Scribbles About TV:Shannon Watches Westworld (Pilot)

Okay... so I thought I would do a few more of these similar to my Black Mirror Recaps... right now I just watched the Westworld Pilot... and I'm intrigued. It isn't unlike Black Mirror... idk if I'll bingewatch all the episodes right away- I think I'll just watch a little at a time and I'll write about it when I do.

I feel like this almost isn't my cup of tea... but I did kind of like it... and I think the way that they told the story of the first episode was pretty good.

And a brief sort of synopsis of what the show is about... it looks like a regular Western show and that appears to be where the action takes place... but then you learn it isn't really set in a Western atmosphere... it's a theme park and everyone inside the theme park is a robot and they're having difficulties maintaining the robots- especially with the visitors.

And the way that they show the robots is kind of grotesque looking- but also beautiful. They're all incredibly beautiful people and they show flies around them, usually flies land on them and they don't respond to the fly because they were programmed to "literally not even harm a fly" so that guests would never be harmed by them... and *spoilers* but at the end of the episode, the character does swat at the fly, killing it... and that was just a really interesting thing to me. I thought that was cool- it poses a lot of problems and... I'm interested to see what happens next.

I think that's all I want to say about it. I don't know if I was 100% paying attention to every part... but I sort of liked the twist about the main robot that we're watching throughout the show...I don't really want to give that away... not 100% sure it is a real twist either though hahaha... but I just liked it. I think it's going to be important... I guess I'll update if it does or not. Lol.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
