Scribbles About Life: Speed Dating?

So- I just got back home from my first experience speed dating at my favorite bar in the area... and honestly it was really fun!

Side note... I did mention to a bunch of people that I wrote the blog that was the #1 google result for List of Moose Puns (true story) and on the off chance anyone is reading this... that's cool. Everyone was actually pretty nice. Guys really like Game of Thrones... so if you're looking for a dude... watch Game of Thrones? I only saw the first season and I liked it but never watched more of it. Anyway... this is not a Game of Thrones Review... I wanted to talk about speed dating.

So the bar that did it is a really nice bar... but not the best for an event like this... and where they had it just kind of felt awkward. My ears are still ringing because it was very loud... it's also really dark- and they gave very tiny name tags for everyone that basically no one could read... so that was all kind of awkward. It was also very hot... so I was sweaty- my glasses fogged up... it wasn't the cutest.

And a friend of mine said that the guys were kind of awkward... but honestly- everyone there was pretty chill. Lots of people trying it for the first time... it was just kind of nice to talk to everyone... even if I ended up saying really uncool things about myself over and over... but still! Some guys seemed into the quirkiness.

The one thing that was hard was keeping track of everyone... I wrote everyone's name down... didn't remember who I liked by the end of the night necessarily... so I need to improve that... but everyone was pretty nice... there wasn't anyone there that I was like "Nah, not talking to them again." Even though I didn't match with anyone and probably won't talk to them again hahaha. It's not out of bad vibes or creepiness- just out of "Ohhh I'm not going to see them again."

It was also very late... it took over an hour to just have small talk with people... which seems like an introvert's nightmare... but I'm pretty introverted and I liked it a lot.

So yeah! I had a lot of fun! It's just something cool to do and it was different. My friend and I gossiped about dating app success and failure.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
