Things I do

So I thought I'd kind of do somethin a little different today and post some random things that I do and that I have been doing recently... things that I want to share. Lol. This could literally mean anything... so yeah. 1) I keep people grounded- Everyone thinks they are awesome... Everyone thinks they are the best that is just a fact of life... no one is really all that good. I have come up with the catchphrase "Take Yourself Down A Peg" because really people do. Case in point... Men are super confident... too confident. I have a friend that dated a guy that... well they had a big problem in their relationship. Its something pretty unforgivable. And it was 100% his fault. So... yeah. That was a thing. And somehow... he ends up calling her recently and asking her to see a play with him... Yeah. Take yourself down a peg cause there is no universe in which you are not a total scumbag. Take yourself down a peg... look at the real picture. If you and a girl didn't wor

Coming This Summer: Things I'm excited for Summer 2015

So there is a lot to be excited about this summer. Here are some movies, tv shows, a couple books and... mostly movies that I'm really excited about seeing/reading this summer. Books  I don't really know all that many books that are coming out this summer... there was one I read about on Entertainment Weekly with a cupcake that looked like a grenade, and there was another mystery that sounded really good... Surprisingly no Bios for summer release... but there are definitely a couple books I'm looking forward too. The newest Princess Diaries book is being released! I'm so happy about it! Its about Mia getting married to Michael Moscovitz... and I'm really pumped for it. I recently re-read all of the Princess Diaries series in preparation for this and... I'm excited. Its going to be really good! I know it! Its long awaited... and it sounds like there are more twists and things than any other book... and there are always a few twists, even for a teen fiction.

Scribbles About (Ear) Movies: Balls Out (Blacklist Table Reads)

So I've mentioned this podcast before on my It List... and I think I'm actually going to start doing a review on each individual movie that this podcast does. So this podcast is called Blacklist Table Reads and what it is is just a group of actors reading a script that is really good, but has not been made into a movie yet. Making movies is a long, difficult process and just because something doesn't get made doesn't mean it isn't good... just like if a movie does get made it doesn't mean it is good. Lol. Hope that makes some sense. This is a great podcast if you love movies because basically each month you get to hear a free movie! Its kind of fun to picture the settings and the characters yourself and I just really enjoy it. I also like it because you get to listen to movies you wouldn't necessarily choose for yourself. This movie Balls Out is definitely a movie I would go see in theaters, but the 2nd movie they have on is called The Other Side, and th

This Week in Sexism: Rebel Wilson and Maggie Gyllenhall's Age + The Bachelorette

So... I was going to do a Scribbles About News, and then I was going to do a feminist rant... but because all the news is so sexist... I thought lets combine them! And here is my 80 cents on the topics at hand... I'm going to start out with Rebel Wilson because thats kind of a big thing for the week. So Rebel Wilson has been under fire this week saying that she really is not 26 and her name is not Rebel Wilson at all. Is this a big deal? I don't really care if Rebel Wilson is 26, 35, or 100... she's still funny as hell and can actually sing. She responded to this on twitter saying that she is really a 100 year old Merman and that her real name is Fat Patricia. She's super funny for a 35 year old! Lol. Of corse women can be funny at any age ever. And it shouldn't matter what her age is... it should be focused on her talent, not age, looks, weight or anything of the like. Rebel Wilson is beautiful and even if she looks 35, she still looks 26 to me. She looks like

It List: May 2015

1)The Black list Table Reads- This is a podcast on the Wolfpop network that is seriously brilliant, different and really enjoyable. This is what I've been listening to a lot lately because its just so fun. The Black List is a project that looks at screenplays that are brilliant and funny but for some reason haven't been made yet. Sometimes its literally because they're too funny and to brilliant to possibly get made. Basically they get a bunch of good people together, some well known names and some lesser known names and they have them read from the script itself. So basically its like listening to a movie. They broke the first movie into 4 parts and release it week by week. The first movie they did was called Balls Out and its really awesome. It reminds me a lot of Office Space and I think if it did get made it would be the next Office Space. Its wayyy more over the top though lol. It was written during the infamous Writers Strike of around 2007-2008ish. And its about a

Scribbles About TV: Cool Things About David Letterman

Sooo... I thought I'd just mention some cool things about David Letterman because he just ended his term on The Late Show and to me, he's timeless. He's always been funny, always been relevant. I'm a big fan of Late Night TV and in recent years, Letterman is probably the show I've watched the least of all the Late Night Shows... but growing up I watched it a lot. I wasn't like staying up late and watching it or anything as a kid... maybe sometimes lol. I just feel like it was always on. Like they had a clip of him with a kid and he was singing jingle bells and then the kid sings "You are not you are not you are not funny" to him (in the tune of Jingle Bells) and I remember that being a joke in my house for a little while. My sister and I said it to each other a lot. And I think that is a really cool thing. Like he did a lot of interviews with famous people and a lot of stuff like that, people guest starred on his top 10 and stuff like that... but he

Scribbles About Food: S'mores Oreos

As usual during the Summer, there are plenty of S'mores products for you to get your s'mores fix in. These are definitely good for a cookie fix... but a s'mores fix... maybe not so much. These are good, and to me they taste better than regular inside out oreos... but they still don't have the real s'mores flavor that I was hoping for. The outside doesn't taste like a graham cracker and the inside doesn't taste like marshmallows... It tastes a little like Graham Crackers and a little like marshmallow... but it isn't all there.  One thing that did really impress me with these cookies is the chocolate in the center. Its really chocolatey and quite delicious. If you take the cookie apart, its awesome just for the chocolate cream. I'm not a huge fan of taking the oreos apart... I'm a bit of a purist and really they do taste the best together, or if you want eat half alone and half together... that is pretty amazing. But uhhh yeah. Lol. Best wa

Book Haul! John Green Boxed Set

So I figured I'd talk a little bit about some books that I'm gonna be reading during the summer! I have a post thats coming up about books I'd like to buy sometime soon and read... I wrote that quite a while ago and I haven't finished the books I'm currently reading right now. I like reading a bio and a fiction book at the same time... idk why really, thats just how I roll. Lol. So right now... I haven't picked either of these up in a bit, but I'm reading Amy Poehler's Yes Please, which is definitely one of my favorite books of all time and Gillian Flynn's Dark Places... which so far, idk. I didn't read very much of it and usually it takes me a while to get into Gillian Flynn books... and to be honest I'm going to reread this entirely... but I don't see how its going to be as good as Gone Girl or Sharp Objects. Those books are so creepy. Gone Girl is my favorite book of all time, and I've made several of my friends read it and they ag

Graduation: Experience, Thoughts and What Not To Do

So I just graduated! Wooo hoo! It was yesterday by the time I'm posting this blog... I'm writing it the day of though. May 18th basically. Lol. So here's just kind of what my experience was with it. I went to a small school, the Newark campus of Rutgers which isn't the smallest campus ever, but its pretty small and its mostly commuter. So thats just a little frame of reference. The ceremony itself was at the Prudential Center, which is a big venue... which is pretty nice because we didn't end up needing tickets for the guests or anything. It was pretty good. So I liked the way that I graduated because I finished all my classes a long time ago. I finished back in December and just waited until May to graduate cause I wanted a bigger graduation than the December one. It just seemed easier and I'm happy I did it that way. I'm glad that I didn't need to take finals or anything right before graduation because I had a bunch of stuff to do. I did take easie

Scribbles About TV: Finale Reviews+ Predictions for Next Year- Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, American Crime

So these 3 shows that I thought were really good this season had their season finales this week... and I'm going to say overall... a little underwhelming. These weren't the best most intense cliffhangers of the year... that is for sure. But they've all had quite exciting years so... yeah. Grey's Anatomy  I'm going to be honest... usually I don't pay 100% attention to Grey's anatomy because if I'm too into watching that, I  won't pay as close attention to Scandal... and I really wanted to see the end of Scandal and American Crime, and if I didn't watch those live... they would definitely get spoiled for me. I follow too many tv things on social media that I would have found out the end. I figured Grey's wouldn't have the same intense spoiler because it already did its exciting thing this year... so yeah. I did watch the second half of it though and... I think the biggest cliffhanger thing for me was the break up of April and Jackson.

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de

Hospital of the Living Dead: Pt. 1 (My attempt at fan Fiction)

Derek Shepherd woke up in a state of shock. He could see that he was on a hospital bed, in a very familiar looking hospital. "He's Awake" he heard a man's voice say. He knew that voice... it couldn't be... could it?  "Mark?"  Mark Sloan turned to Derek and said "What Up McDreamy?"  Derek was more confused than he's ever been in his life... he was pretty sure that he had died... but it looks like he's getting saved in a hospital... but also Mark Sloan is dead... so he doesn't fully get it. "Where am I? What is happening." Mark snickered "That is a long lonnng story man. But basically you're dead as a doornail. And this is what happens when characters on TV die." "What?" Derek was even more puzzled about this. "I'm a tv character?" "As it turns out yeah, we all are. I was pretty shocked at first too... but you get used to it. You see Derrick, to most people TV

Scribbles About TV: TV Shows I want to Watch/Catch Up On

So there are a lot of shows that I've been watching... a bunch of my shows just ended or are ending this week so... its gonna be a good time to catch up. Community first and foremost... I love this show. It hasn't gone down in quality at all since going to Yahoo its just not as fun to watch on my computer as it is on tv. I know its sad... but I just think "ohhh I'll just bingewatch it" and I never do. And they have great awesome people on it and guests and I really thought the first 2 episodes were good.... haven't even watched episode 100 yet... but its just hard. And I know this is going to happen with The Mindy Project too... which is upsetting... so I need to watch shows on places other than Netflix cause there are a lot of good shows out there. Resident Advisors looks like a really funny show. It stars Mulan from Once Upon a Time and Blaze from Burning Love. They're both incredibly attractive people and it just seems funny. So I'm gonna watch

Scribbles About TV: Secrets And Lies: Series Review WITH SPOILERS

Alright so I already did a review of the pilot on this blog and I said it was bad... It was a pretty bad over the top pilot... but sticking with it its really great. I'm at the end of the Penultimate episode and I have a theory... So I'm gonna pause I'm in suspense... but I want to write my theory on this blog before I actually see what happens so it isn't tainted. If you haven't watched it yet, don't read this before watching it! Lol. Theory  Okay so for a while now I thought that if I were to write this... I would have Abbi as the killer. She's this sweet innocent girl, it would be shocking, terrifying and very twisted if she ended up being the killer. There was one reference I caught onto also pointing to her. The stalker mentioned getting "The Monkey off his back"... and that's what Ryan Phillipee's character refers to Abbi as... Okay so there is that. She's also a super daddy's girl, and they play her as kind of this dumb

Scribbles About TV: What I've been watching lately

So I don't think I've posted about this in a while... so here is what I've kind of been watching recently. Over the past few weeks. I've seen some episodes of Malcom in The Middle... idk if I mentioned this, this was probably a couple weeks ago. It was funny. It reminds me a lot of The Middle. Its both family friendly and a little edgy... its a simple show... but I feel like a lot of thought goes into each episode because it is both family friendly, but still edgy but it doesn't quite cross that line. Bryan Cranston is also really funny in it... which is amazing. I saw him in Breaking Bad before watching this show and its unreal how different the characters are. Its also funny because he seems so threatening now that I think of him as Walter White. He's like "don't tell your mother about this" and I'm like "OKAY I WON'T JUST DON'T KILL ME MR. WHITE!" I watched the movie They Came Together with Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd. It

Scribble about life: 1/9/14 1:30 AM

Sooo... I thought I would just literally scribble about life every once and a while and not post anything until a much later date. I'm a senior in college, and I know every once and a while, I'm going to have too much work to do to really want to post something real, so I'll post these and it'll be like taking a trip back in the past when I publish it... Right now it's like taking a trip into the future... I'm posting this at the very beginning of a big year for me. I'm about to start my last semester of school ever right now and I'm nervous of what's going to happen after that. Will I have a job? Probably, I'm probably going to stick with the job I have now until I get to become the next Tina Fey. Will I be the next Tina Fey by the time this is posted? Who knows, probably not quite yet... but I believe in myself and I don't think I'm that far off. Also more related to the actual blog- how many people will actually read this by the time

Feminist Rant: Do We Ask Too Much of Women?

Soooo... lately I've been kind of feeling all this pressure as a lady to be awesome and to be my best self and to do whatever society thinks is right... but hold on a second... what does society want from you? Well you have to be pretty, otherwise you're garbage people... but you still have to be equally nice all the time but not too nice to the point where your a pushover. You really need to speak out for yourself, but a lot of times your opinion is wrong because there is a right and wrong opinion. You have to be well educated... but not a nerd. You need to have kids and love them and definitely breastfeed them, otherwise you're a complete monster... even if you can't. You can't really be too dependent on your kids or love them too much otherwise you're a total psycho. You need to wear make up otherwise your ugly, but do a natural look so that you can fool men into being attracted to you. You need to be a feminist, but don't forget about men either becaus

Scribbles About News: Beginning of May 2015

1) Reunion news of the week- Do the Full House babies know about the reunion? Plus Lizzie McGuire Reunion???- There have been quite a few reboot news items this week... and I'm sure its not even over yet lol. So I guess the Olsen Twins said that they didn't know about the Fuller House reunion and John Stamos said uhhh yeah they did or something like that. I don't know if it is that the Olsen twins said they didn't know it was going on or whatever... that is just what I'm guessing cause he said they weren't honest about it... idk. I'm probably going to stop talking about this now because I think its really stupid lol. Also there was a small reunion between 3 Lizzie McGuire castmates! Jake Thomas aka Matt McGuire posted a picture of himself with Hillary Duff and Lalaine aka Miranda and now reunion buzz is happening. I feel like it ended nicely, and I don't think anyone in the cast acts anymore... so that probably wouldn't be good. But its cool they s
