If you haven't watched it yet, don't read this before watching it! Lol.

Theory
Okay so for a while now I thought that if I were to write this... I would have Abbi as the killer. She's this sweet innocent girl, it would be shocking, terrifying and very twisted if she ended up being the killer. There was one reference I caught onto also pointing to her. The stalker mentioned getting "The Monkey off his back"... and that's what Ryan Phillipee's character refers to Abbi as...

Okay so there is that. She's also a super daddy's girl, and they play her as kind of this dumb innocent girl... but she knows what she's doing. She's not exactly Amma from Gillian Flynn's Dark Places... but they share similar qualities... also usually the "killer" is a woman with an A name... so thats a good way to keep track of a whodunnit type of thing.

Anyway where I left off it was revealed that Jess was on all sorts of meds and had the blue jacket that the killer wore to commit the crime... and she also had another dead babies ashes in her drawer and she was acting crazy. She was on Lithium and something else for Bipolar disorder that would make her violent if she stopped using it.

Sooo there is that. But lets not forget about the key that Natalie had for Jess's house. Abbi new where it was... (am I spelling Abbi right? That's how Abbi Jacobson spells it... I'm gonna roll with that.) Anyway so I think Abbi could have switched the meds and made Jess kill her son... or she just did it herself because she knew it would bring her closer to her dad... either way Abbi knew something I KNOW IT! Lol. Sooo... that's my theory. Jess just threw scissors at Ryan Phillippee's face... thats where I'm pickin up.

Andddd...

I was right! So Abbi was the killer and it was premeditated! She did try to frame Jess, she didn't tamper with the meds at all... but it was really really good.

I thought they would tie it up a little clearer because I thought this was going to be a mini series and next year would be a different story with different characters because thats what I heard. It was picked up for a second season, and I'm guessing Juliette Lewis is going to follow Abbi and we'll find more about why Abbi is the way she is. Sam will die. Guys named sam die a lot and that was the name of the Mom's boyfriend right? I'm guessing we'll find out a little more about her too.

Overall, I thought even though the pilot was ridiculous... this was a super super enjoyable bingewatchable show. I didn't think I would like it more than American Crime... but I do. I thought from the pilot it was going to be weird and stupid and it would all be bad... but it really picked up from the 2nd episode and on... its like woahhhhh. The acting wasn't amazing and it did get a little boring at times... but thats why its kind of great that it was only 10 episodes. I think it could still be good if it was like a full season... but not quite as good.

And its heartbreaking too because all of these characters you really love. The Crawfords are such a lovable family that just had a tragedy strike them. Christy is cold but still relatable and she stuck by her husband and he even stuck by his wife and he's such a good dad... and he told his friend a little too much info... and it was a little weird with him and Natalie at the end cause he said he had a date... but you really want things to work out for these people and it just all goes horribly wrong.

And I thought the twists were really good too. I had a hunch it was the daughter just cause A) That's the best twist. I'm a writer, that is how I would have written it B) I just read Gillian Flynn's Dark Places not to long ago... which *Spoilers* is similar. Lol. All these things steal it from somethin right?

I also thought the clues they had like the "Get the Monkey off your back" thing was cool. His friend was sort of the red herring (fat friend= always red herring.) and he had a shirt that said "con" on it which I think made him look guilty... and yeah.

Also random... I feel like the set is the same as Susan's House from Desperate Housewives... and possibly Lizzie McGuire's House... I got a very similar vibe for the Crawford house... seems likely.

So like I predicted it and it was kind of formulaic in that sense... but I was still on the edge of my seat the whole time... plus there were a lot of twists I did not see coming.

And is it just me or did the friend know wayyy to much info? I think he knew it was Abbi.

Anyway some of these answers I hope to find out about next season and some we know and they are that! So that is super cool!

Byeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
