Scribbles About TV: The Santa Clarita Diet Season 2

So I watched this a while ago... when it first came out actually and I liked it a lot... but I didn't want to bingewatch it and I ended up bingewatching it all in one day... so I wanted to go back and watch it a little bit at a time... and then review it.

And of corse... by that time I forgot to review it- so that's why I'm reviewing it now lol. This might be one of my favorite comedies on Netflix... I think I like it more than Grace and Frankie but less than Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I thought the first season was really great and suspenseful... although less violent than I thought it would be. This season I think was a little bit more violent and a little bit more suspenseful... but honestly... a little bit more funny.

I think they kind of did a lot this season too... I didn't think we would find out what exactly caused Sheila's sickness... I didn't think that the serum they were working on last season would work right away... but I was kind of happy about that. We still don't really know everything about the past behind Sheila's sickness... and there were still a few things that weren't solved like what's the deal with Mr. Ball-Legs and we have the guy from Happy Endings and his wife that were looking for Sheila... I feel like this show probably won't last all that long... but they do have some things in for next season.

The thing that really makes the show perfect is the relationship between Sheila and Joel... and Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant are perfect together! I think their comedic timing just sort of makes sense together and they just play off of each other really well... and their chemistry is great. I think Olyphant is particularly hilarious throughout the series... and he isn't really known for his comedy... so I just think he's surprisingly amazing.

And Drew Barrymore is obviously amazing... I just like her a lot. I think she's gorgeous and funny and talented... and I want to meet her because I feel like we'd be friends... and she's incredibly famous but she never really acts stuck up or anything.

I kind of mentioned yesterday in my Love, Simon review how much I loved the friendships in the movie... but this show showed some great friendships too... and a lot of it was developing unlikely friendships. They have Joel's friendship with Gary... which is just really funny and down to earth. And Sheila's friendship with Anne... who is an amazing cop that has all but figured out what Sheila and Joel have been doing... and she becomes very important at the end of the show.

This also kind of shows Sheila and Joel's morals. They feel like they could solve their problems if they killed Anne, but they can't because she's a good person and Sheila's friend. They also could kill Gary... but they struggle with that... and it's just kind of a nice structure to the show- in my opinion. I liked it a lot.

So overall... I really liked this season. I thought it improved the series a lot and it added some good elements and it made the show better!

Hope you guys like this review!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
